Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

Loved your complete tutorial! Loved the no music to completely confuse me. Now I have gorgeous snowflakes to give as gifts ! Thank you Robin😊
Thank you for not adding unnecessary music to your tutorials. It makes it so much easier to focus on your instructions
😀🧶
Seconded as somone with auditory processing issues its impossible when there is music because turning up the instructions makes the music louder and dosent actually help
I agree 💯 👌
That and no crazy nails. Some women have wild nail polish and it is very distracting to the project.
Amen!
Thank you for making a snowflake that is six sided….like an actual snowflake!
I agree!
🥰❄️
It had to be right! 😃❄️
I was thinking the same thing...let's be as true snowflaky as possible! Marie
It's so cute! Please make a video on how to make it into a shawl. A snowflake shawl would be so pretty during Advent🎄

My daughter had a water leak in a storage unit where all her Christmas decorations were being stored. She lost all her decorations. I thought I would make a dozen of these for her Christmas tree as she starts to replace her ornaments slowly. This tutorial is perfect. I always love your teaching style, love that you don’t play obnoxious music in the background and are so clear in your instructions. Many thanks❤
Oh no Lisa, I am sorry to hear that.😢 Thank you for your kind words too, I find music too distracting for learning.x
I've been having a depressive episode for two months now, and couldn't find strength or inspiration to crochet anything, but this snowflake made me take up crochet again❤️ thank you so much🥰
You’re so welcome, I’m glad the crochet helped a bit to bring you back to creativity.🥰🤗❄️
I finally figured out something small I can make the whole family from my great grandmother's "christmas" yarn. She used to make everyone ornaments and I really wanted to do something similar but different. Thank you!!!!
That sounds like a great idea! 😍❄️
You are amazing and inspire me! Some things are way beyond my skills but I am willing to try so many more things because of you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Aw what a truly lovely comment to read Beth thank you! 🥰❄️

@LeAnn Lewis oooh but that's so satisfying!! (Clearly I'm easily entertained too 😂)

Thank you Kelly! 😃❄️
I just made this using embroidery floss and it turned out so delicate and pretty
What a wonderful idea! Thank you for sharing.😃🧶
That's a grand idea! Would you mind telling me what size hook you used, please? I've gotten back into crocheting after many, many years, so I'm not as confident as I should be.
Happy holidays! ❄❄❄
I appreciate your step by step tutorial. Thank you for encouraging this seldom crocheting person and giving me the confidence to say, “ I think I can do that!” Pinning for a future project ❤️👏🏼
I’ve always loved snowflakes .
You’re so welcome Judy and me too! They are so pretty.😃❄️
Great idea to add sparkle thread to your snowflake - it's snowing here (Manitoba) may have to stay in and make a garland. Excellent tutorial!!!
Ooo! Can you send some snow to the UK please? 😃❄️ A garland sounds lovely!
@@HookedbyRobin I'd love to send some snow to the UK we tend to get lots and very cold days as well! Crocheting lots of blankets to keep warm 😁
This is the best snowflake ❄️ I’ve seen so far! And I actually love the rainbow colours 🙂
It works so well doesn’t it Lisa?😃 Someone said in the comments it reminded them of flowers.🌸
Thank you it is very nice and I wanted a new garland for my new home. Will start Tomorrow morning.

I am making a snowflake ,for each of my 7 granddaughters, as a gift topper and to start them collecting decorations for their future Christmas trees. These are so cute - thank you for the precise tutorial. ❤
That is such a lovely idea Leslie, how special.🥰🎄
How did you know I've been mass producing snowflake ornaments these last two weeks? :D Thank you so much for the extra variety!
😅❄️
What other kind can you make?
@@Guttergirl182 Any that pops up after a web search :D There are some really quick ones (although not quite as intricate as Robin's), and you can also experiment yourself - just create a circle of a few rows, stitch count = multiple of 6 + chain spaces, then play around with picot edging (ch3-5-7-5-3 next to one another look great!).
I love this snowflake! You explain things so well. You make us all feel like we can easily do the project! Going to gather my supplies and see how many of these I can do while I wait for my doctor appointment! Thank you Robin for the video and inspiration!
You're so welcome Dianna, they are so fun to make!😀 Let me know how you get on with making them.
Wouldn't it be simpler to start this beautiful motif withe a 'magic ring'? Like the gold thread idea.
I've been looking for an alternate pattern to make a blanket I'd originally planned to do in a pineapple pattern, and I think this is going to be my winner! I think all together it'll be so cute and I'm finally excited about the project again
I am so happy to read that, thank you! 😃❄️🥰
I love this. I'm going to make some and give as gifts to a group I know to put on their trees. Thank-you. 🙏🏻🧶🎄💗
What a lovely idea! 🥰❄️

This was lovely to read, thank you Helena! 😃❄️ I am so pleased you like the snowflakes too.x
Thank you for posting this snowflake. I first followed along with variegated yarn, so easy. Then I bought some yarn with a sliver thread, it was a little bigger and just as nice. But then, I like to work with size 10, 20 and 30 thread, so I found size 10 silver and gold, getting started was kind of hard, but after the first row it came out really nice. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome Nancy, I’m glad they came out nicely!😃❄️
Thank you so much, I was gonna a mission from my residents at work to learn how to make a star and wow I done my first star ⭐️

Thank you! It’s perfect 🤩 I love a snowflake ❄️ ❤️
Me too Sue! 😃❄️🎄
I have been struggling and struggling ALL DAY to make one of these kinds of '5 minute snowflakes' and your video was the first one where I think I saw where I was struggling: work into the middle of the HOLE of the magic ring, rather than trying to stitch around the edge. You have saved my sanity! Tomorrow I'm gonna be making it snow at our house!
Yesss, you will soon be making lots of these!😀🥳
@@HookedbyRobin It's three shades because that' what I have on hand, and it's far from more than a beginner attempt (how is your center crochet, the one after the magic ring, so neat and smooth?) but I DID IT! And when my husband came into the room I threw it at him and told hm it was snowing lol!
🤣 Amazing!
Love this!!! Thank you for the tutorial!!!
Thank you so much Rachel! 🥰❄️
