This album is to Hip Hop what The Godfather is the cinema. It is a masterpiece. In my opinion, it is the greatest hip hop album of all time.

I bought this album 3 days before it came out in August 95', i was just listening to it from beginning to end a couple weeks ago, almost 30 years later. Definitely my favorite album of all time!

Only built 4 cuban links and Hell on earth by mobb deep tied, used too, still do and will continue to listen to these albums. In my opinion two albums u can play from start to finish without having to skip songs. Especially hell on earth, starting with track 1 no intro just straight grit with animal instinct. And god damn incarcerated scarfaces

1995, I'm going to school waiting at the bus stop listening to this and a crackhead (didn't know he was one at the time) walked up to me asked if I know some people that lived in the projects up the block. I knew them but I said no because they be wilding. Dude said he had a gun and he would shoot me if I didn't give him my walkman. I took it out my pocket and gave it to him. He started to run off and I yelled "yo hold up, give me the tape inside" He took it out and threw it to me lol.
A couple weeks later I'm going to my cousin crib and I see him on the corner waiting to get served. We fucked his ass up.
Top 5 of All-Time. It was awe inspiring when that purple tape dropped. Definitely the album that made you having a moniker cool.

The album was average. Overrated album with the exception of Cap's incredible verse on Winter Warz. Liquid Swords and Supreme Clientele are the best Wu Albums.
I'm more partial to Liquid Swords myself and supreme clientele is 🔥 but to call the purple tape average and overrated is blasphemy to me. OB4CL is a classic in its own right. Just my opinion
