Visiting Mount Mitchell State Park, North Carolina

- Mount Mitchell is the highest point east of the Mississippi River at a peak elevation of 6,684 feet and is located within Mount Mitchell State Park in Western North Carolina. Come along with me and see the long distance views on this clear late December winter day from atop the mountain at this beautiful mountain location. I'll also go on a short hike and check out the spruce fir trees and mountain fresh air. Check out the temperature drop as well as we go up over 4,000' feet from the Asheville area and the Blue Ridge Parkway entrance. This place is hard to beat when it comes to enjoying the mountains!

My girl and I hit up the same peak 2 years ago then went into Asheville for dinner. Can't remember the name of said restaurant, but they had the Mt. Mitchell burger. Yeah, I got that and it was a mountain! Brought back good memories, thank you kind sir!

Great video MMM! I could almost smell the great outdoors! Chico looked Ike he liked it as well. I think I remembered his name correctly. I was somewhere,maybe in Kentucky, that when you were at the top observation area you could see either four or five states. This area reminded me of that. Thank you.
Yes that was a lot of fun bringing the dog! Mt. Mitchell is thus far my favorite mountain to visit. The views are endless, and I enjoy the unique vegetation at that elevation. Thanks for checking out the video!

Your Mount Mitchell video came on at the end of the live stream and I watched it again.Those views are just so beautiful. I hope I can get to see it this fall but I may have to have hip surgery and I would have to wait until next year to visit the park,but I can always enjoy your videos if I don't make it there.
Yes I'd have to say Mt. Mitchell is my favorite mountain in all of the Blue Ridge mountains. I'm sorry to hear about your hip, but pray it goes well, and you feel better after it's done and fixed! I'll ba back to Mt. Mitchell and make more videos as well.

Thanks Chad! Yeah Mt. Mitchell is about 3 hours from Gatlinburg, so you could make a day of it. There are nice stops along the way on the blue ridge parkway to take pictures as well.
