how do you take the picture?
@late night productions select camera tool and press mouse1 or alternative version, press f12!
did you rename your face posing things or is that a workshop mod????
The "Advanced Camera" addon helps a lot since you could tweak it's FOV in real time,so no more going back and forth when it comes to setting up the angle and what can only be seen in the scene :D
Yeah, I actually have that addon and it's super helpful!
@@JakeMirac tbh with you,SMH seems like a more useful animation tool as you can keyframe a pose and tweak it when you have made a mistake.Basically wont give you the painful "restarting the whole scene" work again.
@@theopdr.6114 Yeah, smh is very useful but I personally don't use it, because i don't know how to use it and I like to animate the way I animate now

This is probably the easyiest gmod animation tutorial I ever seen. I Love it! There are many tools that you can use, but its all based on stop motion, just like every cartoon. And you can make it even better, if you make more frames. This is not just the easiest, but its olso a great way to make animations. Great job:D!
Thank you for your comment! Also there is some limits for animations framerates. In my opinion, with original stop motion style 30 fps is propably better looking than for example 60 fps. You can test different framerates while making your animations and choose framerate which has the best results!

I mean... its still just a plan, but at this time, I started to dowland Vegas Pro 17! So I could start. This was a huge dream to me. Garry's nod tf2 videos is a part of my childhood! But my plans are wanna be more serious than those videos. I wanna create a tf2 universe where the community creates the world. For example: there are free to play, gibus wearing scouts or othets. But there would be youtubers and animation creaters. And community made gamemodes that gonna get a story. For another example: I would like to create a while story, to the slender fortress game mode, and olso for freak fortress. This is my dream. But before everything, I will probably do a couple of tests. Wait a minite, why Am I telling so much information... whatever. I think I will add you in steam, and than we could talk. I will check out your other videos;) you peobably have more!

Awesome Tutorial 14:54 very important. I'v made Gmod animations where I just record the animation but never did the individuals frames so thanks for showing the setting to uses in Vegas.

Make like a power point on how to come up with a plot
I would suggest u to mimic your dreams, just think about crazy ideas or just see what kind of plot other people have and just try thinkin of any kind of plot. If it sounds good, make a script, decide characters and start animating! Remember to stay motivated, it's important!

i would like to point out that there is NO anticipation.
this scene looks... off because of that
when you throw a ball, you would first bring it back to your ear, then throw forward.
in that scene, Scout just threw it without any "bring back" and it looks unnatural

Gmod costs around 10e. U can't really get it for free... or I won't suggest pirating it

2 questions
How do I animate vehicles and weapons?
Can you save an animation and put it to another model?
You could do like vehicle animation on greenscreen and edit that in, or maybe try using stop motion helper.

Thanks for your comment! If you want to do animations of half life characters, just use the stock gmod hl characters, or u can also search better quality characters on workshop. I will see what I can find and will post links to them later.

How do you make the limbs stay, and not ragdoll when you use the phys gun?
after you have posed your limb, just right click (mouse2) to freeze it.

I don't understand how to make poses with the physgun, I stand pose the character, and I can't give it a pose neither with the physgun nor the ragdoll mover (sorry for bad english)
Edit: if I move an arm for example it falls because of gravity, how do I make it stand still?
Just right click to freeze, test that!
How do you get the edges of the images yellow so you can move them all at once?

If so why do we need it for?
U don't need photoeditor if you do simple enouch animations. But if U want to make thumbnails etc. that is when u want to have a decent photoshop.

I actually out that scene in there when i editet the video. So it was rendered footage.

Og puro model can't be face posed at all. However, there is "Enhanced Pyro" -addon, which lets you do different face poses. Link: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=183440286

Well there are few addons in the description. For more search workshop -> gmod -> tools -> most popular etc.
Where did you get the blinking sound effect in tf2 sounds.

Why the animation become fast. I use vegas pro 16 but every frame is so fast how do i stop this
You either don't have the same still image length as I have or you don't take enough pictures.

I have a question, if I want the steps of the characters to be heard to have sound, do I have to put a sound effect on them?
Yes! Just search footstep sound from internet and put that in and remember to get the timing right!
Where can I get Sony vegas pro
It's regularry something like 200€ but I recommend you to check Humble Bundle regularry. They have had many times sold vegas pro 14 and vegas pro 15 at the price of 25€ ( that's how i got it)!

There is not much to teach more. U will learn smooth and realistic movement the more u animate and i recommend watching well made animations in slomo and try to copy the style. I might make more advanced tutorials, just have to find time to do that. Also u need tutorials about gmod animating, editing, photoshopping or what exactly?
How do I transfer my vision to the camera? and how do i start recording?
When u select cameratool, just type any key u want to switch to camera view. Then when u want to take screenshot just press mouse1 while in camera mode. Furthermore, to screenrecord you need own screenrecording software!

Is there any sort of alternative to sony vegas? I dont have the money and I dont want to jailbreak or anything.
Yeah, for example lightworks. It's free, a bit hard to use at the beginning but it's still a pretty good video editor. Also, there are a lot of tutorial videos for lightworks in youtube.

Is there a way to play the animation in Gmod or do you need to put the photos together in an editor/use smh for that?
Actually u can kinda play the animation if u check ur screenshots. Just press shift+tab while in game, so the steam view is opened and then click "screenshots" and just click manually every picture and check if your animation looks good. Alternatively u can do same with your pc's image viewer.

Just start trying to make something for example random scenes. Play with the physics, lights, poses, face poser sliders etc. Edit your scenes and see how they turned out!

yes, a few hundred euros, but i have to recommend humble bundle for u! i got it from there for 25$ so it was cheap!
