*Overall **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I feel the Shadowfire 360 offers excellent value for those who are new to tenkara and don't want to break the bank on their first rod purchase.*
Looking good Mr.Steve hooking up to some nice size blues. I need to utilize that technique here in Milford Lake Kansas. Anyways stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
They’re a lot of people that try to be catfishermen on RUclips but there’s not many like you, Steve. I have catfished my whole life and I have a ton of respect for u. Absolutely love ur videos and have learned a lot watching u. Kills me to see a grown man scared to grab a fish. Lol. I know that some people are learning but don’t understand why other guys try to make videos and too scared to grab a fish. Leave it to the men, boys! Keep a tight line, pal! Watching you fish helps me through the winter.
Really love your videos Steve . Just started watching you about a month and a half ago , and I have to say . I have learned a lot from watching you . Keep up the great work ! Very informative ! Love it !
@@tommyflynn6682 I live in Easton PA , about 30 miles south of the Poconos . My son's and I usually fish in the Delaware river for Channel Catfish and Flatheads .
BaD Intentions when you catch as many as him, it's nothing. I, on the other hand, would literally shit my pants if I caught one of what he does regularly lol.
alot better on the use. i asked about some things and got a answer but had to test myself. alot of the weight depends on the size of the board as i found out. i tested 2 6" boards and 2 9" boards. those 6" boards will not take over 2 oz of weight but like you said and use, the bigger boards will take more before they start to titanic. another great video.
I love fishing with planner boards from the river bank. It helps keep the bait in the strike zone when the current is strong. You may want to keep the planer board farther up the line. It will keep the fish from using the board for leverage and pull the hook. A bobber stop and bead will let you space the board farther up the line when pulling in the fish.
I've been messin' with the boards on the James river...Haven't had much luck with them yet but I'm going to keep at it...By the way Zakk Royce is in North Carolina and guides on lake Gaston with his partner Zac Zajac...Blues Brothers guide service...Very nice fellas..I have fished with them a couple of times...I'm really diggin' your videos..34 min ain't too long for me....
I watch all your videos and you have helped me out a lot. How late in the year do you drift before the water temp gets too cold for it to be a viable tactic. I've been struggling to put fish in the boat here lately. And where in the world do you find all them skipjack this time of the year.
Might be answered in other questions, but I don't know anything about the planner boards. When u drop your line to the bottom and then reel up a little is the planner board set at that depth? Like does it lock in place there or just freely go up and down the line? What keeps it from just sinking to the bottom and the board just floating? If that makes sense lol
If I only have 2 rods and want to run one bottom rig and one suspended, can i use a float instead of the planer boards? We are fishing off of a pontoon also if you have any advice for cathfishing on a pontoon and trolling. It has two built in rod mounts back by the motor. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
Looks like you are having to much fun you need a good fishing pardner so just say the word I will be there before you can say mash the cat lmbo, Good video's man keep them coming .
Ever consider a chum grinder ? Instead of throwing used bait in , or trashing it, I have a manual food grinder customized to fit in a rod holders base. Grind up fresh chum.
Just the way the bank looked. I fished for bass in Nolin back in the 80's. Was a slow day but enjoyed the area. Cool temps and lots of shade around the points and sloughs. Walter F George has lots of clay and sandy shores. Nolin was a nice change.
Can you do a video on catching eating size catfish in a river? I can go to reservoir down the road and catch about 20 in a hour by just throwing out stink bait at the dam, but I would like to be able to target them in rivers as well. Do I just do the same thing with smaller cut bait?
Wish I could have been there before that cold front came through - 80 the day before we got there, low was 24 the day we started fishing... Looks like you had a heck of a trip! Thanks for the video and the tips.
Steve I noticed that your i-pilot trolling motor is not centered on the bow of your boat. it is more off to the port side. is this because the i-pilot sticks over 10 to 12 inches. also does this make you correct your course more often with it off the the side? I ask because I am thinking of moving my i-pilot as it gets in the way of my easystepsystem on my trailer.
When you go to a lake for the first time what is it you look for on finding the best place to start fishing? Do you ride around and look for something specific on your fish finder or do you do some research before you ever go?
Both, I use navionics at home to scout out places that interest me and when i get there I pretty much know what to expect. if I am just going in blind i search for edges and channels in the structure
Steve, I live in central Kentucky and would like to purchase some monster rod holders. Do you have a store front at your shop or would I still have to order online? I only live around an hour or so away.

Do you still fish the Ohio much, I know that you love fishing other river systems? I have talked about going to James River for 20 years but haven't.

Awesome video Steve just listening to your tips have helped me put more trophy fish in the boat
some of the fish you catch, I would say are massive, but your just so mellow about it.
BaD Intentions when you catch as many as him, it's nothing. I, on the other hand, would literally shit my pants if I caught one of what he does regularly lol.

Never mess with broads on the james River.
I got 2 from Zakk...It's an experiment for now..The jury is still out..
Another great video Steve appreciate the new technique tips.
I'd like to try this. but how do u keep your bait from getting hung up on debris on the bottom?
Sets his bait 4-5ft up from the bottom.
would u show us the double hook rig or give us a link? I think i only saw u use it in one vid. Thanks Steve!
good informative video-like you said big bait big fish-best of luck in the future

Zakk Royce is out of North Carolina. He is part of the Blues Brothers Catfish Guide service LLC. down there.
Steve, Ever had a catfish straighten out your hooks? Love your videos!
I’ve had a #8/0 snapped in half off a jug line 😳
What kind of sinker set up are you running behind the boat. Looks different than your regular 8 ounce set up??
I watch all your videos and you have helped me out a lot. How late in the year do you drift before the water temp gets too cold for it to be a viable tactic. I've been struggling to put fish in the boat here lately. And where in the world do you find all them skipjack this time of the year.

Gets your bait out wider than the boat.

Hey there Steve where can I find wintertime bait here in Kentucky
still may be a few stragglers at the dams but Cumberland TN is the only place ive heard them being. good luck
Thanks Steve. I will get out and get at em

That one shot of the bank around 25 minutes in looked a lot like lake Nolin Kentucky.
not Nolin, this was shot in Alabama on lake wilson
Just the way the bank looked. I fished for bass in Nolin back in the 80's. Was a slow day but enjoyed the area. Cool temps and lots of shade around the points and sloughs. Walter F George has lots of clay and sandy shores. Nolin was a nice change.

Curious what date this was filmed? I was on Wheeler 11/19-23 and couldn't catch squat... Maybe I should have been on Wilson!

having it in the center of an Excel boat causes it to hit the front winch when loading or unloading so i installed it off to the side to fix the issue

Check ‘em every 20 to 30 minutes. If I haven’t had a bite in 30 minutes then I’m on my way home.
Steve, I live in central Kentucky and would like to purchase some monster rod holders. Do you have a store front at your shop or would I still have to order online? I only live around an hour or so away.

Looks like 10/0 circles....right?
Mr Douglas,
Take a bottle of Alcohol with you when you go out.
Planar boards dont seem to be acting right. Lotta weight on em.
If your knuckles are not bleeding, you aint fishing right! Them blues always give us fits. We call them the pit bulls of catfish lol
Wish you would have said something. This is where I live!
i fish there alot
Never been this early
Why dont you weigh and measure the fish you catch. We see you catch and release, but some of us want to know what you caught and the size and weight.
