  • Beautiful Abandoned Heritage Stone Mansion originally built 167 years ago. Explore #38
    Canada
The stone mansion looks a little strange with new houses all around it as this house was originally built in 1852. In the 1960's they added a very large addition. The previous owner was a very successful mining entrepreneur in the 1950's. He found the largest Uranium deposit to date in the world. He passed away in 1994 at the age of 80 years old. His family lived at the home until approx. 2012. This beautiful heritage stone mansion sits in a new subdivision and the future for this house is unknown at this time. I heard the original house will be saved but the newer part added and built in the 1960's may be removed. I also heard the original house will be raised and moved to a new location.

    About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

I just found your video and i have to say you did a great job showing things even backing up to get that full shot. I am impressed, most of these channels fly by and never showcase the the workmanship or furniture that we rarely see anymore. Seems like they stop and focus on dirty toilets and what a great job they did finding these places(not). So thank you for a wonderful tour.

The chair part is broken and tilted forward. Under that upholstered seat is a compartmentalized section where a man can put his wallet and other pocket contents. I have the one my dad had by his bed which is exactly like the one in the video. I can tell you exactly why it is broken too. It is a flimsy little thing meant to hang clothes, not to sit on! I don't think they're antiques but some would considereal it old. I'd say Ardan's-type item, circa 1970-80's.

I think I held my breath throughout the whole video ! Oh my gosh, such grandeur and so much class. Definitely owned by wealthy people, most probably European judging by the bathroom fixtures. My thoughts are that more than one family lived here. Likely built so that their children could all live on the homestead and still have total privacy. This was common amongst Europeans who like to keep their families close. Once again a gold star video. Keep up the great work !

OMG This is such a beautiful house - I love the woodwork and all the built ins - I love so many fireplaces - it definitely looks like an in-law setup was put in - the bathroom sinks are hand painted - I went to the kohler factory in WS and they had a separate area where they hand painted the fixtures so no two are exactly alike - wallpaper was big in the 1850’s to 1900’s - I don’t know when papering the ceilings became popular but I just think it is too much - does anyone know when that started? I pray they don’t destroy that gorgeous home - if I had the money I would buy it I can’t believe there is not someone affluent enough that would love to have it

Wonderful explore of a Great house! Glad to hear at least some it may be saved. The drone overview sets the stage. The staircase at 6:58 with that curve is outstanding. The Empire style magohagany furniture at 5:58 is superb and worth quite a bit, surprised no one in the family has shifted that out yet, especially that writing desk. Most of the chandeliers are already gone except a couple of Williamsburg types and the light downstairs at 14:41 looks like a Tiffany style, if not actually Tiffany. The sunburst window at 9:44 is a nice feature. The wallpaper on the ceilings in a couple rooms never appealed to me, makes the room seem closed in and box like. The sinks with the Delft effect are so cool, never seen those before on sinks, only on large bowls, really nice. In the basement the old hatbox at 15:57 made a trip thro Toronto at some point. The house is in pretty good nick for a place empty since 2012 and can never understand why the precious family photos on the fire place mantel and babybooks get left behind. What's behind the sealed door? Inquiring minds want to know, it may be a case for Hercule Poirot... Thank you Brent for another great one!

Yes I noticed the language tag on the hat box from Toronto Pearson. The sealed door Maybe it went to an old balcony. There was a sealed up window in the bathroom as well. I’m thinking the sealed door in the basement went to some stairs outside

I thought this home was in great shape for an abandoned home of its age, I especially liked the older part, the wood work was very nice, 'I would live there'. I really like your work, the pace of your pans, and framing... you 'let the video do the talking' and add meaningful commentary. You have a nice balance of the 'things left behind', with the focus on the structure... Thank you for taking the time to archive this old soul and sharing with us... much appreciated! I like your shooting choice with a flat field wide angle lens (appropriate to architecture) and not a fish eye... I am also really glad that you do 'use protection' ~ good on you ~ not putting yourself at risk for our benefit.

Beautiful home, so glad it is still intact and not vandalized. The fireplace with the fan carvings and the beaver in the middle so pretty, and the staircase just wow! I loved the large rooms and all the fireplaces. You did a good job of giving us time to look at the rooms, women notice little things, so showing the "details" really peak our interest. Thank you for being so respectful of the home.

Beautiful home. Love quirky spaces with bits of mystery. Where did the sealed door go to? Hard to tell. I love to see the wallpapering in these homes but I also know how hard it is to remove. There was a lot of love put into that home over many years. The old hats and photos were kind of sad. Also sad to see someone’s dream become a dusty burden to a neighborhood that doesn’t appreciate its charm. Thanks so much for sharing. ❤️

When we moving from a house we should take all items and furniture fully removed from attachment and cover from dust keep in one room ,and remove curtains from window this what we do so natural light ray fall all the room it's good for positive energy this what they did I think so .I saw so many people leave everything without response.

The chair is called a Butler, with a Shoe Shine Stool. When a guy wants a shine, he pulls off his Suit Jacket and put it on the back of the chair and get his shine on. The back legs was missing on the Foot Stool. This house is beautiful, a lot if the fixtures in the house is custom. Looks like Varnished Red Wood in the living room. If so it is very expensive. What a treasure it must have been to the owners. Thank u Brent for sharing.
