This is a place that holds poignant memories for me, as it was our last holiday destination, two months before my husband passed away. We stayed in a railway station building, Whitwell, converted into two holiday homes. A treasured memory. Thank you for doing a series on the Isle.
I never dreamed that the Isle of Wight was like this, very beautiful. You have hit on a successful formula with these videos, the cooking sections are a delight.
Another nice one. About weather aps: always use the one that predicts the weather you want and .. ... .. the weather has no internet so it doesn't know what to do when where 🤪😂
We were here camping only a month ago! parked in exactly the spot near Bembridge Fort where you were when you took up the drone. Unfortunately we chose miserable weather to visit. The Isle Of Wight is a true treasure
Ah Bembridge a favourite place of ours. The beach is where one of our daughters got proposed to as well. Didn’t know about the harbour and the land being drained. Not heard of that beer. You are right about the weather app it’s been rubbish lately. We love Branson pickle. Are you having some bread with that pickle Ken? Good pot cleaning tip Carol! Important when you don’t have much water. 😊
Lovely video again guys , love the old mill .... great to see its been kept in good condition. Too much of our history been let disappear. Drone footage is amazing , getting brave now Ken ...that was a food distance frim rhe campervan.
Yes that was a lit of Braunston. We love it but just a thin spread. Another interesting video and some great arial shots of the fort. Thanks for sharing.
It was lovely seeing the windmill. I love how calming Ken's voice is on the voice-over. That's typical of our weather, sunny one minute, pouring down the next.
School trip 1981.We visited the windmill.the lifeboat station and the fort. The fort was home to a business called Micronair at the time so visits were by appointment. The guide told us the place was haunted...although maybe he was trying to spice things up for us what with us being 11 years old
I love Tim Tams. They are hard to find in Florida. In the winter, our local Publix grocery store stocks them for the tourist and I usually get 2 packages and space them out for a treat. I like Branson pickle relish too. It’s also hard to find.
You make it look so easy. Hubby and I have just done 2 nights away and we found the spontaneously finding places to stay difficult! I think we are a pre-booked site pair!!!
At first it can be hard. It was for us. You perceive risks and don’t have the skills to spot places to sleep. In time it changes and you don’t need to think about it. Having said that it’s supposed to be fun so if you prefer the security and convenience of campsites just do that 😁👍.
Wonderful ❤. I have fond memories of Isle of White having been there a few times in my younger years. I had my first kiss at Bembridge where we were staying 47 years ago when I was 14 yrs 😂. Good times. Thank you 🙏 😊
If you keep this up I might have to fork out for the ferry! And you were spot on about the weather forecast this summer, totally wrong on so many days.
Hahahaha so funny seeing you drive down the roads and visit the same places we did when we visited the island two weeks ago. We love the island and try to get over at least once a year, stayed in a lovely B&B in Shanklin this year, although I was quiet surprised to find they’ve change the council car parks to £2 for overnight parking now, last time we went they was all free after 6pm.
Lovely quiet Sunday morning with a cuppa tea 🍵 👌 let sleeping dogs 🐕 lie🤔🤔yeah definitely 😂 bring out the Branston Ken ❤😂 those biscuits looked delicious too😋😋 now i see bh one of your replies that the VW Camper hasn't ebem been msde yet 😮😮😮 yime gor plan B me thinks 🤔
I last visited Isle of Wight 50 years ago as a 12 year old, thanks for taking me back to visit again. Next time you have a Tim Tam and coffee try a Tim Tam Slam , cheers, Garry form DownUnder
Lovely Vid, well done, I was Stationed in Ryde but lived down by the lifeboat station in Bembridge, so happy memories, that Fort was alarmed but right on the boarder for Ryde and Shanklin area cars, always a case of pride to turn up first
I remember the days when time allowed the friendly competition between areas 😁👍. Sadly these days they come on duty to a list of jobs longer than their arm. 😁👍
Ah Fridays! And a teatime treat from K&C! Mr GST wants to know if you did the Tim Tam Slam? You bite off opposite corners, dunk it in the hot beverage (tea, recommended) of your choice and use it like a straw!
I love seafood and crab meat is so delicious. And cheddar is yummy, too. The views in this weeks episode are top notch and Sandown Pier is just stunning👍. Thank you
Really enjoyed that. Interesting re the previously under water land and windmill history. We used to enjoy a mid walk pint & Bri liked a Boltmaker (Timothy Taylor?). I had sweaty palms though (I don’t do heights) watching you climb and then walk over the rickety floorboards 😅. Looking forward to the next episode.
So peaceful, can't wait for our trip to the Isle of Wight, we will follow in your footsteps, apart from the seafood, as we're vegetarian, although it did look very nice. We too love the Barber's Cheddar Cheese, and I love Branston Original, I always put some in an airtight pot for the fridge for our campervanning. Looking forward to the next video. Thanks Carol and Ken. 😊🚐 xxx
Aha glad to see the monument is there in my family we always do a check on it when we visit the island (old daft family tradition 😂) you can see it from Portsmouth & of course you can see spinnaker from Culver Stunning views from up there a wonderful film thank you for sharing xx❤
Ooh, Barbers Cruncher, my favourite. The Isle of Wight appears to have its own microclimate and it can differ wildly depending on where on the island you are. Thanks for sharing your day. 🍓🧶🌈💙
Great drone footage Ken 👍. Branston pickle is yuck....I can't even stand the smell let alone the taste 😂. I know someone that has Branston with everything that he eats! I love a cheese & jam (especially blackcurrant or strawberry jam) sandwich. Any news on your new camper?
Hi you 2 great video did you get any fishing gear I’m hoping to go next week on Seaford beach with a mate of mine haven’t been this year as the weather is not been great since I got back from my cruise. Hope you both are well. God bless Gary
We don’t do much planning to be honest. We tend to just shoot off to where we fancy. Scotland is calling though so when those midges kick the bucket we might go up there
We were hoping you could tell us that. Still no sign of the base vehicle being built by VW and we have only 30 days left to the get out clause kicking in. 👍
Always makes me laugh how the 'experts' can predict what the climate will be like decades from now but can't get the weather right from one day to the next!😂
Sorry but Tim Tams are in a totally different league to Penguins 🤗🤣 much smoother and absolutely delicious. Have you ever been shown how to do a Tim Tam Slam? It's like an orgasm in your mouth 👌 google it 😄
Thanks so much for the coffees. We appreciate your support:

Sorry to hear about your husband. Lovely to have such treasured memories to remember the good times you had together ❤️
I never dreamed that the Isle of Wight was like this, very beautiful. You have hit on a successful formula with these videos, the cooking sections are a delight.
Glad you like them. The island has so much to offer but it costs an arm and a leg to get there and back. Cheaper than the Isle of Man mind 😁👍
Excellent
Thanks
Well done! One of my favorites on your channel. Great photography and drone work, colorization and relaxing music 🎶 We enjoy watching you from the US.
Thanks Elisha. Greetings to you in the US 🙂
Another nice one. About weather aps: always use the one that predicts the weather you want and .. ... .. the weather has no internet so it doesn't know what to do when where 🤪😂
On the Island, I look to see where the sun is shining and head for that area. Usually sunnier in the south east.
Cool
Hi Carol & Ken great vid 😎
🙏🌹👍It's so relaxing watching your videos.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
We were here camping only a month ago! parked in exactly the spot near Bembridge Fort where you were when you took up the drone. Unfortunately we chose miserable weather to visit. The Isle Of Wight is a true treasure
Bad luck with the weather. We struck lucky. Lovely camping spot up there. 👍
The bread is just there to stop your hands getting sticky 😁👍
Lovely video again guys , love the old mill .... great to see its been kept in good condition.
Too much of our history been let disappear.
Drone footage is amazing , getting brave now Ken ...that was a food distance frim rhe campervan.
Yes, thanks to the locals who helped with the restoration before giving it to the National Trust 🙂👏
I love Branston pickle but that was alot 😂. Want any bread on your pickle.Ken?
The bread is there to stop your hands getting sticky 😁👍
Lovely drone footage. Nothing like a cheese and Branson pickle sandwich, but I can only have about half that amount!
Very wise. 😁👍
I love Branston pickle
Yes that was a lit of Braunston. We love it but just a thin spread. Another interesting video and some great arial shots of the fort. Thanks for sharing.
Ken does love his Branston pickle ☺️
It was lovely seeing the windmill. I love how calming Ken's voice is on the voice-over. That's typical of our weather, sunny one minute, pouring down the next.

❤
I’m with you on the branston pickle Ken, it’s got to be chunky though 👌🏼
Lovely slippers carol 😁
Ken’s a small chunk kinda guy 😁 Thanks for watching 🙂👍

If it was not haunted I would be disappointed 😁👍
Thanks for the fascinating aerial footage at the end of the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Such a cozy, unfettered and beautiful place to visit! You captured it beautifully! ❤
Thank you 👍
I love Tim Tams. They are hard to find in Florida. In the winter, our local Publix grocery store stocks them for the tourist and I usually get 2 packages and space them out for a treat. I like Branson pickle relish too. It’s also hard to find.

Would love a list of everywhere you stop. In all your videos.

The windmill was interesting - and I'm with you on the Branston, Ken! Mmmmmmmm. YAM xx
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
FanTASTic!!!
Glad you like it!
Great vlog guys. Always wanted to go there, even more so now. Stunning. ❤
Well worth a visit 😀👍
Stunning visuals. Thanks for sharing. Currently hot/humid here in the Midwest U.S.A. Typical summer weather 😎
Funnily enough we are expecting a heatwave here in England next week 😝
If you keep this up I might have to fork out for the ferry! And you were spot on about the weather forecast this summer, totally wrong on so many days.
Plenty more to come yet. Dig into your piggy bank 😁👍
Hahahaha so funny seeing you drive down the roads and visit the same places we did when we visited the island two weeks ago.

Parking charges seem to have rocketed since we last visited the island. We visit Shanklin in the next episode 🙂
We were there too a fortnight ago!!
Drone footage is always my favorite! I’m glad the weather decided to behave itself. A lovely day for you both. Mary
We got lucky with the weather.
Hi to both of you!
Recently discovered your superb channel.
Thankyou!

You are the second person to mention the Tim Tam slam 😁👍
As an islander, that junction to Culver Down is so much easier if you go a little further on to the mini roundabout and approach as a right turn 🙂
We know the one. Good tip makes it much easier to come from the other direction 👍
Hi Ken and Carol. Drone footage is great.
Thanks Larry 🙂
Had a holiday on IoW in 1979. It was a Golden Rail holiday and we toured the whole island by train and bus. It was great.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Brilliant filming soooo calm and watchable ….effortless and I know it’s not producing it 😂
Love Branston pickle and lashings of it to …..
Now I know what to buy you for your birthday 😁👍

Lovely to see bembridge, makes me want to get over to the Isle of Wight, lovely video 😊
If it makes you want to visit then the video did it’s job. 👍

Fresh seafood is hard to beat for flavour but don’t let Carol near the mussels 😊
Really enjoyed that. Interesting re the previously under water land and windmill history. We used to enjoy a mid walk pint & Bri liked a Boltmaker (Timothy Taylor?). Yes they make the beer. I am sure the floor boards were safe but I don’t trust them 😁👍
Wonderful video. Never seen so much pickle all at once 😅😅👍
I do love a bit of pickle 😁👍

Fingers crossed you get some good weather. We loved the place. 👍
A 5 star fort! Very interesting!
Hello you two, I must say, you had a sexy windmill there (I had to smile, we don't seem to have them over here 🤣).
We have the sexiest windmills on earth 🤫
Thanks for sharing another great vlog, the history on the windmill and as well as the beautiful scenery... keep safe....
Thanks, you too!
Lovely drone shots
Ken I'm with you you can't beat a cheese n Branston pickle sandwich 😊
Sent by the gods 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK absolutely
Gives me indigestion just watching that volume of Branston pickle 🫤! Ken’s got a robust stomach for now !!
I have a whole set of the silicone accessories for cooking and love them. Work great on my cast iron skillets.
That is awesome!
Aha glad to see the monument is there in my family we always do a check on it when we visit the island (old daft family tradition 😂) you can see it from Portsmouth & of course you can see spinnaker from Culver

Glad you like them!
Another wonderful video guys!😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was a lot of pickle!!
Yes you are right, it was. I like Branston Pickle as well, but blimey Ken 😲
Ken does like his Branston ☺️
Any amount of Branston pickle is too much but that amount should be a crime lol. IOW Looks lovely so far. Looking forward to seeing the rest x
I wondered why we had never watched you with a bottle 😁👍

It’s not looking good on the camper front. VW have still not built it. As for Branston Carol uses it under protest 😁👍
@LifeistooshortCK oh that's not good that the camper is still not progressing. A real let down for you both.
Hi you 2 great video did you get any fishing gear I’m hoping to go next week on Seaford beach with a mate of mine haven’t been this year as the weather is not been great since I got back from my cruise. Hope you both are well. God bless Gary
Yes I got a rod and have tried a few times at Seaford and Newhaven for mackerel but no luck yet 😁👍
When do you think you will get your new van ken. Its taking a while. ❤
Still not built by VW. Not looking good
When is the New VW Camper Van coming ?
Valerie
VW have not even built the van so it’s probably never coming. Decision time soon.
Did you bump into Nobby and his Missus 🤣
Did Nobby and his Missus appear in the movie then 😁👍
Planning any winter wild camping?
We don’t do much planning to be honest. We tend to just shoot off to where we fancy. Scotland is calling though so when those midges kick the bucket we might go up there
