If you made it this far, I have the pattern written down for you. Here we go:
Start with a magic circle or wind yarn around finger three times with end of yarn at tip of finger. Slide hook under yarn and pull third loop under the first two loops then slide off finger.
Round 1: Chain 5, counts as first double crochet, chain 2. *Double crochet through both loops, chain 2. Repeat from * four more times. Gently pull tail to gather then slip stitch into chain 5 to join.
Round 2: Chain 3 and work 3 double crochet in chain 2 space, chain 2. *Work four double crochet in next chain 2 space, chain 2. Repeat from * four more times. Join to top of chain three.
Round 3: * Slip stitch in each double crochet across to chain 2 space and slip stitch in chain 2 space. Chain 3, slip stitch, chain 5, slip stitch, chain 7, slip stitch, chain 5, slip stitch, chain 3 slip stitch, all in same chain 2 space. Repeat from * five more times, cut yarn leaving a long tail and pull through loop.
To create loop to hang, use darning needle to weave end through one of the points. Do the same with the other end and tie.
To block, you can dampen the snowflake with just water and pin at each point to a piece of cardboard and let dry. For a stiffer snowflake it can be blocked using equal parts water and glue. You can also sprinkle with glitter for a sparkly snowflake after applying the glue/water mixture

Wow! Thank you so much! Making crocheted snowflakes has always been something my grandma did for everyone in the family. She just made me, probably my last set :(, at 93 years old. I decided to try it out, to carry on her legacy, and I did it! I can't believe I just whipped one up in minutes. Thank you! Thank you! Wait until she sees it! ♥

Well you know if you can't hide behind the "Speech and Debate" Clause like our elected officials you can hide behind the "I'm a religion so you can't touch me" clause like Micheal Flynn.

The finished star you crocheted looks sorta small. How big would you say it would be after blocking it? Anyone can answer. Thx.

So, this is the first time I have ever crochet anything in my life! I had to keep scrolling back and also had to go to a tutorial about double crochet but I actually did it! I’m so pleased 😀 I made a few mistakes but if I asked anyone what they thought it was I would expect them to say ‘a snowflake ❄️!’ I’ve always wanted to crochet but been so scared with big projects like a throw or blanket so never got started. Finally managed your lovely snowflake design a few days before my 60th birthday!!! Thank you so much for the way you presented this tutorial, I’ll be looking at more once I’ve mastered the snowflake ❤

I made 12 of these over the weekend to put in Christmas cards, so much fun. Instead of a glue stiffener I thought I would try hairspray, and it worked! Just a thought for someone looking for a quicker stiffener. Thanks again!

It's such a great idea! But I didn't really understand what size of hook and yarn you used in mm. Thanks in advance;)

Just wanted to add for people, if you do this project with acrylic yarn, it should be blocked with steam, this makes it permanent for acrylic yarn :) steaming it gently by hovering your iron above it, pat it softly to make stuff go in place and let it lay for 24 hours !

Love this pattern, and the great and very clear demo! I’m making some in a metallic silver yarn as Christmas gifts. Perfect for posting to my family back in Australia - small, flat, lightweight, and easily slipped into an envelope! Thanks for sharing ☺️

Really really great tutorial! Loved the pace, angling, narrating, thoroughness, ease, and high quality production. Also agreed on the magic circle explanation - I was never really able to follow it until your video.

I love learning in a judgmental free environment, because I need several demos, and I deserve them because it just feels like love. Thank you, dear heart. I don’t feel I’m nearly 80 in such a peaceful setting.

Thanks for a great simple design. I made about 15 of these in white and pasted on a wine bottle that I had colored red... The result is beautiful. Thanks again

Thanks for this great video! You explained the 'magic ring' in a way that totally made sense and I was able to do it. The snowflake is cute and easy. Thanks again!
