I love that you can customize your armor and how each weapon has its own special properties from unique damage and ranges, to manuevers and passive effects.
It looks cool, i really like the custom ancestry system
4:30 there's no medium armor. Just No armor, Light armor and heavy armor! Good stuff tho

I like damage reduction for armor, it's how it's supposed to work in my mind. I don't think "armor" translates to "ability to be difficult to hit" in any language 😅
Just play tested it and we had a blast!
My group said it loved the 4 action points and wants to keep that mechanic. So we are ganna keep messing around with DC 20. We backed it!

I like armor as HP, but this system is pretty good too. Just maybe not my absolute, best, favorite way of doing armor.
One correction: Combat Mastery is just 1/2 your level, rounded up
Always round up because that's how math should be lol

I was hoping I could learn more about the "by 5s" system with rolling higher than the DC.
Extra damage on hits, 1 for each increment of 5 over the AC/PD. For spells it can boost the spell effect/area etc
Do you ever only deal 1 damage per hit? Is the damage / hit points in the game scaled down that far?
@@Abelhawk damage and health is scaled down, but in a way that's balanced to keep damage proportional to health. 1 damage is probably more uncommon for a PC to do at level 1, 2-4 is more likely. 1-2 damage is what you'd expect from an enemy at level 1 and that could be like 1/4 of your health depending on how you build your character.

Is DC20 paying youtubers to shill it? it seems like a bunch of youtubers suddenly started raving about this game simultaneously, while the rest of us were being charged money to try the alpha.
I think it's just the latest popular game. Just like everyone wanted to try Shadowdark or Tales of the Valiant when they released their kickstarters. This will happen again when MCDM releases its game and when D&D 2024 comes out, sadly youtubers have to catch those trends to make money. Also, the kickstarter preview is free and it's 160 pages, so it's not that bad.
I got paid for my first video on the game, where I go over the KS and give my thoughts. That’s why I tagged it as ‘contains paid content’. My second video, and every video thereafter however is totally my own initiatief.
It’s important to state that I was never given a script or even talking points. I say that in some of my sponsored videos.

I know a lot of TTRPG players and DMs like me are iching for a new game for a variety of reasons, but when my youtube feed suddenly floods me with DC20 videos it makes me extremely suspicious and wary of the system I was previously trying to get my group to try.
@@Postal0311 Vagabond is what happens when you dont make attempts at marketing your game effectively. Dungeon Coach did a great job reaching out to the community and creators to get the word out about his game. its crazy that the DC20 KS eclipsed the 13th age 2e KS in a single day. 13th age 2e could have probably made more if they reached out to creators and got the word out to the community.
Um...why play dc20? Just play 5e D&D.
People should play whatever they like
