Lol I have a morning shed of necessary items: top retainer, bottom retainer, left wrist brace, right wrist brace, weighted thing around my waist, and last but certainly not least, my dog who is almost always resting his fat head on my bladder 😂
I remember a tweet of a woman going to bed with everything necessary for a morning shed, and captioning it with something like "Doing all of this because I love myself". Someone responded with "Do you?". I think it sums up this trend quite well. Also, how is the "double cleanse" of hair a new trend? I've been doing it since the beginning. It was recommended by all my hairdressers. Once for getting rid of most of the dirt, another time to finish up cleaning and get the effects the shampoo promises (nutrition, hydration, etc). It might not be necessary if you wash your hair everyday, but if you don't, like me, it's a given.
My hair is much less greasy since I started to double cleans my hair. First shampoo to get products etc. out of my hair second to get a clean scalp and the rest of the grease out.
is shampoo hydrating?? I double cleanse bc I wash my hair once a week, maybe twice. so my hair really does need it, especially if it's saturated in coconut oil
Yeah the farmacy sleep mask and Kiehls midnight recovery is all I can commit to. We had a grown up slumber party and tried the collagen melt masque almost all of us peeled them off in our sleep 😂
Former stylist here. It is beneficial for many people to double cleanse their hair. Some women are going 3+ days between shampoos, using products, and using sulfate free products. Most shampoos will not do the trick with a single shampoo these days. It doesn't have to be a process, just use a tiny amount of shampoo initially. Take your time on the second shampoo and RINSE WELL. Every other product you use will work better if your hair is appropriately washed, and 80% of my clients weren't washing well enough.
I have fine hair that gets greasy after like 2 or 3 days. I however choose to only wash it every 3 to 4 days. Partly because I'm lazy but also because I've noticed that my fine hair really enjoys the benefits of sebum. It is way healthier now than it was when I used to wash it whenever it would start to get greasy. With that being said, since I'm letting some sebum build up before washing, double shampooing is necessary. With the first one I remove the excess of sebum and with the second one I wash it properly
I’m confused - are people only doing one wash with shampoo? I thought that shampoo is where the saying “rinse, repeat” comes from. I’ve always shampooed my hair twice per wash. I find that the first wash strips out the oils/products (and so it doesn’t lather as much) and the second one gets out anything I may have missed in the first one. Conditioner after.
@@eponymouscharacter same I thought everyone knew this, my hair is definitely not clean after the 1st wash no matter how much time I spend massaging it in. The 2nd wash is not optional for me
I always felt like "glass skin" as it's promoted in KBeauty is more about smooth texture, small pores, etc, and less about being, like, ✨️shiny✨️. I'm always so confused when people talk about it like that.
You know when you've used a cleanser that's too strong and your face gets a bit shiny and tight? I think of Korean glass skin as being like "now what it that felt good, and acted like real skin". It's the glowing, smooth, plump, flawless skin but it lasts all day because it's your actual skin, not because you're greased up more than a wrestling pig.
@@SairWithTheHairWhat do you mean by the phrase that you put in quotations? I am so confused when trying to read it out loud😂 do you mean what if? That makes more sense to me. I'm recovering from a brain injury so type errors can be confusing😂.
@nadiahassan5307 it doesn't mean it's fake just because it worked for someone else and not you. I haven't shampood my hair in two weeks and I have no oil build up due to my natural care routine. I only wash my face once per week and I don't have to fight oil or dry skin. Personal care has been around for thousands of years, and some of the old ways work better and are more affordable.
I'm with you. As a vegetarian I'm horrified by this trend, and it is a trend. But each to their own. I'm confident in my skincare routine, so did not follow this fat application trend.
My eczema as a kid caused me to have like a really strict and annoying skin care routine and seeing people willingly do these exhausting looking “morning shed” routines makes me go bonkers. Like all i wanted as a kid was to not have to have such a long routine and seeing people now over doing it for no reason is just wild to me Ok that’s my soapbox lol
Oops, forgot to mention in my first comment: Taping the mouth while sleeping is not without its risks, and is definitely NOT recommended by pulmonary specialists. It's a dangerous trend that should die. Only do it after conferring with your doctor, or preferably a specialist.
I have a terrible deviated septum and am a total mouth breather for that reason so I would actually die 😂😮💨 every time I see someone with mouth tape it gives me heart palpitations
I tried it and it did not work for me at all but I’m shocked that I loved starting a sleep mask. The big kitsch pillow one. I say listen to your body. If you’re peeling it off because you feel like you can’t breathe don’t do it. I felt like I couldn’t breathe and I bet I couldn’t.
I can definitely see how that could lead to Right Wing Craziness. I'm into the clean and natural stuff, but I will always be that goofy Leftie, Eco-conscious Earth-worshipper.
Double shampooing have been advised for a really long time, more specifically if you do not wash your hair everyday, if you are using a shampoo with active, are in your puberty, etc etc. It’s base on very logical arguments I find. Of course it’s not always necessary, and depends on your scalp needs. I’ve personally been exfoliating my scalp with salicylic acid since my teen years(some 30 years ago) and always in a double shampooing method.
I was just coming here to say this. I've been taught to double shampoo for years & have been. I have 4a/4b/3c hair so I don't wash my hair as much as others because my hair doesn't need it but I need to double shampoo to prevent product buildup on my scalp. It just depends on how your hair needs to be cared for.
My hair is super coiled. I would double shampoo and condition because the first would never penetrate to my scalp because of how tight the coils were. The water literally rolled off like on a duck! It also worked as a deep conditioner without the price tag because I could also use a skin exfoliator without just standing around in the water
And if you use a lot of products that could build up. Washing twice a week and using mousse or a root lifter for your blow dry then dry shampoo in between? Yes double shampooing is a great thing to try. Daily washing, where you air dry your hair and wear it without product? Single shampoo will probably be fine. It's not just a scam to sell more products and there's objective truth in there.
yeah i have pin straight hair and don’t use much product and i still double shampoo 3 times a week. (with still shampooing almost daily) once a week i use a scalp mask and a hair mask, then follow up with double shampoo and full condition. Straight hair, gets greasy fast no matter what I do, so to keep my hair healthy and voluminous, this is what I do.
Same here, I actually use a murad salicylic acid face wash on my scalp😂 after I use anti damdruff shampoo throughout my scalp and length of hair😂 Then I apply a light conditioner to the very end so my hair, and when I get out of the shower while my hair is still damp I dab organic raw lanolin on my scalp. I do this because I have really sensitive scalp that gets extra flaky if I don't hyper moisturize it😅
I just watched some girl’s 20 STEP HAIRCARE ROUTINE a couple hours ago & nearly rolled my eyes outta the back of my head😩 Miss ma’am put on all this product, like hair oil, then immediately got into the shower & shampooed it all out again. Wut. Like the morning shed business, I’m sure 80% of it is purely social media fantasy, but it still makes enough people believe it’s real & actually necessary and that makes me despair for humanity. Overconsumption & bs beauty trends need to sit the f**k down in 2025.
I used to be into copying stuff that I would read about in magazines back in middle school, this totally reminds me of the same energy only way overdone😂 we would make the avocado and egg white masks, the cucumber slices on the eyes, all that type of stuff😂
I have also found hair oil before shampoo stupid, but some people say it can be useful: if you have especially dry ends, it can help from making your hair even drier from shampoo. Never tried, because i don't have that problem, but yeah, maybe not stupid? Idk
@wloff7113I've definitely used it after, especially with brushing or blow drying, but before is confusing to me. If someone's hair is dry enough that they need to pre-oil, then they should probably just skip shampooing instead.
I've had advice to use hair oil on bleached tips before shampooing, specifically to prevent dry, damaged bleached hair to get too much more damaged, but outside that incredibly specific situation (or some truly awful tangling) it's going to either negate all the benefits of hair oil or all the benefits of shampooing.
I reached my 2024 goal of not being a Rouge this year. I over spent at Sephora for 3 years and had to cut back on my spending habits. I bought 1 eye shadow pallette in 2024 and it was an ELF one from Walmart. This year I am only getting what I need.
I definitely fell into this trap with skincare, makeup and perfume. I spent so money smh it makes me mad lol. I have downsized significantly and only stick with things I actually like. I no longer follow the trends I just do my makeup how I actually like to wear it which is light and natural, skincare is minimal and effective and I keep 2 perfumes in rotation until I finish both bottles before pulling out a new one.
I fell into hair stuff. Back in august 2024 I think I had almost 50 bottles of conditioners, oils, and all that sh!t. I'm really trying to end as many things as I can and sometimes people leave my house with some gifts.

Kasia Gromek uses tallow...and also has a degree in the chemistry field. Having MADE her ancient Roman recipe for kohl with a tallow base I can verify that if it stinks you did it wrong. History research into the old recipes has shown many of us that there was more science in the alchemy of ancient skin care and cosmetics than most people realize. When you go through all the steps to properly handle tallow for non-food including adding antimicrobial plants and resins, some formulas out preform your average commercial product in nearly every way but shelf life. The downside is that you have to make it from scratch, and that can take days, weeks, or even months to get it right, but it's an amazing learning experience if you can make the time.
I think the reason for the double shampoo is because shampooing is meant to target the scalp and the oil/dirt there so we treat that skin the same way we treat the skin on our face with the double cleanse. This has helped my hair very oily hair stay cleaner for longer, but might not be necessary for everyone. Love the video though!
I agree! My hair is so thick that if I don’t double shampoo I’d struggle to properly wash the middle of my scalp without a ton of product. I’d never buy a specific shampoo or two different shampoos for double washing though. Just use my regular one twice in a row
As someone with type 4 hair I’m genuinely having a hard time believing people are only washing their hair once, 3x is usually the standard for me and everyone I know 😵💫.
The whole "morning shed" thing will forever remind me of an old print campaign for a brand of jeans that was just increasingly ridiculous ways to stop aging, "Don't Smile". "Reincarnate into a New You" "Clone yourself to Share the Burden". Twenty somethings really need to get over their fear of a smile line and a tiny crow's foot. (Sidenote: All the product branding for Squid Game Season 2 seems gross and completely the opposite of what the first season was trying to say. You live long enough and capitalism eats the rebellion).
Plus Mr Beast making that show a reality, obviously without actually killing people, but a millionaire turning around and saying "haha what a great idea for a show!" Is like.. hello. That's.. what we don't need! That's the opposite of what you should take away from the show.
Squid Game tangent that got quite long! I'm playing Disco Elysium at the moment, and one character makes the point that "capital has the ability to subsume all critiques into itself. Even those who would critique capital end up reinforcing it instead". That sounds like a strength but it's also a huge weakness. On the one hand, it's awful seeing the show's entire point being twisted against itself for the sake of consumerism. On the other, the fact that it's become so wildly/widely promoted means it's likely to reach more people than it otherwise would have, so the intended message will get more of a chance to be heard despite everything. Capitalism eats the rebellion but the pieces of it are still in there, building up over time. Like microplastics, idk
Hair vitamins drive me nuts. When I see people say they have taken them for 2 weeks and feel like their hair is more soft and shiny. Not how that works at all. And the companies make massive amounts of money selling stuff that yeah in theory may help but the marketing is ALWAYS deceptive. It actually has to grow out of your head first 😂
They are also expensive, if you look at what vitamins etc that they contain you can buy them cheaper. You just pay extra for the marketing and convenience of having them all in one tablet.
B vitamins and biotin are part of healthy hair. You get these in a balanced diet though. People with certain health conditions shouldn't consume too much biotin though. Most people can benefit their hair and skin by just eating a healthy diet.
The audacity in saying there is no money in the food (beef) industry. Like the largest beef farming organizations from Brazil (which controls a lot of the beef industry in the US) makes a looooot of money and is one of the biggest threats to the Amazon rainforest. Miss me with the notion that these other industries are immune to corruption and obscene greed.
For sure. The meat industry is responsible for so much suffering among humans and animals alike, but the animals for sure got the short end of the stick. The gang violence, corruption and environmental destruction going on in the amazonian rainforest is beyond description
Thank fck I just watched this 🙌❤ I've not got tiktok I'm 53. I stay in my lane on Facebook 😂 but I saw the Australian woman that was selling tallow & her skin looked all shiny & amazing (that was as far as my ethics went ) she didn't say that it stinks tho. I gave up alcohol 15 years ago & scent is my spideysense now. I couldn't cope.... I make sure my whole world has a vanilla or sweet scent flowing through it as much as is physically possible 💕💕💛 this would've given me the absolute heave. You're an angel 😘💖
Shampoo has said "rinse and repeat" since I can remember and for us curly hair girls or people who use a lot of products for styling need to wash more than once and I have also heard for years about the difference in brands or that you should only buy it from a salon because it's "watered down" elsewhere (not that I ever follow that one)
My dad is pretty mad because all of these people are driving up the price of beef tallow and he can’t make his bird blocks anymore(blocks of tallow mixed with various nuts and seeds and berries and sometimes even dried insects that he puts in bird feeders so he can watch the birds)
I *do* wash my hair twice, but, I am curly, I use silicone/sulphate free products, I notice the difference in suds on the first wash and the 2nd, and I can literally go like a month without feeling greasy (yay, depression trained my scalp 🫥), though 7 days would be frizzy, 11 days would start matting at the nape of my neck/back of head. Never done a sulphate shampoo twice though, makes my hair feel squeaky.
Standing in the nude in my bathroom doing my skin care and having a whole ass conversation with you 😂 when you mentioned double shampooing, I've been nearly shamed by a colleague that my hair isn't properly clean with only one go
I find myself not falling into this because I think a lot before I make purchases if I really want them or not and then I wait for a deal or a coupon or the clearance section. I never pay full price for anything.
Just wanted to drop in a little info as a future hairstylist in cosmo school, double shampooing is great for targeting non-damaged oily hair, dandruff caused by hair products or just women who use a lot of products and are prone to product buildup on scalp. and in a styling perspective it gives more volume by removing just that extra bit of oil the second time. Double shampooing would not be recommended (at least by me) for damaged hair, fine hair, dry/brittle hair, hair that is not naturally excessively oily, or hair that is already washed regularly. Ofc I’m not the messiah of hair but I do like to double shampoo after toning my hair/ any chemical process as well, it can be harsh on hair but it’s even harsher to leave remnants of active chemicals. I watch all your videos and it’s actually helped my skin so much!! ❤
My mother has minimal wrinkles, a beautiful glow, and almost NO acne marks. Her secret? Olay lotion (SPF version) and Dove soap! Seriously, she does not buy any other products and has been using these for years. Sure, genes play a role but people have told her she looks like she is in her early 50s and she is 65!
Girl I feel you. No matter what I do, several years into a skincare ~journey~ & my cheeks are still perma-flushed.. in a blotchy way, not a delicately blushed way😒 Eventually I just sighed & put “glass skin” in the unattainable category.
Not giving medical advice but talk to your GP about low dose aspirin once a day. I have rosacea and Multiple Sclerosis, both causing flushing. My neuro prescribed low dose aspirin (available OTC) every morning and my flushing from both MS and rosacea has decreased drastically!
You can have glass skin and have acne at the same time, plus GREEN COLOR-CORRECTOR/BB-CREAM IS YOUR FRIEND!!! I am also very pale and have problems with rosacea. I use the Elf green color corrector instead of foundation. Best decision I ever made.
I find it interesting that you stated, and I’m paraphrasing, “we’ve all been using “drug store shampoo and we’ve been fine”. For a very long time I have not been fine using drugstore shampoo, so far as getting blisters on my scalp using normal shampoos like Suave. The only route that finally worked for me after years of trial and error was to use a high end gentler brand of clarifying shampoo. The hairdresser I talked to who clued me in on this knew exactly what I needed because she’s been educated on these things and had seen problems like mine. Now I’m not saying everyone has a problem with drugstore shampoo, but plenty of people do, and I do think we need more education regarding what we put on our scalp.
You can always donate it to women's shelters! Beauty and self care products are the most sought after ones because they are rarely donated. You could really make a difference for people in those shelters!
my main battle is just *doing* my skincare morning & night regularly; i don’t use too many products but remembering + having the motivation just cleansing my skin daily is what makes the most difference. that and being sanitary every time i touch my face (wash hands before routine, disinfecting tools & bathroom touch points regularly), washing my pillow case weekly, using a clean cloth to dry my face, etc. i’m abt to be 29 and still get hormonal acne & generally have oily skin. i use micellar water as 1st cleanser, +gentle foaming cerave dupe for wash at night. hydrating milky toner OR salicylic acid pad, my thicc ponds dry skin cream, sunscreen. i need to get some more of my retinol serum but that’s the only other active i use at the moment. keep it simple, and consistency + sanitation is the key ❤
It’s so interesting hearing about the connection between “natural” beauty/skincare and the far right abroad, I feel like where I live it’s the opposite, the far left are the ones consuming and pushing the “natural” beauty and ingredients. Interesting to know! If I used beef tallow I know I would clog my entire face and get breakouts instantly plus essential oils are a huge no for my face!
I really think it's the conspiracy theory thing like James said. The fear of "chemicals" without an understanding of chemicals. Not trusting anything because it's all part of their plan, whoever it is with the plan. It's a surprise because like you it's always been the left that I see doing the natural lifestyle for decades now, but suddenly the far right are doing the very same things they mocked, and more!
I think it's part of the overall "tradlife" the far right are trying to push (especially in the US, but it's making its may in Europe as well) Like : "A woman's place is at home baking everything from scratch for the kids using only "natural" ingredients and of course the skincare must follow the same rules" Cannot think of any creator's name of the top of my head but they are plenty out there pushing this sort of narrative ; though one I do enjoy watching from time to time is @reallyverycrunchy because she makes fun of herself being that way 🤓
That's really interesting! We don't even have a far left here. And of course there's nothing at ALL wrong with using natural products, but the science has to back up the ingredients!
When I was in my clean living era (ugh) I was literally putting fermented cod liver oil on my face. I was really greasy and it just never settled in. And it was expensive as shit. But yeah almost all of clean/organic eating and living is routed in self righteousness and using the objects you buy to correct your sins and misgivings.
2:10 I agree! No way these people actually sleep wearing all those items. I lump these people together with those people who always restock various kinds of ice in their fridges. These are the videos that when I watch, I keep thinking: WHO DOES THIS?!
Thank you for pointing out the link between "clean" beauty and far far right movements. Its so so odd but i noticed rhe same trend (and I'm not on tiktok). Most probably fie to the misinformation ( I really don't get why these people don't cross and fact check). This is so bizarre. The beef tallow movement is another one that i just can't.and i love nature but without science I'm not putting bee wax, olive oil, rosemary calendula flowers and make a dish put of my face. Science is needed and required. There's a reason for human longevity. It's called science.
I really organized my bathroom right before the holidays and was shocked at the amount of creams, masks, toothpastes, etc. that were lying around. My resolution is to clear out the expired products, then use up what I have before I buy any more. I'm still pretty new to a regular skincare routine, but I'm starting to slow down and figure out what works for me
the collagen gelmask they put overnight 😅 skin not breathing, sweat thats build up during night, same sleepposition the whole night? yeah, that's a no for me
I agree on most parts of this but double shampooing is actually really beneficial if you use a lot of products (heat spray, dry shampoo, curl cream, etc) and wash your hair every couple of days. While people do go a bit over the top with a 20 step hair care routine, I had incredibly damaged hair from dying and heat styling and creating a haircare routine has massively improved the health and appearance of my hair. For me I use a pre shampoo oil, wait at least 30 mins, then double shampo, bond repair if I have time, hair mask, conditioner and leave in conditioner when I'm out of the shower and when its dry, a tint bit of oil. It might sound excessive to some but my hair was so brittle and damaged and now its much softer and stronger. I don't need to use a bond repair product every wash anymore because I was dilligent with it for months and genuinely think it did repair my hair.
Omg the trend that needs to go is the product scanning apps. Working in the retail skin industry and so much of my job is explaining and educating people on how those apps are not actually helping them/giving misleading information.
Okay, why did James’s voice just stop my toddler in his tracks (he was throwing a tantrum) causing him to look and giggle? ❤ Thank you for both the information and helping inadvertently with my toddler! He loves your videos. 😂❤
@@magiegainey5036exactly! He’s about to turn 2 and has been going crazy except when James’s voice comes on the TV. 😂 Hubby finds it hilarious too how our toddler recognizes James voice and sometimes will come running into the living room to watch. He’ll drop/bring whatever it is he’s doing just to see the TV 😂❤.
My dentist recommended mouth tape to reduce gum sensitivity. My bit guard makes it hard to keep my mouth closed at night, and I was getting a lot of gum issues, but even just a strip of paper tape makes a big difference.
I absolutely love Bringgreen!!! I went this summer for the first time to ROK and got obsessed with their green sunscreen cushion compact collab with Baskin Robbins! So good for my red AF face.
I’ve always double shampooed I always got taught it too when I trained at a hairdresser First one gets rid of dirt Second to clean the scalp But if you wash daily you don’t need to
I really hope people start to drop calling hair "healthy" or "unhealthy," hair is not a living thing like skin is. It can be damaged and there are products that can repair or mask the damage but it's not "unhealthy" if it's damaged.
I don't know if it's the pleasant voice or the handsome face, but I always feel like you and your brother are giving me sincere advice when I watch your videos ❤
Omg the beef tallow trend irked me so much 😭 you were spot on with the type of demographic who promotes it & I think I know which influencer you were talking about lmao
So so glad I am not the only one, nor other watchers, who think that morning shed stuff is dystopian and a level of insecurity that shouldn't be normalised. Please live your life and stop wasting money on trying to look 20 forever. I will sleep better than them bc I am not covered in stuff
beef in general is sooo associated with the right, i’m glad you brought it up! i first noticed people leaning into beef as a backlash to veganism/environmentalism, which are both like left-associated topics. i didn’t know that it had made its way into skincare, but it completely makes sense combined with the clean beauty anti-science mentality like you said!
I remember watching one of those "carnivore influencer" guys eat like every awful part of a cow raw, and then grossly rub the fat on his face. It was so performative in an animalistic way: seeing it genuinely penetrate the beauty scene is the last thing that I expected.
The morning shed trend is so incredibly depressing. I saw a women's video that had the description "the uglier you go to bed, the more beautiful you wake up". These types of products have been around since before the 30/40s, still trying to bank on someone's insecurity of themselves. The most helpful thing for your appearance is a fulfilling sleep. Frownies, neck and chin shaping masks, nose slimmers, anti-wrinkle straws, side-sleeper pillows, eye masks, mouth tape ect. Please just eat healthy and rest your body. It's begging you to be more gentle with it.
all that stuff sounds like it would disrupt your sleep really badly, thus nullifying their efforts and wasting product, because sleep is what recovers you
As someone who sleep on their stomach I could never, none of that would stay on to the morning What I hope to be my new habit for the new year is actually using cuticle oil consistently every night, I do my own nails so hopefully it will be easier this way and all the little liften things on the skin around it reduce. What I wanna see more in 2025 is scalp care bc I really need some help with that
To people who feel the need to shampoo twice, I encourage them to section their hair. I section mine in to 4-6 parts and wash accordingly. It guarantees a thorough cleaning the first time around
I've been told to double shampoo since I was a child by hairdresser. Like upwards of 20 years, works for my oily hair. Shocked people have just discovered this
I think about this all the time! Overconsumtion has really tainted the skincare world and honestly made me kinda not love skincare as much. The only positive from it, for me , is it has really made me want to simplify and minimize my routine more than ever before because I HATE the overconsumtion so much and want to be as far away from that world possible!
Made me grateful of how distant I am from TikTok…nvr heard of the beef tallow trend. I’m a veggie anyways. As far as natural goes, give me ALL the chemicals, just make my skin smooth😂
I know this won’t be everyone, but those morning shed girlies when they hit peri/menopause- That spider farting in the bathroom has destroyed my sleep pattern AND FOR GODS SAKE GET THIS S**T OFF ME 😂
Not even gonna lie. I definitely impulse bought a BUNCH of skincare only to find out I'm allergic to niacinamide, which is in most of my recently bought skincare. So now I'm giving stuff away. I even bought your VT Reedle Box only to find out it has niacinamide. 😅 My friends are gonna be getting a lot of skincare for the new year. 😂
I'm allergic to niacinamide as well, although I didn't buy much stuff. I felt so gaslighted because everywhere it says that you cannot be allergic to it and that it was probably purging, until I saw a video by Dr Idris that said that high concentrations can be irritating so I stopped it. Now I use a moisturizer that has a small amount of it and my skin is doing great
@Betakitten87 niacinamide can also sometimes be called nicatinamide, Vitamin B3, Pyridine-3-carboxamide, 3-Pyridinecarboxamide, Nicotinic acid amide, or Pellagra-preventing factor. So look out for that too!
@JamesWelsh so far I like the cosrx propolis toner. I also have been using the Peach and Lily KP body scrub on my face sometimes, and just standard Oil of Olay moisturizer. Currently looking for a niacinamide free and fragrance free (due to migraines) cleanser.
I'm not sure if this was discussed already but I saw recently about how to make your body smell good and lasts longer, use body lotions and body powder (talc free since the Felce Azzurra body powder contains talc). I'm overwhelmed!
what is crazy about the morning shed is that there is no way they get a full night's sleep - which there is nothing more "wrinkle" smoothing than 9 hrs of uninterrupted sleep. So that is what I use, more precisely 10 hrs of sleep (next to peptides and retinal for the night at age 38 - looking like 25 according to other people, I cannot say I agree, but this is what they think) Beef talo: just use vaseline ffs.
Wait! I had no idea sleeping on your back could help with vertical go - just looked it up. I am a diehard fetal position side sleeper but I may have to try learning to sleep on my back.
Yesss on your back and slightly elevated apparently. I’m a side sleeper too but sometimes when my head is not supported properly I just know I’m gonna wake up dizzy
I can think of a few people who could use mouth tape, all day 😂. I taught myself to back sleep a few years ago, because of shoulders, yes. But also wrinkles, and its fixed those. It takes a lot of getting used to, i find a low pillow under my knees helps, and totally recommend Simba pillow with nano blocks. I am single so I have the benefit of flinging my limbs all over the bed! 😂
James I seriously can’t stand these “natural” influencers 🙃 so many say that the sun doesn’t cause cancer and that sunscreen instead causes it. So terrible !!!!!!
My uncle would disagree with them. He's worked outside all his life and had a few cancerous chunks of skin removed. I don't think he was using sunscreen in his younger years. These days, he hides from the sun like a vampire. Even on vacation in Florida. He was under an umbrella or in the shade the whole time.
Beef tallow?! 🤢 That's what they used to make candles from in the olden times if they were poor and couldn't afford good candles. They absolutely stank, and were horrible for the health.
When it comes to the topic of hair, I've been so "basic" that I think some times, "oh I should be doing more. Am I missing something?" But like... my hair is great. I don't and never have had an issue with my hair, so why am I thinking about changing it? And I think people have to approach these sorts of things. i LOVE bringgreen! i've been to korea for the first time this year and got myself a lovely hyalu serum at olive young and have been loving it ever since
The only thing i feel i disagree with (nit for everyone I know) is tye double hairwash. I always eash my hair twice, the first time it barely even lathers, the second it does. Ive got depression and probably wash my hair maybe once a week 🙈. Double washing with the same shampoo really helps. But i know everyone is different. Ne and my daughter shared a just my look advent calendar over Christmas and we're really enjoying the k beauty skincare x
Honestly do whatever works for you! Just mentioning that it’s not a necessity the way brands are now portraying it to be and linking it to it having the same effects as a double cleanse for the skin!
Yea I personally have found a lot of success with the double shampoo method, in general due to my afro hair ive been taking the time to relearn what works and what doesnt, running lil experiments and what not, I find shampooing once doesnt get rid of all the product build-up but second time is the charm, especially with the moisturizing shampoo i have
Same here, I use Redken and the first wash barely lathers, the second wash lathers like crazy, using way less shampoo than I used to. I follow The Blowout Professor for my haircare routine and my hair has been transformed in the last year.
I was going to say, I and sure the first it to start lifting dirt/oil and the second is to clean. I think it's normally X2 as you should also not be using as much product when doing each step.. which I am sure we are all guilty of! Equally, I agree it's stupid to treat hair and and skin as the same thing. It's a totally different thing. A bit like using a cracked heel cream on your face. It just won't do what you want it to do, even though both technically moisturise.
Great video, I disagree on the double shampooing however. As someone with a really oily scalp it has helped me get rid of buildup more effectively and now I can even go 1-2 days without washing my hair. This has been impossible since before my teenage years. Obviously it's not something I do every time and I don't use giant amounts of product for each wash, but it can definitely help!
I used to double shampoo my hair when it was 14 inches long because otherwise the shampoo didn't clean it enough. I don't anymore now that it's short because it makes no difference.
Double washing your hair isn’t all that stupid imo. For people with really greasy hair like me or people who use a lot of products in their hair, double washing just ensures that you’re getting everything off. Because at the end of the day, yes, you’re washing your hair, but you’re also washing your scalp, which is skin. I do it and definitely can see and feel the difference
Yeah this has always been the thought process, but a double shampoo isn’t always necessary to ensure a clean scalp and hair ( see the video in my pinned comment) but it spends on your own hair etc. I mean that it’s not the necessity that a lot of brands are making it seem it is
Slightly odd, but I love the captions on RUclips. When you were talking about beef tallow and you said "the big pharma conspiracy", the captions came up as "the big farmer conspiracy"! I'm just visualising this giant farmer stealing back all of the beef tallow so that they have to buy "chemicals"! Xx
The wash twice (shampoo) thing has been on their bottles for years. Long before social media. But people used to think, oh that's a scam. I do find washing my hair twice helpful. But I uave a lot of hair and I like to make sure my scalp is clean
I double shampoo my hair if I have left it too long between washes or if I want it to be extra clean, the second shampoo just makes sure you get rid of all the leftover oils and my hair always feels way cleaner when it's double shampooed. However, most of the time I cannot be arsed with it!
I like to sleep on my back, but I was having migraines and went to a neurologist at UCLA. He told me that for several reasons related to the brain and the heart, he would never sleep on his back. I’m in my thirties too, so I slept on my back to avoid shoulder pain, but they told me to use a cylinder shaped pillow full of organic beads that fills in the hollow of the neck when sleeping on my side. It has helped tremendously and I have no neck or back pain. It might be worth looking up 😊
I just started a new skincare routine of just 1 face wash and a beeftallow moisturizer and a sample size of pimple cream. I can't imagine going back to over 10 products
Well I don’t know what you’re referencing to about the double shampooing. But this is the first time I’ve ever disagreed with you. - Love your content btw♥😘 I’ve struggled with dandruff for a long time, and double shampooing with the right shampoos has helped me out a lot. Also, my hair was often frizzy, and since I started a curly girl routine (no alcohols, sulphates or silicones) it’s more defined and wavy. So yeah, in my experience looking out for the right ingredients in your hair care, can have a major impact.
I double shampoo, and I nearly always have. But I live in a humid hot climate, I am oily, and I swim in a chlorine pool a lot. It really depends on your lifestyle, hair type, and where you live.
The idea that the beef fat has to be grass-fed is pretty hilarious to me. The cows love their grain and sweet-feed, which can also help build up some fat. There's no reason not to use a fatty animal if you're just... harvesting the fat. A little treat now and then is good for them xD
hmmmm agree with everything but the double shampooing, you should definitely be shampooing twice if you have long hair or an oily scalp. It's very rare that the first wash is going to get everything off.
I have textured hair, right on the line between wavy and curly, and live in one of the areas in the US with the hardest water and always double cleanse my hair here. But I also use dish soap to do it, so don’t ask me lol
I have Always used bar soap to clean my face, witch hazel and then oil of Olay moisturizer, that's it, and everyone thinks I'm 10 years younger than I am. Never had major acne issues and I'm not sagging or wrinkling
More info on why you dont necessarily have to wash your hair twice of course from Michelle aka lab muffin: ruclips.net/video/gLttCDPCADY/видео.htmlsi=JQMRfRjq6FE-gKnZ
Dr Maxfeild mentioned you in his latest live on Doctorly 💖 about 44 minutes in....
Lol I have a morning shed of necessary items: top retainer, bottom retainer, left wrist brace, right wrist brace, weighted thing around my waist, and last but certainly not least, my dog who is almost always resting his fat head on my bladder 😂
What is the weighed thibg on your waist?
Lol
@@KRUKOLIBIDINOUSit took me a sec to realize she was preggers too
Serious question: are you a sleepwalker? That was the first thing I thought of in why you need to have weights on you.
@@talkichik no thank god, more of a sleep screamer/kicker 😂
I think the hair thing is also based on your skin and hair type. If I did a double wash, my hair would shatter like glass.
I have never been told to double shampoo but I appreciate the advice
My hair is much less greasy since I started to double cleans my hair. First shampoo to get products etc. out of my hair second to get a clean scalp and the rest of the grease out.
is shampoo hydrating?? I double cleanse bc I wash my hair once a week, maybe twice. so my hair really does need it, especially if it's saturated in coconut oil
morning shed - "no one is actually doing this." exactly. its just eye-catching for content. just slug and move on with your life!
I can’t even commit to wearing my mouthguard at night lol
I can't imagine waking up next to someone who does that
@CrystalValentin-ml4ph I know. it's bad enough with my CPAP machine.
Right! I’ve been mixing a bit of cerave healing ointment with my moisturizer and calling it a day
Yeah the farmacy sleep mask and Kiehls midnight recovery is all I can commit to.
I will say I absolutely noticed a difference in my fine oily hair when I started double shampooing.
I do a double shampoo if needed. I judge it as I wash, so not everytime 😊
I think also the translucency, like light shining from within
Dewy for life
You know when you've used a cleanser that's too strong and your face gets a bit shiny and tight? I think of Korean glass skin as being like "now what it that felt good, and acted like real skin".
It's the glowing, smooth, plump, flawless skin but it lasts all day because it's your actual skin, not because you're greased up more than a wrestling pig.
@@SairWithTheHairWhat do you mean by the phrase that you put in quotations? I am so confused when trying to read it out loud😂 do you mean what if? That makes more sense to me. I'm recovering from a brain injury so type errors can be confusing😂.

I don't know what you would have to pay me to put beef tallow on my face, but I for sure would not do it for free.
😂😂😂
Jen Luv tried tallow and it cleared up her skin. Sometimes simpler is better.
@@evamei9030Yeah, that is clearly fake. If you actually believe that, I have the Pacific Ocean to sell you.
Like all i wanted as a kid was to not have to have such a long routine and seeing people now over doing it for no reason is just wild to me
Ok that’s my soapbox lol
Oops, forgot to mention in my first comment: Taping the mouth while sleeping is not without its risks, and is definitely NOT recommended by pulmonary specialists. It's a dangerous trend that should die. Only do it after conferring with your doctor, or preferably a specialist.
I have a terrible deviated septum and am a total mouth breather for that reason so I would actually die 😂😮💨 every time I see someone with mouth tape it gives me heart palpitations
Some nights my nose gets blocked and for some reason I don’t open my mouth, so I wake up gasping. If my mouth was taped I’d seriously panic.
My nose gets stuffy so often at night I’d probably half suffocate to death constantly and wake myself up. Sounds dangerous
My morning shed is getting my dog and cat up and off the bed when I need to get ready for work

Nice! Good on you 💖
Proud of you
Yes!! Go you Marie 🙌🏻
The perfume one is such a trap, there's only so much you can get through before it goes off and it's often super expensive

Those blue teddy bear gummy’s from 6 years ago or whenever that every other video was sponsored by 😅

They also obviously control the leather industry, as leather is from slaughterhouses.

I find myself not falling into this because I think a lot before I make purchases if I really want them or not and then I wait for a deal or a coupon or the clearance section. I never pay full price for anything.
uh oh now people are going to start “food cycling” 😂
I’m pale with rosacea and hormonal acne so glass skin has always felt completely unattainable. Flushing horribly as I type this comment 😓
@ I’ve personally never found green color correctors work very well for me, but glad you found something that works!
It's insanely hard not to over consume when you work at a beauty retailer. I feel guilty about the amount of products I've accumulated

Oh 100% agree. When it’s your job it’s hard 😭
I agree. I’m in the same boat.
I haate the trend (?) of using disposable face towels, disposable face masks, disposable everything
Really makes me sad.
I think it's part of the overall "tradlife" the far right are trying to push (especially in the US, but it's making its may in Europe as well) Like : "A woman's place is at home baking everything from scratch for the kids using only "natural" ingredients and of course the skincare must follow the same rules"
Cannot think of any creator's name of the top of my head but they are plenty out there pushing this sort of narrative ; though one I do enjoy watching from time to time is @reallyverycrunchy because she makes fun of herself being that way 🤓
That's really interesting!
Mane and tail products for me ! My hair is down to my butt and the detangle spray ….. is 12/10
I love mane & tail.
I really organized my bathroom right before the holidays and was shocked at the amount of creams, masks, toothpastes, etc. that were lying around. My resolution is to clear out the expired products, then use up what I have before I buy any more.
I'm still pretty new to a regular skincare routine, but I'm starting to slow down and figure out what works for me
Ugh! I was looking at my bathroom earlier and realized I had to do the same!
@@carolinecummings313 Good luck!
the collagen gelmask they put overnight 😅 skin not breathing, sweat thats build up during night, same sleepposition the whole night? yeah, that's a no for me
I love the overnight masks. Definitely just when I have something special the next day but yeah works really well.
I flip around side to side all night. A sheet mask would never stay on.
Same. I’m a violent sleeper 😴
Thank you for both the information and helping inadvertently with my toddler! He loves your videos. 😂❤
Your toddler stopped to look because James is so cute! 😂
He also has a soothing voice.
@@magiegainey5036exactly! He’s about to turn 2 and has been going crazy except when James’s voice comes on the TV. 😂
Hubby finds it hilarious too how our toddler recognizes James voice and sometimes will come running into the living room to watch. He’ll drop/bring whatever it is he’s doing just to see the TV 😂❤.
It's a really soothing voice
@@mrs.johnwinchester420 That’s so darling!
I need to try this on my own toddler lol
My dentist recommended mouth tape to reduce gum sensitivity. My bit guard makes it hard to keep my mouth closed at night, and I was getting a lot of gum issues, but even just a strip of paper tape makes a big difference.
I absolutely love Bringgreen!!! I went this summer for the first time to ROK and got obsessed with their green sunscreen cushion compact collab with Baskin Robbins! So good for my red AF face.
I’ve always double shampooed I always got taught it too when I trained at a hairdresser
First one gets rid of dirt
Second to clean the scalp
But if you wash daily you don’t need to
I really hope people start to drop calling hair "healthy" or "unhealthy," hair is not a living thing like skin is.
🫢👀😂
So so glad I am not the only one, nor other watchers, who think that morning shed stuff is dystopian and a level of insecurity that shouldn't be normalised. Please live your life and stop wasting money on trying to look 20 forever.
I will sleep better than them bc I am not covered in stuff
I love that you let your hair grow grey you look divine! I wish mine look like that when im older😊😊😊
beef in general is sooo associated with the right, i’m glad you brought it up! i first noticed people leaning into beef as a backlash to veganism/environmentalism, which are both like left-associated topics. i didn’t know that it had made its way into skincare, but it completely makes sense combined with the clean beauty anti-science mentality like you said!
It's begging you to be more gentle with it.
all that stuff sounds like it would disrupt your sleep really badly, thus nullifying their efforts and wasting product, because sleep is what recovers you
As someone who sleep on their stomach I could never, none of that would stay on to the morning
What I hope to be my new habit for the new year is actually using cuticle oil consistently every night, I do my own nails so hopefully it will be easier this way and all the little liften things on the skin around it reduce.
What I wanna see more in 2025 is scalp care bc I really need some help with that
To people who feel the need to shampoo twice, I encourage them to section their hair. I section mine in to 4-6 parts and wash accordingly. It guarantees a thorough cleaning the first time around
Yeah I watched a video from Dr Michelle Wong who explains it’s more about technique
I've been told to double shampoo since I was a child by hairdresser. Like upwards of 20 years, works for my oily hair. Shocked people have just discovered this
I finally saw someone with glass skin the other day. I almost wanted to go up to her and congratulate her.
the double shampooing thing makes sense, I always shampoo my hair twice, with the same shampoo, to degrease my hair once is not enough.
I know this won’t be everyone, but those morning shed girlies when they hit peri/menopause- That spider farting in the bathroom has destroyed my sleep pattern AND FOR GODS SAKE GET THIS S**T OFF ME 😂
Can you recommend your fave k-beauty eye creams pls? Thanks for the great content ✨
Now I use a moisturizer that has a small amount of it and my skin is doing great
Same!! I have to check everything over before trying thanks to it being in damn near everything at the minute 😂
Oh nooooooo 😭😭😭 do you have any niacinamide free favourites?
@Betakitten87 niacinamide can also sometimes be called nicatinamide, Vitamin B3, Pyridine-3-carboxamide,
3-Pyridinecarboxamide,
Nicotinic acid amide, or
Pellagra-preventing factor.
So that is what I use, more precisely 10 hrs of sleep (next to peptides and retinal for the night at age 38 - looking like 25 according to other people, I cannot say I agree, but this is what they think) Beef talo: just use vaseline ffs.
right?? i have a very basic short routine and I'm 28, having been told I look 20 to 25!
Wait! I had no idea sleeping on your back could help with vertical go - just looked it up. I am a diehard fetal position side sleeper but I may have to try learning to sleep on my back.
@@katcalico9142 I'm also a side sleeper but if my pillow is too hard it can compress my ear canal and cause pain and vertigo!
Yesss on your back and slightly elevated apparently. I’m a side sleeper too but sometimes when my head is not supported properly I just know I’m gonna wake up dizzy
I don’t like beef tallow as a humectant but I do use Emu oil for my eczema prone skin. It’s a lifesaver during the winter months.
Drives me CRAZY in those shed videos that people are layering sheet masks over eye patches and then other sheet masks. My dudes ~~~ 🤔
The worst is when they bring their children into their dangerous thinking
My uncle would disagree with them. He's worked outside all his life and had a few cancerous chunks of skin removed. I don't think he was using sunscreen in his younger years. These days, he hides from the sun like a vampire. Even on vacation in Florida. He was under an umbrella or in the shade the whole time.
Beef tallow?! 🤢 That's what they used to make candles from in the olden times if they were poor and couldn't afford good candles. They absolutely stank, and were horrible for the health.
Well, the same people are also drinking and promoting old raw milk aka diarrhea juice, so 💀
When it comes to the topic of hair, I've been so "basic" that I think some times, "oh I should be doing more. Am I missing something?" But like... my hair is great. I don't and never have had an issue with my hair, so why am I thinking about changing it? And I think people have to approach these sorts of things. Like, your skin is perfect, then don't mess with it. Hair good, don't mess with it. Forgrt trends
i LOVE bringgreen! i've been to korea for the first time this year and got myself a lovely hyalu serum at olive young and have been loving it ever since
As a sleepwalker I could never have all this sh*t on my face. It would give me a panic attack in the middle of the night for sure.
Yea I personally have found a lot of success with the double shampoo method, in general due to my afro hair ive been taking the time to relearn what works and what doesnt, running lil experiments and what not, I find shampooing once doesnt get rid of all the product build-up but second time is the charm, especially with the moisturizing shampoo i have
Brands have jumped on the trend of double cleansing for hair so people know that’s what is correct, speaking at as Wella hairdresser x
Double shampoo is needed sometimes.Depending how many products you use ( for example dry shampoo) and how dirty your hair /scalp is when you wash it .
no one:
serial killers:
pls more morning sheds!!!! pls go to sleep incapable of screaming or seeing !! amazing!!
I mean that it’s not the necessity that a lot of brands are making it seem it is
Thank you for this. I really needed the basic explanation of a skin care routine with the cycle as I have been searching for it.
I'd love a video about the Simple skin care range, I've used this drugstore brand for years!
Xx
you ONLY NEED
cleanser
moisturiser or facial oil
serum (vit c or whatever u trying to correct)
retinol
spf
thats itttttttttt
The wash twice (shampoo) thing has been on their bottles for years. Long before social media. But people used to think, oh that's a scam. I do find washing my hair twice helpful. But I uave a lot of hair and I like to make sure my scalp is clean
I double shampoo my hair if I have left it too long between washes or if I want it to be extra clean, the second shampoo just makes sure you get rid of all the leftover oils and my hair always feels way cleaner when it's double shampooed. However, most of the time I cannot be arsed with it!
Glass skin? I have that naturally thanks to menopause 😊
@@Zuzie-s8y 😭 so true!!!
I hate this trend so much! Happy new year James
Well I don’t know what you’re referencing to about the double shampooing. But this is the first time I’ve ever disagreed with you. - Love your content btw♥😘
I’ve struggled with dandruff for a long time, and double shampooing with the right shampoos has helped me out a lot.
2:37 finally someone said it
hmmmm agree with everything but the double shampooing, you should definitely be shampooing twice if you have long hair or an oily scalp.
