The crazy thing is Johnny Gill OWNS the rights to the New Edition name.....I guess after all the BS the group went thru and lost money/opportunities, this was Johnny's get back SMH!! After the movie on BET dropped they should have capitalized off that story to the fullest. They are a multi-generational group.

Dope interview, I've been a fan of NE since "Popcorn love", they just had a sound that was almost reminiscent of the early Jackson 5 sound but, when Jonny Gill joined the group I never really accepted him as a full fledge member of NE. He had a more mature voice and it almost would be as if Teddy Pendergrass joined the J5 when Jermaine left. I guess in my mind I always expected Bobby Brown to come back and reclaim his position in the group but, nevertheless it all worked out but I must admit that I would have never expected that one group, NE would spawn as many amazing acts as they did.
