Now, if that system (usually contributed to by human error) identifies me as a suspect and someone challenges me, if they touch me, some one is going to have the worst day in their life....and it won't be me.
Asda are not the police. If, and I highly doubt this is the case, but if they do identify anyone as a suspect they will watch them carefully on CCTV to ensure they do not steal. And, yes, they record your face for facial recognition. That's how they identify shoplifters and other criminals. What would you expect them to record? Your feet?
Ah, but, they have to have real evidence that you have actually taken something and have tried to exit the store without paying. But often they don't have that evidence, just a suspicion.
