This is despicable.
Whoever left it could've just given it away if it didn't want to raise it for whatever reason I didn't think of.
Just imagine if no one would have found it, it wouldn't be alive right now.
It was found in an industrial area by a person that knows me, when I got there I've noticed a very bad chemical smell and lots of cats walking around it...It was only a matter of hours from being dead by a cat or by starving.
As much as I would like to stay positive, these things happen too often and it's so sad to think that some pets don't make it.

People get hand-raised birds because they're often friendly, but they don't realize that they also might be also super clingy, which can be annoying.

We have to give a teeny weeny bit of credit though, cause they could have covered him up so no one would have ever seen/found him. At least they kept him out in the open, still I'm VERY angry as well but it still could have been worse..

It seems to trust humans too. Maybe it's owner dies and the heir just threw him away instead of looking for an owner? Just wondering because it seemed to like human touch
It's not well trained, it's just a really young ringneck. They're still very trusting at this age, and if it gets proper care from now on, it should turn out just fine!

There are many more animal abusers than those who save animals, sadly! Just read about how many parrots die due to poaching and in which conditions they are transported. If you don't become a misanthrope after that, you are truly special

Unfortunately many people buy or gift birds or other pets without understanding the long term commitment, care, and love they need.
This is terriable that the poor bird was left with what seemed like nothing to do and should just end it.
But thanks to people like you these animals are saved and given great homes and loving famlies

How could someone ever do this to a poor bird :( it’s a beautiful bird and I’m glad that someone found it. If that bird was in there for a longer time I probably wouldn’t have been able to survive or it would be in a horrible condition . I’m so happy u took this bird home and gave it the are it needed and u gave it some treatment :)

It's like abandoning a dog: they don't know why or how they were abandoned and can die because of their domestication. For dogs, they could feel guilt or become aggressive and sick. I think it could apply to birds too.

I’m personally not a bird person but never in my life would I buy a bird and ditch it, that’s so cruel.
Alot of people don't realize how emotionally and sociallyintelligent birds are. I taught my quaker how to laugh, and he has learned to directly correlation laughing with having fun, so when I play with him he laughs when ever he gets one up on me! He feels more human than any dog or cat. They're like tiny forever toddlers

I dont think I would ever own another bird, we had senegals and they were a pain but we did everything in our power to keep them happy and healthy they had in-door and out door cages, had free roaming of the house while we were awake thw whole 9 yards, we even had the first one autopsied when it died to try to save the 2nd (incase you didn't know bird autopsies are fucking expensive)

I found your videos shortly after rescuing my own budgie, she was left out in the cold and we tried finding an owner but no one claimed her. The veterinarian we saw suspects her to have been in a tiny cage due to her feathers being damaged, possibly planned to be used for breeding due to her having a lot of different color variations. I'm so glad I have her now, I know this parakeet you found will find a home just like mine has.

Absolutely! I have had a parrot for my whole life as well. My parent's got a juvenile orange-winged Amazon a couple of years before I was born, and I'm 23 now. He's lived half of his life with us, and I couldn't imagine the house without him in it. It's sickening to see situations like this in general, but it really hits close to home when you have personal experience with the same sort of animal. Just the sheer lack of compassion of not even leaving food and water for ir makes my blood boil.
I have two cockatoos. Have them 30 years. They are my babies. I love all animals. God Bless the people that rescue them 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

@@betazggames1418 Im not sure but i dont think budgies and birds with bigger beaks go well together since the budgies can get injured. Not 100% sure tho, i just know it because i wanted black faced birds with my budgies and found out after getting my budgies that it wouldnt be a good idea^^

@@esterbun9356 Yes, no worries about my budgies! I just commented to let the other person know, i have no plans to get any bird other than budgies with budgies. Maybe if they die one day ill get the black-faced birds i originally wanted (without any budgies) since i did buy a giant cage on wheels lol. But please do not worry, i would never even take that risk.
And yes, google did say they could snap a budgies leg without an issue so i would think they could probably also injure them in other ways.
I do think its really sad how uninformed petstore employees are though, since theyve told me it would be fine to have black-faced bird or cockatiels etc. with budgies. But thats another topic haha

It's a parrot, my friend has one who is 30 years old, she's had him that long anyway, not sure how old he was when she rescued him

I remember when there was a parakeet along with other animals in my school for a visit to my yeargroup. I was fortunate enough to be chosen to let it perch on my shoulder and it made me feel that this animal is to be respected above many others.

I can't believe someone would abandon it like this, they could have given it away or surrender it to a sanctuary. And it makes it harder for me to believe it when the bird seems to be calm and sweet.

The person that threw them into the cage probably thought that their feelings and consciousness isn't as strong as ours, to the point where they believe it's okay for it to be thrown away. What a shame. I'm not saying I want humanity gone, but I believe Earth would be much nicer for the rest of living beings if humans either never existed or weren't so intelligent.

What a sweet video, I’d have done the same, it probably would keep it. I’m retired and spend all day with my birds. I rarely leave home, just for food, essentials and Dr. It’s an adorable bird and so calm. ❤️
I’ve had a similar experience. Once when I was going to swimming lessons when I was little we saw this macaw in a cage with a cloth over it. We were the only ones at the swimming lessons so we thought maybe it’s the swimming teachers? But it wasn’t so we took the macaw to the vets and they helped her. I’m pretty sure she or he has a home now. I’m glad you found that birdie 🙃

As a bird owner myself, there is absolutely no excuse for doing this to this bird...glad it was saved. If you can't care for it don't get one, or take it to an animal shelter at least. I would hate to see how they took care of a kid if they can't handle a bird.

This reminds me of the cocktiel i found in a random street i thought it was a napkin and i walked up to it and he let me pick him right up, took him home and after a while he was free roaming in the house singing playing living his happiest life following and bugging my mom everywhere. Rip ♥️
I have a cockatiel I’ve had her for 2 years and her story is sad some 17 year old boy bought her to impress his girlfriend when his girlfriend broke up with him and he neglected the bird never feeding her trying to sell her eventually he decided to just if he could t sell it he would release her in a forest which is certain death for a young cockatiel when my mom was notified of this she offered to take her in and now me and the little cockatiel are best friends
My wife and I have a variety of birds, ourselves,. We'd love to have this little guy around, if you're serious about finding him another home and aren't too awful far from us. I...just can't describe how angry I felt when I saw the condition that he(she?) was in. I don't understand people that do this let a lone even Pet Stores...normally I always check the back of Pet Stores building just incase I find a bird like a Budgie.

@@sophielovesyouu Yea, some of them throw birds in their trash which is normally located either at the back of the store or to the side of the store. Sad truth, but it's been happening. I don't understand why they'd throw them out.

Too loud, too destructive, too demanding. People see these beautiful and intelligent animals as objects and when people buy them to just to find out that OH they take work?? They just throw them out like theyre trash. It enrages me. I don't know whether to punch something or cry when I see this kind of thing but I do know if I EVER see someone do this or anything similar to a bird in person I'm likely committing a murder

@@s4di.3 Education about birds is sorely lacking in many places. People have no problem understanding that dogs need to go for walks and cats need clean litterboxes, but the social needs of birds aren't discussed as much as they should be. While I understand the anger, a better way to deal with the problem is to educate. Maybe you could reach out to some local schools and put on a presentation about birds?
Why could anyone put away fluffers like this?! Even if they can't handle him, just take him to a rescue, it's not a toy to throw it in the trash! Thank you for you kindness sir, you are true birdperson by heart.
As an owner of two rescue parrots this warms my heart. A similar thing happened to my conure mango before she came to the rescue and then got adopted by me

Just the other day, my brother was sitting in the park and out of the grass was a Sun Conure parrot walking up to him. The poor thing was very weak and tired bc for the past couple of days it was very cold, rainy and windy. It's fully recovered and well now.
