My largest Blue Cat went 48 pounds, and I think your's might have tried to eat mine. 80 to 100 range I'd say. Excellent job of keeping him out of your other lines, solo no less.

Steve, You mentioned that front coming in and if you notice the clouds in the shot as you first net this fish behind you there is a distinct frontal marker in the clouds. There were multiple changes in weather on this day and you stuck it out paid your dues and were rewarded nicely. For this angler there is no greater feeling to see you experience that and RELEASE that old girl WTG.
I love your video's……you are a real catfish whisperer….Just guessing 80 pounds plus….I remember drooling over 35 pound Blue Cat's that were stocked in a local lake in WV when I was 15 years old……You make it look easy when fishing conditions are less than ideal…..I have learned so much from you……Thank you so much!!!

Now after a hard day working at it, that is a fish. Really nice and it took some time to get him in also. I have always liked that drag singing when they first hit it. That usually means a good sized fish. Now I'm a good sized fellow but I may not have gotten him in the boat. I'm not as stout as I once was. I could see you had to strain some. Now that was a good catfish video.

Now here is a great video, I like videos that do a little explaining at the beginning, then start fishing. The ones "not talking about you Steve." The ones that want to explain about every single thing they are doing. I usually do not watch those.

Great video Steve! This is probably the main technique that I use to fish, I use bigger floats for bigger baits like skipjack and it helps keep the bait suspended and more in the strike zone. Sounds crazy but I also seem to catch more fish on the lime green floats. I think the bigger ones I use on Wheeler are 2.5 inch vs the standard 2 inch. Also only use 2 ounces of weight and plot my course based on the wind direction which sometimes requires me to drive quite a bit to find an area that works or is parallel with the wind. The best drift sock I have found is the Cabelas 78 inch Pro Angler. Keep the great vids coming and was great to meet you at Winter Blues! The 2 ounce sinkers don't seem to hang up as bad and instead of clipping them on I just use 30 pound test so its a weak point and you only lose the lead. I average 100 to 150 feet behind the boat. Farther always seems to be better and I keep my speed .1 to .3 max.
Nothing compares to fighting a nice fish like that! My hands shake when I find em like that... I am about due again. Great work man.

as usual great video. the weather is really wreaking havoc with the heat down here near memphis. there picky and are only picking it up if they really want to. maybe a week of cooler weather will help.

That float works great when your fishing the hot shallow waters up near me where we got bad vegetation growth on the bottom. distinct difference between with and without a float both on fish caught and vegetation covering the bait. Also, we use go pros and I found you can get knock off mounting gear off ebay for nothing and it works great. I got a 20 something piece attachment kit (head , chest, dash cam, stick pads, tripod, stick, float stick, ect) with a case for 25 bucks lol FYI. Thanks for the great video.
