- This volcano is always good for a surprise, neither the Blue Lagoon, the power plant or Grindavik are out of the woods yet. The lava is creeping up the defense walls and is not giving up.

Great update, thank you. If you have intruders please call the police, especially if legally home owners can't defend themselves in their own home. Such a crazy law! In the US, this is sometimes abused. Can you get a couple guard dogs? I hope you and your horses stay safe. Please keep us updated.

The flow to the South is much stronger than folks think. Since very early on there is a lava tube of good size exiting to the left shortly after the little crater wall in front of the big crater which then turns left to the South again.
There is also little extension of the lava pond in that direction and if you watch that area now and then you might see the gasses bubbling up or some lava flow towards the tube.
There is an empty channel coming from the left which also was feeding the tube initially. Where this channel ends to the left that's where the lava tube comes down..

when the Iceland "officials" were doing their photo op rope measurement thingy on the Blue Lagoon berm... one of them tripped over a rock, full face plant. OUCH
We are not only lucky enough to have Constitutional Carry, but also Stand Your Ground laws. And we are a 2A sanctuary state. They'd get one warning here. Hoping you find a way to keep everyone there safe.

In the 2000s in MA, USA the police just laughed at me when a guy used to sit in front of my home on a private driveway staring at our home for hours. They refused to even drive by. Found out from a direct neighbor of his that hired a private detective that he had previously done time for mob activity. The police knew him and his very unique vehicle. He had done property damage and threatened a young child of that family with his vehicle. Police did nothing so they moved.

As we all know, drunks are irrational and they could have seen a pretty blonde girl and thought that they could easily over power you and take the tractor and horses. The neighbor lied, IMHO. It was drunk teenagers. I'm so sorry. If someone was on my land and touching my horses I'd be livid. That's ashame about your law in Canada. I'm all about defending yourself and property. I'm not one that has to wear my rifles and guns in public like a badge of honor. ANYWAY, Iceland is only going to be able to make those defense walls so high and then they will have to stop. The equipment can only go so far. The maps clearly show how well Grindavik, Svartsengti and Blue Lagoon have been protected by the walls, or berms, but they need to become proactive with those heating pipes, etc.

I would definitely at least put some cameras up around your property to get evidence of the trespassers and potential thieves. I would call the police, , of course, you do what you think is best, since you know your situation better. For the record, self defense isn’t completely covered in the US. I know someone that used her martial arts skills in self defense, but was hauled to jail and convicted because there is no self defense clause (or whatever it’s called) in Nebraska. I think it should be legal to defend yourself.

Blue Lagoon made a note on their website. "The road is closed, and we are unable to open until Tuesday the 11th." ... they DO NOT say why the road is closed. Not 1 word about volcano or hot lava flow

The Blue Lagoon is not just a “money grab”. The facility provides a place of work for many Icelandic people. When the lagoon is closed, people are out of work. I’m sure this is important to them. Closure of the lagoon also threatens a host of ancillary services in a cascading effect, not to be dismissed out of hand. Everyone’s work and livelihood has equal value in a civil world.
They wont have a job if they r dead tho. But you r right. What u say makes sense.
So the people of Grindavik have had to accept, what Nature has decided to do. It's been devastating t9 them & life lost. So many people putting their lives on the line, to Rescue people, reclaim the roads, infastructure.
So? The Blue Lagoon is not a priority, the Power Station may even be lost in time, that will have more impact.
The situation has been tough for many, why is BL different?
Rekyavik may even be affected later, should the other areas awake too, there may not be much left once this becomes quiet again.
What about all the other Tourist Attractions? What about the Harbour & Fishing, that was essential, possibly lost now.
Stop being naive, selfish & imagining Nature will be selective here.
There are more involved, that have to uproot, mive, loose thsur homes, livilhoods.

so Grindavik for example had problems of frozen pipes and risk of damage in the homes when the lava cut off the hot water supply to Grindavik. They heat the homes with the hot water as well, that prevents freezing .

Silki, from what I can find out, Lagoon road is taken out again, so does that mean Goonies are trapped from both directions now? It seems lava flows cover both North and South roads. How can Gilligan's Island remain open? Helicopter 🚁? Blue Lagoon big shots will find a way.

I have read that the road that leads to Blue Lagoon is blocked by lava and that they want to open another one through Grindavik to access it (I don't know if this is true) but how crazy. Regarding your episode with the horses, tell you that here in Spain it happens the same as there, if someone comes into your house and you hurt them, it's your fault and they will report you (it's crazy). Be careful and put cameras! which now do not cost a lot of money and you can see everything through your mobile. Take care of yourself❤

The berm builders must realise that they’re close to the maximum barrier height that they could be expected to be able to put in the way of the advancing lava.
