- Hidden Abandoned 16 Million Dollar 1960's Mansion. Canada - Explore #75
This stunning mansion sits very well hidden and has been abandoned since 2018. Its on a massive property in a very nice area with luxury homes. A family lived in this house until 2016 when a developer bought the land for over 16 million dollars. The developer plans on demolishing this house to make way for hundreds of luxury homes starting at approx. 2 million dollars. But in 2016 the developer decided to donate the mansion to a Syrian refugee family to use until they demolished the house for approx. 2 years. The local residents came together and brought the family here to Canada. Once here they helped the family with their monthly bills.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

Absolutely tragic that this home is to be demolished. I LOVE this house! Breaking my heart.
Hard to believe that it's going to be a demolition job. This house has lots of class and in really good condition.
The land is probably worth more than the house.
I agree!
They really should NOT tear it down. A lot of these land developers care less @ history which really VEXES me greatly because it leaves
millennials out in the FRIGID
C🥶LD. They don't take the younger generation into consideration, and this is just societal abortion of these beautiful historical structures that deserve a 2ND or even a 3RD chance for that matter! 😠😭
@@staceyking1293 As a Millennial I think they should absolutely tear it down.
NOBODY needs that much space to live. Completely impractical and a colossal waste of materials from the start.
Several years ago I was installing ductwork in these McMansion's and just smh.
Thank God that our generation is minimizing and downsizing.
Exactly and then replace the houses with ugly houses that all look the same with no alleys and boring parks. The future of canada looks grim
Oh How my Heart hurts for this Gorgeous piece of history! Look at the Woodwork! My heart hurts!
That is actually really sad about this place just sitting empty...it's so beautiful! I love the custom paint on the walls, especially the horses! What a shame....there are endless possibilities for that place...so sad when developers come along and destroy beautiful places such as this. Thanks for the upload.
Why? Why is it sad? Why is it a shame? That was a house for a family with God awful paint jobs. So what. That's progress, and now once developed there will be many homes for many families that need that opportunity. Maybe share joy for those opportunities and don't be bitter that no one handed you that house on a silver platter
@@jamiewhalen7804 wow....I was not being bitter at all...that's a bit of a rude comment...all I meant it's too bad that it's being inhabited when it's fine the way it is and yes I like the paint job, I live in Canada where I am free to voice my opinion...if someone comes along and paints over it oh well...it's just a general statement of my opinion along with every one else who comments...no need to be rude about it though. Have yourself a nice day
@@AILDgURL that’s incredible. I live in Canada as well so I’m simply following suit to voice my opinion as well
@@jamiewhalen7804 there talking about building large million dollar homes - it’s not like they are building homes for lower middle class - just because you don’t like the murals - I’m sure there are many people would like them
@@melodykennedy6592 are you the developer?
"They dont build them like they use to"
Hate it when people destroy historic houses, in order to build some "Modern" cramp subdivision where you can see your neighbors kitchen where you sleep.
But in this case more million dollar houses...
such a shame..too bad they didn't restore and keep it with the new homes..just to salvage it..craziness 😒🙄
Historic? It was built in the 60's, it's not old it's just big
@@mrzee4862 im talking general all over the place, if you read the entire point. plus if you think about it the 60s were 60+ years ago. in 40 years itll be 100 years old.
Time ticks by quicker then you think .
@Mel Francis Yup. They look like prisons.
Hard to believe anyone could find it in themselves to destroy that beautiful home.thanks for the great tour.
Not hard when you'll build many more nicer newer homes and then make money from it
all for the love of money. And they could of got way more for that home. Such a big waste.....
It defies common sense to destroy a home that provides solitude from a world going mad and trade it for fifty plus neighbors driving up and down streets at all hours which will fuel police patrols and possibly gunfire in neighborhood altercations. What a wonderful trade off!😖😣👎
@@nikkidemuth2636 Greed is a very powerful motivator. It's all about me, me, me! It's a shame it will be demolished.
Breaks my heart to think of someone demolishing such a beautiful home. 😩
I'm surprised they left so many things especially the baby crib. Beautiful home ,such a waste to be torn down.👍😒❤️🇺🇸
Can’t believe they will destroy this home. Man it’s gorgeous
The house is beautiful and perfect another wasted home
This old home is in better shape than the newer mansions I’ve seen on these shows
I can't believe that those developers are going to tear that place down. Why don't they just clean it up and leave it for one of the homes for their development and build the other ones on the rest of the acres. That house is too beautiful inside and out to demolish it. They are crazy.
I think it called GREED hope they lose their ass
Developers do not care about craftsmanship anymore. It’s easier to tear this beautiful home down and build a cheaper uglier one.
@@pennychurch7917 I agree with you Penny.
@@kris6051 That is for sure but I guess Canada is bi enough to have some of the largest landfills in the area. I guess that is where that beautiful house is going to end up.
You got that right Kristy.
I would move into that house in a heartbeat. Not much to do really other than fixing up the basement and moving my stuff in...lol. Great tour!
@Jay, I had an ice-c🥶ld, no-class millennial with a bad attitude make a SNOOTY remark on my reply @ historic preservation!
BTW, Jay make that move when the opportunity for you rolls @!🙏 G😇😇D BLESS!
I suspect 🧐 this young person has/ is being taught
COMMON CORE!
beautiful home! dont understand why it has to be torn down, it's still a really great condition.
I like your videos
Would you please consider reducing the opening intro / music to 15 or 20 seconds max
This video is 38 seconds and is unnecessarily long IMO
Just skip it 👍🏻 95% love it
Hopefully a salvage company comes through and take everything valuable, since everything is still good up to this point.
Really there’s no need for this place to come down it could be made part of the New Development.
Nice thing is since it was built in the 60s it’s not dated at all it’s very modern.
It’s only four bedrooms which is strange for the size of house.
Huge, beautiful home. If only I had 16 million bucks!
If I had even a portion of the 16 million. Could have shared the cost for the purchase of the property with someone else and then renovated if needed and then move in.
Wow! what a beautiful house, nice and bright with all those windows. It's a shame they have to tear it down.
Omg what a beautiful house....the woodwork, fireplaces, the entryway, the murals....sooooo big 💗. Can't believe the developers wouldn't just build around this place......the built-in bookcases 😳
The French doors!
Oh my!
I'm in love!
Hopefully they'll salvage some of the things left behind in that house. Cool place. You can use a safety pin to thread your string back threw your hood.
Hairpin works too.
I’m always excited when you post a new video! This house was huge and very nice. So sad to hear it’s getting demolished
This is one beautiful home. I love that family room and the master bedroom. I love the space.
Right?! The master closet! Yaaas please! lol
I absolutely love the huge spacious kitchen. The heart of any home. Lobe all the fireplaces too. Love the whole home.😃💖
There is/w😭s a lot of space in that drop-dead georgeous home out of the 1960s
@@heidimisfeldt5685 A housekeeper who's also a serious cook would have really appreciated that kitchen
Actually the outlet over the mantle was to hang a light over an oil painting
Love your videos. I can’t help but wonder who owned the different properties and why they abandoned them, often in obvious haste. Such incredible waste in a time of a Canadian housing crisis for the less fortunate. “One man’s junk, another man’s treasure” really. Keep up the good work man! Cheers!!!
Brent, This House is Absolutely Beautiful Great Find . Keep Them Coming Glad Your Back ‼‼👍👏😊
Thanks you!
I'm not much for mansions, but this house wasn't as big of a mansion, as I've seen before. This house is huge, but, really beautiful. That's unbelievable that it's going to be torn down for other development. It was so sad to see the crib!😔 Thanks Brent for showing this, even though it's not going to ever be lived in again 😔
I can’t believe they want to demolish that house! It’s beautiful.
Guess the $/profit is more 'attractive' to these people after development. So sad the mighty dollar.🍁
I’m surprised squatters and homeless people haven’t discovered this beauty! Good to see no vandalism, also. What a shame to tear it down, so much potential! 😒
Hi Brent. Sewing Machine lady here. To get the string back through the casing on your hood is super easy. Attach a safety pin to one end of the string and stick it into the casing. Just feed it through by pushing the pin along from the outside and pulling the gathers out with your other hand. Just don't let go of the pin from the outside. You can do it in about 5 minutes or less. Or just send it to me and I'll do it for you!
I really love this house, but not enough bedrooms. It's way too big for just 2 people. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you so much your a genius 😁
Its lovely to see the old art of putting a cord onto a safety pin, to get it back thru that narrow passageway, is still alive! It came from the 'make do and mend culture!' Love it!
I can't imagine living in such a gorgeous home. If it was mine, I would have never left.
I love the layout of this place! So many rooms, doors, sections and everything! I wonder if they had a big family. That’s the kind of house my family needs! Such a beautiful place!!
great Explore Brent, what a beautiful place, it's a shame that they can't keep this house and just fix it up a little and build the other houses around it,,, beautiful place, its sad to see it Demolished
Nice house but to big for me. I did like the green room for the plants. You are the first person I have seen that is concerned about not having a mask. Just in case there was black mold. That is very smart of you, to keep in mind.
That bathroom is bigger than my living room 🤪
Great house for big and wealthy family. I can not imagine the cost of heating for such large house
You have a living room? Lucky you! I have a porch.
Lol but is it a nice porch?
Yes. It’s a nice porch.
That may be part of why the family moved out. Then there's taxes, and maintenance, among other things as well. Pretty only goes so far.
You hit the jackpot with this one.
What a beautiful yet creepy house.
So many rooms and cupboards.
It looks newer than the 60s unless it was all redone
It’s not vandalized and it has power...strange
It’s too nice to demolish
Until the next house..take care ❤️ 🇨🇦
Couldn't believe how big this house was although I thought the layout was a bit funky. BUT I absolutely LOVED the mural work in the front entrance hall. WOW! Thanks and stay warm and healthy.
Oh Brent ! so nice to find a new video on a weekday 👍
I would get lost easily with so many hallways and closets and doors. The big room with huge windows and wood celing was awesome. Beautiful home but I can not imagine how much work and money must be to maintain it and don't want to think about house cleaning 😁😁
Thanks for another great explore !!
It’s beautiful! Can’t believe they are tearing this up. Love this! 😍
Beautiful doesn't even begin to touch it! Thanks for sharing, wow...my dream home. Love, hugs & God Bless you 💕💕
Man another amazing video. Keep um rolling bro .
Thanks Gary!
It is so sad to see a house that is practically in pristine condition and with some updating could be fabulous, looking forward to demolition. Makes me feel sick.
I agree. Makes me sick
That home is so beautiful. So sad to hear that it's going to be demolished. It is in such great condition still.
Lovely, well planned/thought out family home. Tons of storage, and plenty of space for family times and making memories. Lovely retreat like setting. Your skillful explore of of this 60's treasure brought me much joy. Hoping someone sees this home and rescues it. Thank you Brent. Such a fine job!
Thanks Linda!
Place a safety pin on one end of the string and pull the cording by the safety pin, feeding it through the opening on the hood to the other end where the other opening is.
Your a genius! Thank you😁
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada it works great!
@@AbandonedUrbexCanada HAHA nah, just someone who sews. LOL Glad I could help.
Haha... I was about to write that!
THANK YOU 👍
Such a beautiful home. What a waste to tear it down. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
This has to be by far my most favorite house out of all the videos I’ve watched.
Thanks for a great tour, I hope the developers have the foresight to restore this home and have it as a centrepiece to their development rather than smashing it to bits.
I really hope that if they intend to tear this beauty down, someone comes in and salvages the flooring, inside doors and anything that can be repurposed.
Beautiful home. Love the built-ins, the murals and all about. The bathtub surrounded by windows. Can't imagine living in a place with do much land you could take a bath surrounded with bare windows all around you with a full view to the out of doors!
That kitchen and eating area is to DIE FOR!
As beautiful as the house is, the taxes and utilities must have been a lot. I really liked the greenhouse. I'm currently (2021 March) have seedlings getting started in my small place. Boy, I could sure make use of that greenhouse.
I agree. I could too for the same reason.
It breaks my heart to think this will get torn down. I feel like every day history is getting erased...
It's a shame that people today are living in "fantasy" make-believe land, rather than HONEST REALITY.
VERY special thanks to FAKE NEWS and tearing down statues of historic figures, and trying to erase history, for example, in this mansion's case, denying the fact the 1960s happened
@@staceyking1293 absolutely agree
What a shame... beautiful home!! Thank you for all that you do!!
I would so totally live here! What a beautiful house. That was a great find Brent.
What a Big Beautiful home, looks like it must have been built as a custom 'Dream' home. I can't image having to leave it when it seems like it was in such great condition. Hardwood floors and tons of natural light thru out with an awesome outside setting and a greenhouse as well OMG! You really did an excellent job filming and capturing the scale of the rooms and the home. Glad you didn't encounter any of the spiders that made all those webs Yikes! 🔥🔥🔥 Liked the switchup in the intro too 😍
Thanks so much bsage 😁

Fantastic find. It is nice to know the history of the house also. Really nice place. You did a nice video. Thank you.
Awesome job on this exploration Brent! I enjoyed this.
Man that house is beautiful wish they wouldn't tear it down
That place is huge! Love the room with the timber’s on the ceiling, I said on another explorer video that would have been fantastic for Christmas!
I wonder what Christmases were like in that home?🤔🎄🎁🛍️🕯️🎅🤶☃️❄️🦌

Another great explore. Beautiful house and seems so cozy 😊
Love the murals!
Hi Brent. Sweet house eh? Such a shame it's being torn down. I love everything about this house. Curse those stinking developers. Always a pleasure to explore with you. Brent. What a waste. Thanks for sharing and stay safe.
You're RIGHT hose developers r greedy, unscrupulous and NOT-$O-THRIFTY!!
Unless 🙏 they are one uv quite a few developers who are truly devout, STRONG
born-again believers in Jesus Christ😇♥️ and in this case, hopefully an especially giving developer
like that
@@staceyking1293 You said it.

@@AbandonedUrbexCanada your being thankful. More people need to be this way. So thank you to you as well 😀
Great video again, love all the spaces out there in Canada :-)
Beautiful home! Thank you for the adventure😊
What an awesome place! It did give me the creeps a little. So many doors and places to hide. I wouldn't want to be a babysitter there.
😂
If I were to be a babysitter there, I would take along some pepper spray and keep it on my person @ ALL
TIMES, from the time the parents walk out the door to
the minute I see them pull into the long driveway
This is a sickening thought to me. It's hard to believe that this beautiful home is going to be demolished. The home that I own and live in is a total dump compared to that place. I can't afford to remodel my home and I see what they're going to destroy and throw in a landfill. 😭 unbelievable
Yes it's terrible. If I was the developer I'd at least tell people, anyone really, to salvage what you can while it's still standing. Such a waste!
Thank you for sharing this. I would love to live in that beautiful home.
Wow that's one of the top 5 for sure! Like the new intro! Right on Brent that place was massive 👌
Hey thanks so much Wayne!
That whole hallway full of closets is strange to me. All the custom painting is beautiful. That entire house is gorgeous!! I would love to look at the blue prints.
To fix your strings, put a safety pin on one end and use that to guide the string back through the hood.
Thanks you!
Same here, I am fascinated by blueprints!
I love your intro music! I also like the slight change in the intro pictures. Love your channel! ❤️
Thank you!
Such a beautiful 🏡! Awesome newer intro Brent!
It's the same one with the first part missing if you don't believe me go look it up
Beautiful !!!!❤
It would be interesting to know who had it built in the first place.

Yes popular Urbex spot 😁👍
With the drone we can see the house is really huge !!! Belle balade ! Merci de nous avoir promener ici... Et le paysage autour est splendide ! MERCI !!! 👍💖
It is a beautiful home thank you for sharing
Awesome house! Would have been an incredible place to live back in the day. Incredible to see all the stuff left behind. Seems wrong somehow with all the people that can’t afford much. Kids toys, cribs, furniture ect. Hope some goes to the re-store or Salvation Army or something
Wow, what a beautiful home. How the other half lives. It's a shame that it's going to be torn down for one more drab, boring subdivision full of featureless homes.
Wow such a beauty .to bad its going down lots of room to grow a family in n the guest you wanna have. That loft up stairs is my favorite place to be in.Thanks Brent you did a wonderful job story telling this place. Peace my friend Barbara from FL.USA
Absolutely beautiful house thanks for sharing ✌️
My wife says use a safety pin to draw the string through your hoodie.
Thank you! 😎👍
When you have money or are losing everything then get offered 16mil. it's easy to walk away. For your hoodie find a safety pin that will go through the hole and big enough to grasp. Pin one end to your string and put pin in hole and scoot it on through.
Thanks Debra!
When you first entered into the home, I honestly thought it was a new home. It looked clean & straight. The painted murals in the foyer & bedrooms were definitely a 60s touch. Loved it 👍🏼

I have such mixed emotions about this one. There seems to be an element of sadness. Or it could just be me🤔
What a shame that beautiful landscape is going to be mowed down for a bunch of cookie cutter houses cramped together like sardines.
@L. Brown Then they get upset because coyotes and raccoons won't stay out of "their" neighborhood.
What a great explore, situated beautifully on the property. Such a shame to see these places torn down.

@@staceyking1293 Apparently, my grandfather was an insurance salesman of some kind. Upper middle class, I guess? I’ve only ever seen one crappy early colour photo, of the years at that house.
My Dad’s younger brother, about 20 years of age, with their 2 year old niece, on his shoulders, at the front door. 18 years and no one had photographs of it? Sheesh! Lol
@@staceyking1293 My Dad’s cat, would sit on the ledge in the back yard, to the left of the turret, (I always had it in my mind, no higher than a knee wall)
My Dad (about 17 at the time) heard a horrific yowl at the back door, he looked out and saw a very healthy three times the size of his cat, raccoon, trying to hurt her.
He ran out with a bat, and just whacked it on it’s head a few times. Gave his cat enough time to retreat inside, and the raccoon snarled at my Dad and wondered off. My Dad’s bat was broken.
