I actually have a hidden gem for the GameCube of my own: Vexx, a 3D action-platformer developed and published by Acclaim and released back in 2003, is a really fun and engaging title that, IMO, is completely overlooked by many hardcore GameCube fans. It has plenty of interesting locales and challenges for you to complete, and while the difficulty can be rather frustrating at times, it more than makes up for it with some mindblowing visuals and an incredible soundtrack. I guarantee you'd love it, RetroWolf!
Gotta say I didn't realize how much I missed the gamecube content! Great video! Glad to see the channel crushing it lately but to me the gamecube content is where this channel shines the brightest!
It's amazing just how many games came out during the 6th gen and how so many of them were overlooked and passed on. Sphinx is one fantastic game and it looks gorgeous even today especially in progressive scan, always loved the saturated colors it uses in the enviroments. The Hobbit is still one that I have to hunt down considering how much I like the book and Hobbit movies. Great list of hidden gems guys!
Great video! I will say that I had heard a lot of negative surrounding The Hobbit but it was listening to you on GameCube Galaxy talk about it that convinced me to buy it. Such a great game and I thank you for the recommendation!
I bought Sphinx for the Switch, and THEN I found out that it was an older game 😁 I then bought it for PS2, but have yet to come across it for the Gamecube.
Awesome video once again. XIII is definitely a title I have been seeking and hope to get soon that I heard is an awesome FPS for that time. Nice work Brotha!
I really enjoyed your GameCube hidden gems video and eventually I would not mind checking out the original 13 video game that came out thanks for the recommendation.
Bro I have so many memories playing the Hobbit as a kid. We were moving and I was staying at my best friend's house for the weekend and we played this game non stop. I picked this up in February at a video game convention in Toronto and beat it again. Gotta love the nostalgia
Out of all the GameCube hidden gems the one game I really do want to play at some point is definitely The Hobbit because as you may recall I am a very much a fan of JRR Tolkien and the Lord of the rings I love the world and mythology that tolkien has brought us a love the movies and I have also read The Hobbit book before and since you did say this is very closely to the book I would definitely want to play The Hobbit out of all of them. You should also recommended for DieHard Tolkien fans who also really did love the Lord of the rings books and the Lord of the rings movies or anything that Tolkien has brought out.
Great video! My hidden gem is The Third Age which is Lord of the Rings meets Final Fantasy turn based combat. The story has you playing parallel with events from the movie trilogy. This title also released on the PS2.
Gladius is so damn fun! I love Sphinx as well…have it on the Cube and digital on Switch but generally prefer the former in 480p on a good CRT with that sweet old controller. Was playing that quite a bit a few months ago. I only gave XIII a real chance at your (Matt’s) recommendation, and I’m quite fond of it now.
Great video. While everyone was playing ratchet and clank and jak and daxter I was trying to find something comparable for gamecube at that time. I came across a game that was on all the systems but I had gamecube. I feel it was a hidden gem on gamecube and that game was metal arms glitch in the system. It really filled that spot in on my gamecube that I felt I was missing while my friends on ps2 and xbox were playing those other titles
I’m still shocked that Sphinxs hasn’t gotten a proper sequel THQNordic should definitely do one i mean the HD port probably sold well I assume and the ending needs to be resolved so a sequel it’s needed such a hidden gem and an amazing game that I thought was amazing
I gotta ask I’m sure I’m not alone on these questions.. are you married? How do you manage to make time inbetween employment to have $$ to do these conventions? Like I said I’m active duty 11 yrs married going through a divorce , haven’t had much time but I still collect when I can and play.. just curious bro I wish I had the time and $$
I am married yes. I make time because I have prioritized RUclips over all my other hobbies and side gigs and going to game conventions is huge for our content. As far as the money that part is a struggle lol. I barely manage that but I make it work by hustling on some side gigs
@@RetroWolf88 appreciate the prompt reply, money is a lot easier to manage when you are single I can’t wait, no hard feelings between she and I it’s mutual after 9 yrs of marriage.. enough about that I feel you man I’ve resold a couple times I try to only make purchases of items for my collection or if I’m gifting it to a buddy of mine. I think last thing I bought was an earthworm Jim toy for myself lol
Some great hidden gems highlighted here, and glad to add 1 here too! Thanks again for having me join in on this topic, Matt!
Thanks for joining!!

GameCube Gems With The Gamecube Master Retro Wolf
The Hobbit looks like the Lego games we have now like Harry Potter, etc.
It is alot different than the Lego games. I like it alot better than those personally
I bought Sphinx for the Switch, and THEN I found out that it was an older game 😁
I then bought it for PS2, but have yet to come across it for the Gamecube.
Thr GameCube version is definitely becoming harder to find

Dude that is really awesome to hear!! I wish I had played this game back then, I discovered it as an adult. Better late than never!
Evolution Snowboarding looks like a game I’d enjoy !
I still need to play that one!

The hobbit has a cool speed running history video
Nice!

A sequel would be amazing!
Were you talkin about both The Hobbit movies and the game and the book to.
I need a GameCube
Check eBay they are still pretty affordable
There’s a newer remaster of XIII that’s faithful to the original. I have it physically on switch!
Yeah unfortunately they botched the performance and it is a buggy mess. It is a shame because I was really excited about it
XIII is so good
Agreed!
