Just got a 2023 Civic LX.....can afford anything I want, but wanted steel wheels and tires that can take a pothole because the roads are horrible where I live, also wanted the naturally aspirated engine....nice and simple, will outlast a turbo every time.

    • @ericscottstevens

You made the correct choice. Avoid the turbo as they already are reporting problems with it.

If that makes you feel better, but the CVT is more likely to give you issues in the life of the vehicle than the 1.5T that has had pretty much all of its problems addressed. Manual transmission with either engine is probably the way to go.

Had a sport Touring for 15 months. 12.000 miles. Really no complaints. I may even like it more as my confidence grows that i made the best choice I could, for our needs and budget. I did drive the Mazda and Toyota and considered Hyundai/kia.

I just picked up an EX and paid $29K OTD including all taxes and destination. No markup! These high interest rates have slowed sales. Even for Honda. They are eager to move vehicles. Mazda is doing the same. I really wanted a new Prius, but Toyota is not producing enough of those and dealers making crazy markups with them! I will hang on to it for a couple of years and see how I like it. Maybe trade it. Great thing about Honda's, they have great resale value!

the last option hatch is my personal choice with manual transmission at $32.345K. the only thing that slows me down is the eye-soaring infotainment screen on the dashboard !! it did the same negative impression with Genesis and Hyundais products. I would option it out if that was possible. unfortunately, it is not

The 158hp multi-port engine configuration with the MT is a 30 year / 300,000 mile car.

The Civic is the same size in length, height and width as the Mazda 3 sedan. However the Civic does appear larger for some reason. It definitely make better use of its interior space. The Mazda is cramped AF in the backseat. Not an issue in the Civic!
