Nice to see all these brave people who don’t pretend to learn super quick. Honesty is great, almost as great as encouragement. All those muscles develop slowly. It’s so discouraging to see someone who pretends to learn quickly, unless you understand that it’s impossible to develop these muscles that quickly. It’s not just a failure to understand, it’s the failure to develop these muscles. The ability to hear the correct notes on a fret-less instrument is also time consuming. How much rosin on the bow or too much rosin build up on the strings, which strings to use, when they’re too old. There are a lot of issues with learning online as an adult & what you can realistically expect to achieve.
As an adult learner myself (73) I really appreciated the playing of these students. I know how difficult it is and they all made many sweet notes too. Well done everyone, really inspiring.
Martin was especially good despite his hearing issues which did not seem apparent at all. He put real feeling into that piece, it was quite moving. 👏👏👏
Such happiness and smiles as well as wonderful playing by all the brave students today! I think these online recitals are great and I hope they continue as a great source of inspiration regardless of what's happening in the world. This was marvelous! Thanks to all the performers and teacher.
Nice performance guys! Some of tips that worked for me to get smoother playing 1) attack the string: never mind the rhythm, tempo. When u r learning a piece try to use a full bow at faster speed when u got the pitch correct, do this for 3 or 4 boxes only at a time( doesn't matter sixteenth, eighths, quarter, half ). Use this to introduce the notes to your fingers. And once mastered the strong pitch, go for tempo and then bowings. 2) 16 beat bow: when u practice scale make sure u do this, sustain a note for 16 beats using one long bow and tempo set at 60bpm. 3) enjoy the process. The first 2 tips give u tremendous confidence to play, practice
A beautiful ,enchanting musical time ...it inspires every violinists, especially begginers like me... thanks to all performers and teachers😊! !! Stay safe everyone! !
Such amazing people. I am using your help with my daughter and have been picking up some violin tips myself. I may have a sneaky practice when she is in bed

What a nice idea to make this lovely group video of adult people like me, who have decided to make their dream of playing this beautiful instrument come true, despite their age; I am 62 and I am very excited about learning and your videos, your constant contact with Support from your book, tips and tutorials give me a lot of strength to continue when sometimes I feel that I will not be able to achieve it, but seeing all these people follow their dreams has given me a lot of encouragement. Thank you so much.
You are most welcome Lisette! ❤️ And thank you as well for letting me be a part of your violin journey. 😊 Maybe you can also be apart of our next violin recital! And be a part of an online violin community with other adult violinists - m.violinspiration.com/join-us/
