  • I apologize for not talking through this one.
    I deleted the raw footage and the cut footage got jacked up.
    Tools you will need are a 21MM socket and 1/2 inch breaker bar. Straight slot screw driver. Large slide hammer. Jack. Jack stand.
    Blue Loctite.

    Thx you made that look so easy and I really appreciate no talking, it’s obvious what your doing and the camera angles were great.I’ll rent that huge puller and I can do that in about an hour a side I imagine! Great video!

    Buying an impact wrench was the best thing that i ever did. You should really consider getting one

    Always know that if you have a good auto parts store near by, they will have loaner tools.
    Advanced and AutoZone have every tool you would ever need available for loan.
    You might get lucky and your hub won't be a corroded on as mine was.
    Maybe just a few taps with a hammer.(BFH)

    32 mm or 1"1/4 half inch drive socket, deep well.. Loosen up with tire on , then jack it up or you be haven a hard time taking the center nut off. That is what I did for the 4x4 titan. unbolt half shaft at the front differential. Pull half shaft out and then use a slide hammer to remove bearing.

    • @RideWNC

      That is a great tip.
      Did you have a lot of rust on the spline?

    Thanks for the video. It has been helpful. I was attempting to do this tonight and noticed I couldn't get to the 3 21mm bolts. The part of getting the drive shaft out of the wheel hub assembly is missing on the video. FYI, you will need to remove the cotter pin and then the drive shaft nut to get all that out of the way if you are doing this.

      I wish I had your Problem! I would love to have a 4X4 Titan.
      My two wheel truck barely makes it up the mountains around here.
      It is just sad. But pulling a 16' enclosed down the interstate is no problem.

      MikeE RideWNC I'm mechanically challenged and didn't realize this was for 4wd vehicles only. I'm still working on getting this replaced. I finally got the 3 bolts off the back but cannot get the CV axle separated from the hub assembly. I've broke two 3 arm pullers, messed up the axle hitting it with a hammer, and went through an entire can of PB blaster. I got a torch coming tomorrow gonna try heating it up and hammering away.. after that looks like I'm calling someone out. :-(

      I am guessing that you are not using a slide hammer like the one in the video?
      They are under 50.00 at Harbor Freight.
      You will pay way more for someone to come out.

      Chris Golden two wheel drive should just be the 3 bolts?

    I put Neverseze on my splines. A very light coat just for insurance that it comes apart again. Or you can use grease . On the light side because your disc brake is right there and you want to avoid contamination to the brakes. Yes wire brush the splines clean, apply a little lube & reassemble.

    Awesome video! This is 2WD right? I need replacement on mines as well.

  • @toddhale5387

    I removed my bearing today(2wd),I was so worried the bearing would be stuck but it had already seperated.A few taps of the hammer and it pulled right out.Something as simple as the abs sensor plug took me longer to unplug than it did to get the bearing out.Go figure.

    Blue Loctite.
    Do Not use RED!
    Unless you are selling the truck and never plan on replacing another bearing.

    What grit sandpaper did you use and was that loct ite you sprayed prior to sanding? First wheel bearing replacement and I wanna make sure

    • @brianlastname192
      @brianlastname192 9 лет назад +1

      +skldezigns main thing is remove rust. so wd40 and a brass brush would work too. try 320 grit or above

      Man you're a day late and a dollar short! It was an easy replace actually I just removed the hub and the bearing along with it! Thanks for the reply though.

    I no this ia an old vid , but from what I see on the hub it doesn't matter if u use the hub for a 4x4 on a 2wd ?

    • @RideWNC

      I think the Pro4X is different from the 4x4 or 2x4.

    Before you can pull the hub for the trucks first time there is a hub dust cover on the other side....fyi.

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  10 лет назад +1

      Ouch? I think you are asking about a 4x4 version?
      I have the 2x4 LE.
      I do not envy you trying to force the wheel bearing out of the suspension and removing the front axle.
      Plan on using a lot of explicit words.
      The rust seems to take over these trucks and the bearing is hard enough without an axle added to the mix.

      4x4 sir. should be easy because I've had a shop replace it twice for some reason it keeps going out. So now im doing it myself

      When I bought this truck in early 2004, they didn't have any 4x4... Just Crew Cab LE's. An entire parking lot full of them. If I would have known that the 2x4 Titan can't get itself off of a dew covered lawn, I would have waited for a 4x4 version. The BF Goodrich K02's make a huge difference, though.

      Nope. In 2004 Nissan did. This is a 2X4 LE Crew Cab. I have a 2020 Pro4X now.

      I own at least three impacts, but I often find hand tools are safer for the bolt.

      MikeE RideWNC why was the sand paper method necessary

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  7 лет назад +1

      Emory cloth. It removes the excess rust and debris so the new bearing slides in easier... And maybe comes out easier nest time. You could also use steel wool.

      MikeE RideWNC ok thanks im doing mines this evening jus taking notes

    • @RideWNC
      @RideWNC  7 лет назад +1

      Worse is doing the rear axle seal and having to cut off the bearing... But I think the rear takes less time if you have a machine shop handy who can press the new bearing back on quickly.
