vamps4me The GOP has devolved and degenerated into merely nothing more than a far-right, fascist, criminal syndicate intent of fleecing society for themselves and the 1% donors while oppressing minorities, sanctioning and bombing foreign countries that stand up for themselves, and silencing all that oppose them. They're nothing but an abomination, along with the brainwashed deplorables that keep putting them in office.

      How condescending!
The statement: "the first true Americans" is an inaccurate and divisive comment. Where did you get that??
Firstly, "Americans" is a title given to citizens of the United States of America. The U.S.A was established by a very diverse group of people of many skin colors and ethnicities.
Secondly, the assumption of discrimination is clearly inaccurate. Since ALL voters (native American and otherwise) are required to have this ID, it therefore is NOT discriminatory.
Basically this is a non-issue fomented by those that have nothing better to do with their lives than stir up fake outrage and encourage people to be pathetic victims all their lives.
Native Americans are just a capable as any other human beings and should have pride in the strength of their heritage.
Never allow race-baiting hucksters, like the jokers on this video, to trick you into being perpetual victims. You dont need anyone else's permission or help to be strong and successful.

Forcing the first people of this nation into boxes and conformity when they, as a nation, have had their own ways that go back before everyone else came along and took it from them. It's disgusting.

@Kay Kay Your ways and your culture are not a part of their ways and culture. This has nothing to do with feelings. You don't remember just recently when this same tribe was bulldozed over the oil pipeline, their only access to clean drinking water threatened, their land stolen, (their sacred land where their ancestors, whom they greatly revere, were buried), again, treaties broken, etc. Yet because your ways aren't theirs and you are obviously projecting yours onto theirs, they should automatically comply with your self centered way of life and thinking?

America is disgusting...period. The conservatives are now the epitome of fraud. They are THE anti-American force in control. With gerrymandering and the Congress basically performing head on Trump, they have cemented the trajectory into authoritarian rule. To coin a phrase from Lindsay Graham..." God help us if you get power.." And now we see what absolute power looks like. Just like when they saw it in the 1930s in Germany.

@Kay Kay The difference is every American is still benefiting from the land you took from us by resources, housing etc. Every time you found something, you would simply take it back and move us. So ya, you still are benefiting from those crimes.

Imagine if Mexicans Central and South Americans are recognised for our indigenous ancestry, the Native American populations would rise here in the U.S. and i don't think the white people want that so they seperate us by calling us "Hispanics" or "Latinos" its a form of divide and conquer.

@@dottiesmith2439 - I don't have a driver's license; nor do many other Americans. That is the first problem the Native Americans in North Dakota have. Since their families are also on the reservation, with no street address, they have no family address to use.
Furthermore, in the rural area where I grew up, only the people who lived in the village had a street address. Most of the people in the township had rural delivery addresses or rented a PO Box, if they could afford it.
North Dakota's law is disenfranchising them because they have no street address and the state will no longer accept a P.O. Box, which is what appears on their tribal IDs.
I happen to agree with the tribal member who said he could use his tribal ID to clear TSA or go to Canada, but could not get into his own voting booth. That may not strike you as wrong, but it does me.

You were required to put your physical address when you filled out your voter registration card. Your physical residence address determines your district. Having your physical address on your Indian voter ID card makes perfect sense so that they can check to make sure your address is the same. It has absolutely nothing to do with voter suppression.

North Dakota doesn't require voter registration.

@@WestCoast824 Do they have drivers licenses in ND? If so, you can't put a PO box on that either. Indians need to get it together. No excuses.

DL isn't a requirement to have either. Tribal government issued ID cards is a acceptable form of ID when voting.
Also, they are "getting it together". Didn't you watch the video.

Mac Tek The problem is it was done three weeks prior to midterms.

@@mactek6033 - You are ill-informed. Many Native Americans don't have driver's licenses, particularly the older ones, who never had a chance to learn to drive.
Another factor is that this change was finalized only three weeks before the election (per this video.) Learning to drive, getting appointments for driving tests for approximately 700,000 people (or less since a separate report said some of the younger people do have licenses) seems a stretch.
This is a clear case of voter suppression by the Republican state government. Time & again I've seem Republican elected officials & commentators accuse Democrats of identity politics but the Republicans are playing the same game. The only difference is the Democrats are willing to represent more groups. The Republican message is if you're not of White European ancestry, we don't care.
