“Nah, he wasn’t rewarded; He earned it.”👊🏾✌🏾🚀…This is why NE is able to do their own thing separately and then come back together to respect the foundation-New Edition….They are all just some REAL mf’s….And Johnny didn’t replace B Brown; that’s why they BEEN doing tours with all 6 members….Respect, man
The crazy thing is Johnny Gill OWNS the rights to the New Edition name.....I guess after all the BS the group went thru and lost money/opportunities, this was Johnny's get back SMH!! After the movie on BET dropped they should have capitalized off that story to the fullest. They are a multi-generational group.
@@jman1562001 well both Johnny and Ralph owns it together. and to me they have been capitalizing off of the success of the BET movie. they have done multiple shoes tours books etc since than
Mike Biv been a superb interview since he was a kid. Honest, funny, and consistently mellowed out with emphasis on business advancement and the future. Coolest man in the room at all times.
Me personally I think the to vote Bobby out was a blessing. It showed how each and every member were great musically. There is no other groups that can stand the test of time as New Edition👉.
These guys are like my brothers. As a Orchard Park resident, these stories needed to circulate throughout the world. Mike and I speak weekly, and the one thing I told him is that he has a unique gift to keep people on the edge of their seats while telling stories. Go support his doc on August 24th...Its really an AMAZING body of work!!
yo you are one lucky dude to speak to him weekly yo what happen to the BBD doc? I heard all 3 of them were suppose to release docs with the same people playing the characters now those actors are 5-6 years older
Even though Bobby had the bigger selling album, both albums were extremely good. I went to the second leg of the heartbreak tour where Bobby came back out and preformed Telephone man. At the time it was a surreal feeling. There is actually a 1987 Jet showcase with Bobby explaining their plans for 88.
He showed love to his brother regardless of what they went through he's human he didn't like how Bob was moving and thats ok but he still showed love and gave his brother his flowers
BOBBY BROWN is a Mfering LEGEND!!! Stop it!!! And he did the GHOSTBUSTERS soundtrack!! I'm 48 years old, and Bobby back then made me feel like a TRUE player & MAC!!!...period!!! He was ice 🧊 cold!!!!
Dope interview, I've been a fan of NE since "Popcorn love", they just had a sound that was almost reminiscent of the early Jackson 5 sound but, when Jonny Gill joined the group I never really accepted him as a full fledge member of NE. He had a more mature voice and it almost would be as if Teddy Pendergrass joined the J5 when Jermaine left. I guess in my mind I always expected Bobby Brown to come back and reclaim his position in the group but, nevertheless it all worked out but I must admit that I would have never expected that one group, NE would spawn as many amazing acts as they did. New Edition Ralph Transvant Bobby Brown B.B.D. Johnny Gill Biv 10 (Notable Mentions)................... Boyz II Men & A.B.C.
the best part of the interview in my opinion saw you thanks for the music and styles biv i have liked new edition since the 80's and even now as a middle age fan
Mike Bivins is the OG of Mogul with Swag - Jay is the son of Mike. He is the root of our generation & hip hop mogul culture done right "on code & with ethics"! Loved this Man for Years❤
NE Heartbreaker and Don't Be Cruel is equivalent to NWA Niggaz 4 Life and Ice Cube AmeriKKKa's most wanted. Both amazing albums but 1 just slightly a bit better
Grown man trying to tell a story about emotional trauma and being alone for two weeks as a teenager and the room couldn’t wait to make fun of him. He had to literally say “no, hold on”.

He's right. I was 8, 9 years old at the time and couldn't have been a bigger fan of both. If l wasn't watching "Moonwalker" or listening to "Bad" it was Bobby Brown all day. Bobby was right under Michael from 88 - 90...
Bobby was a mess...but he was was still cool everybody in the group. It takes a real nggah to not slander your friend or friends even when they are fucking up.
I wish there was someone there that actually knows the music. Bobby was still in the group when they released both their third album & Christmas EP in '85. After he got kicked out, he released his debut solo album "King Of Stage" in '86 which didn't do all that well. "Don't Be Cruel" & "N.E. Heartbreak" didn't drop until 1988. These niggaz gotta at least look up the discographies of their guests if they're gonna go the Combat Jack route & go through their entire careers.

I loved at the end of this clip when Biv said they didn't replace Bob, Johnny just joined the group. There's no replacing Bobby Brown.
they wanted to bring bobby back and replace ralph
