No Samsung DeX. I cannot use a Galaxy phone without it. It is crazy that Samsung is using USB 2.0 on this phone which is laughable in 2023. Fortunately, it looks like the Z Flip5 may finally address this.
i dont get it. Everyone is complaining about every little detail and acting like this phone is a be-careful or dont-buy object! i have seen the amount of times people test this phone and have their opinion but if that was apple who created a flip, yall would be quiet and adoring the phone. this is really frustrating.

That's the one thing that I never quite got. Sure, the screen should have more functionalities, but some argue that you should be able to do everything on the front screen. Like, why even buy a foldable instead of a regular phone, then?
@@helloojean3474If you want to watch videos, do some more intensive web browsing, etc. Then the inner screen is useful, but a quick text reply or stuff that doesn't require as much detail then a half-sized screen is good

Or a flip with a bigger screen? They do exist and they are perfect for those who don't like small front screen. What I don't get is people complaining why people wanting a bigger front screen, it's a preference and what works for others just like how you you think the small one works just fine for you.
Fold is a phone that open to replace a tablet. Flip is a phone that open to replace a phone. The front screen on the flip is extra. Why do some people buy a flip vs a fold? Pocket space. A flip can fit in your shirt pocket or a very short shorts. A fold will tear through the fabric or bulge out of very short shorts.

I totally agree. I was using the 4 and then got the 5 cause I thought the battery life would be a whole lot better but it's just a little better. Also at first I liked the idea of a big cover screen but tbh I don't really use it anyway lol. So yea I kinda wish I would've just stuck with the 4 for now.

do you read what you write? you're saying RAM works by "lagging when lots of apps are open at once." maybe that's not what you thought you said, but it's what you literally wrote. that's literally what you said lmao.
that's not how RAM works.
if the software, OS, is efficient in optimizing tasks/apps/etc, the amount of RAM needed is less important. More RAM will always help, bc, obviously, more RAM allows for more simultaneous applications to be running at once. i.g. iphones have better than average optimization in their OS, ios, so iphone users usually experience less latency. More RAM can always alleviate this issue, but what really helps is software optimization and OS optimizations.

@@cumies but it is how ram works on most phones. he meant it quite literally when he said apps open at once, not just apps in the background that are "open" (but are actually placed in compressed ram by kswapd). even a snapdragon 888 lags if you have multiple apps running at once (split screen, windowed apps) because all the app processes are in the foreground and can't be moved to zram, hence slowing down the phone.
it also depends on how the manufacturer configures kswapd and the lmk, you can change that by flashing a custom rom but i dont know the status of custom roms for phones other than my own.
Rima, go buy an Iphone. Samsung phones are for smart people.
as someone who has the flip 4, i LOVE it. the camera is surprisingly comparable to a straight phone. its great to take videos and video call while im walking and i dont wanna bring attention to myself. the zoom isnt too good, though, i admit. the front screen is convenient to see notifs and make quick calls, and above all, its so cute and fits everywhere!

@@Cloudstuffcollectorofficial honestly, i wouldn't recommend it now, especially considering the flip 5 and 6 are out. i think the flip 5 is a good phone if you have a low budget, but, if you can, flip 6 is definitely worth it. all the main apps (for me) are on the front screen (youtube, netflix, messages, maps, kakaotalk, whatsapp), so i don't even have to open the phone todo something real quick. the camera really surprised me for both video and picture. concert vids are only nice to get the full stage--vivid colors and not much grain. i was really impressed. but only when you zoom does grain and quality become obvious. night and day photography are both comparable to my s23+, if not better. again, super impressed. hope this helps!
Hiii i was thinking about buying it. I have heard that after few months the hinges have problems . It won't close properly. Is it true ??
@@samaratabassum7825 nope -- i'm not experiencing any issues with my flip 6, yet at least. the crease isn't visible at all when using the phone. it did slightly bother me with the flip4, but i can watch all my videos without any issues on the flip6

@@makaylawhite2474I've had the z flip 4 in rose gold for a little over 1 year and it's holding great. Just take care of how you handle it and be gentle and it'll be good. At some point, the screen protector at the crease may start to lift up with air bubbles but you can fix it by a simple replacement which won't cost too much ig. The bubbling only happens after a lot of flippin and folding but its still all good. Hope this helped❤

There's an app called Samsprung TooUI, which can enable you to do anything on the cover screen.
I'm surprised very few people know this and especially youtubers posting stuff without any idea of this.
Also my screen protector was peeling off, so I removed it altogether(very slowly) and nothing happened, it's been 3 months without it and not a single scratch or mark.
I love my Samsung flip phone each to their own but I disagree with what you're saying and also why throw the phone? You could sell it or give to charity...

I also like mine because when folded shut, it resembles a folded shut GBA SP where the phone is a tad smaller. I also believe there are a lot of so caller tech gurus and wannabe tech critics that are also just normal consumers, believing they are more important than the people that like the phone the way it is.

Agree that the cover display could be more useful. I use Flex mode frequently. As for a case just get a thinner one. Looking forward to the Flip 5.

I'm still on my flip 3 had the screen protector sorted by Samsung after it bubbled up in the crease and came away now it's doing the same again I do hope they have got it sorted on the flip 5
@payroll448 no don't I know it's rlly cute but don't. Mine broke linearly 3 months after buying it from the hinge off a simple drop with the samsung case on not worth it. The screen is 600 to replace pluss 600 for broken hinge. Now I have the s23 ultra and omg I can finally view videos without having to zoom in since the z flip is so long.

I completely agree with what you are using about this device but I feel this machine is worth using it brings a new experience that is completely different from using an iphone and in terms of durability I am using Z Flip 3 since 2021 but have not encountered the situation of peeling off the screen protector as above. You should not throw the phone like that if you don't like it you can give it to someone or exchange it for another product
I bought the flip phone for it's compact size when flipped so it doesn't take that much space on my bag. I guess the thing I just dont like it it lasts about 4 hours regular use (context: 85-20% continuous wifi use light performance battery saving on, 10% brightness, apps used youtube social media apps, even faster if I play heavy games) my iphone lasts 5-6hrsin my regular use 80-30%. Battery is my only complain. I don't flip it on my home only when I go outside to preserved the screen protector lol, my goal is to make this phone last 5yrs because this is my first ever luxurious phone. I like the flex mode so I don't need a phone stand lol

I saw that SAMSUNG is coming out when the Galaxy Z Flip 5 this August. In some of the sneak peek videos that I've seen on RUclips, it supposed to have a bigger cover screen.it'll also should make the crease less visible. Just waiting for for the official release on RUclips.
I feel like a bigger display is very unnecessary cuz if it's bigger then you have no reason to open the phone

It’s a flip phone so am confused as to why you expect it to have all the icons on the cover of the phone. You didn’t buy an IPhone. Its a flip phone. If you dont want to open it because of your nails then thats optional. Of course you have to flip it open to see the icons 🧐
You should definitely use the $900 trade in for the Z Flip 5 and cough up $100 for that way bigger Cover screen and better durability.

So far, i have no problem with it.
But the phone has some years of assurance by Samsung. If your screen has problems, they will change it for free ( if comproved that you didn't break it on purpose )
The screen comes it a protection itself, so you don't have to buy a screen protection.
I never had an iPhone cause I prefer an Android cellphone, but so far, it's my best phone !to cute and aestetic .
hi im thinking buy z flip4 or s22 plus. im worried about flip4's camera and storeage. How is the camera? In my country there's just 128gb. But s22+ have 256. So if camera not good as s22+, i'll buy s22+. What do you think
@byznraydn to be honest, the cameras are average. The great thing about flip4 is that you can take selfies with the phone closed, using the frontal cameras instead of the inside camera.
The worst part to me is the zoom, it's very poor in quality.
I guess if you want a great phone to take videos or work with photos maeby the S gamma is better than the Z.
But if you have an opportunity, go to a physical store and compare the two phones.
To me, it's the user experience that wins. The way it fits on your hands, the mechanics of it, the little screen that you can use, everything is very pleasant.
I am still amazed by the phone, and I have had it for 9 months.

I have the flip 3 and really like it. I wish some things were better for sure and hope as the models progress, they improve on all the things i can find annoying. Upgrading and definitely staying with a flip phone waiting for the flip 5 to come out before I decided which one I'm getting. The oppo and Vivo flip both look good 🤩

While I know you're on a newer model now, as much as you love the convenience of that ring case keep in mind that offers very little protection of the HINGE which is actually the most vulnerable part of the phone. You should have a case that covers the hinge when the phone is closed. I love your final remark about "can't go back" once you've had a flip and I completely agree. Despite some of the drawbacks it's still worth it due to the convenient form factor which sometimes seems difficult to articulate to people who've never had one.
I want to get the flip 6 or 7 because I feel like thats when samsung will fix most problems with the flips other than longasting durability

My main concern has always been the time I'd lose having to open the phone every time... That's why I got the S23 Ultra (it's big, like a tablet, but it's fine)
You can show the actual dimensions of the picture you're taking on the cover screen by double tapping it... It's a literal feature...
The z flip 5 now is super cool compared to this but I think it still has some problems like I was really considering switching from iPhone to the z flip 5 because of the new big screen on the flip side 😂
its still a prototype. wait for generation 7,8. Cause why is there still a punchhole when you could easily use the frontcamera for selfies??, why the is the "fold kink" (im german, dont know how to tell) in the middle of the display not more invisible like the motorla razr smartphones, why a camera worse than middleclass, the durability need to be fixed and I dont want to pay for a new Screen protector which can fall of after one month or 1 year.
I got the Z4 and even though it ain't perfect, I couldn't go back to a normal non foldable phone. so convenient.
i feel like many of the disadvantages you mentioned are things you kinda have to expect and everyone would, even if they don't have this phone.
1. The cover screen isn't to do things without opening your phone, it's first knowing if you're going to need to open it.
2. This screen protector talk is weird because what screen protector doesn't get damaged at some point?
3. Valid concern. The crease is definitely there if you catch a glimpse every so often. I wouldn't respect this complaint if you were an apple user saying this to go to a notch.
4. I don't get why you're complaining about a feature that adds more productivity for everyone. I don't get how that's something to hate.
5. Yes, the s22 ultra was all around the better phone
6. Again, when you come from the s22u everything else will look bad
7. Just part of the design. I get around it by funding a rock or stick lol.
You should've said charging speeds too, i got a xiaomi note 12+ while they repaired my flip and it charged 0-50 in 15. In the end I'm too emotionally bonded to flip phones to leave. I'll get the flip 5 and enjoy that bigger cover screen.
The motorola razr+ (or 40 ultra depending on where you are) looks very promising. It looks like it has full cover screen functionality with apps so you don't really have to open your phone that much.
The flip 5 will have better specs including the processor and camera and a cover screen that's just a tad bit smaller. I say wait on it because the leaks look like it'll be the better phone.

@@bboyven good choice, I'm typing this on the z flip 5. Thankfully, all the reviews have confirmed what I thought before the flip 5s release.
I had to replace the screen protector within 7 days of purchase because it was lifting XD. I learned at the time though that I could just do it at home (I don't live near a store that would do it, and I'm weary of mail in services). The Z flip 4 isn't as fragile as the previous model and I'm comfortable touching the actual screen without the protector if I had too, but the phone costs way to much to take such a reddit risk. At most, the phone is great for conversations, but isn't as useful as I initially thought it would be.

the cell phone is beautiful dms and the issue of the crease in the middle of the screen the person is used to it, but you just have to be careful not to break it and the part of the cell phone being slow when there are many applications open in the background this was not supposed to happen or maybe with a system update it will definitely improve because the device will receive more updates over time so in general the device is great because it has a very powerful processor.❤
@@SureWas-to2od negative, maybe the reason for being slow is lack of update or maybe some buggy update came but this is simple to solve, because the cell phone is a top of the line and quite powerful and has no reason to be slow
I have the flip 3 and the only problem ive had with it is the screen protector lifting at the crease. (so did my husbands and sister's flip 3's) I hope they fix that

My sister's broke. The top screen stopped working. So until she can get it fixed she bought an iPhone temporarily. So pissed off. That phone cost too much to be breaking!!
You reminded me when I buy the iPhone 12 mini… I thought it was cool a small phone but after less than 1 month I hate it. It was too small for my hands, and battery needs at least 3 times charge every day. And it was overheating like crazy…
Nice video with a few decent critisms. I too hope samsung continues to work on removing the crease though the crease doesnt bother me at all, heck i forgot i even had a crease till this video.
Btw, screen protectors go bad on any phone, you could do what i did and just take it off. The best part about having a flip phone is its natural screen protection when closed, it doesnt need that screen protector at all.
Ive had the z flip 4 a while now, its never once lagged on me, never. It sounds like you got a defective product, which is actually the most worrying thing. It shouldnt lag even if you have 15 apps open, which i usually have more than that running. Maybe its your ram, go in the settings and increase your ram in the ram plus settings. Alot of people dont know you can expand your ram a few gigs by using some of your phones internal memory!
I loved my ring case too but towards the end i just stop using it. I have insurance on the phone if I drop it (free first two replacements from samsung) and it truly makes me happy to watch iphone people stare at it in wonder while it has no case on it. I think thats the main selling point of this device, its a true satus symbol that boldly challenges Apple and their exclusionary tactics.
Critisms on the cover screen are valid but completely solved by upgrading to the z flip 5 with that sweet $1000 trade in value of your flip 4!
Apparently the hinge was designed a little more responsive while opening to make it easier to flip it open with one hand and the internal glass is even harder than the z flip 4, so you dont have to worry about scratching the screen.
However there is one thing i just dont agree with you on and thats that the screen is fragile. I dont think its any more fragile than any other regular phone. The internal dcreen is not soft at all,its covered in gorilla glass and doesnt scratch or dent even if using long finger nails to pry the phone open. When the phone is closed it has a much higher drop rate survival than nearly every other phone on the market and thats basically the clamshells strongest perk, so i just cant agree there.

I have the Flip 5 in lavender and its great, i had the flip 4 before this and flip 5 is way better. The flex screen is amazing, i use it to browse Facebook and watch videos. I've always had Samsung's and this one is the best one I've had 😍

At the beginning of the video you threw it through the window, at the end you adore it and throw it in your pocket. It is a spy phone😉 battery and not only... makes it better than the Flip3.
sansung will launch this year the galaxy z flip 5 and the device will be very interesting because it will come with a more current processor which is the snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the rear screen will be much bigger
i have big hands, so folding and unfolding with one hand wasnt an issue. however, when i switched back to my s10 plus. i didnt switch back because of the small cover screen, or any of the flip features. mostly the fact of it being compromised compared to my s10 plus in features like only having 128gb, no sd expansion, no mst, no hr monitor, less cameras of alright quality, it didnt charge faster, battery sucked, i could go on and on. i actually liked the cover screen because it kept me from opening my phone for basic tasks. the fact that it is big enough for my phat fingers to still operate while not being so big as to negating the boring aspect of it (using the phone less because of having to open it, whle still being able to use it while closed is good for my ADHD and keeping my screen on time lower, but wasnt enough to not switch back).
long story short, it was just too compromised compared to my s10 plus. im trading it in for a s22 ultra but im keeping my s10 plus because it still just has so many features the s22 ultra doesnt have and its still very good as a second phone, but this year is the last year for security updates so that kinda blows, but its 4 years old, it was innevitable. hopefully i dont get buyers remorese and switch back to my s10 plus again with this phone. wouldnt that be ironic lol
I'm making the switch to the moto razr+ next week cuz that magenta color and front display slaps.
I got rid of the Samsung and went for the OPPO, such a better phone. Razr looks amazing too. Brings back so many memories for me!

This video is kinda of a hatelove letter. In the last 10 seconds she says how she wouldn't go back to regular mobiles and I guess this is the idea. I only plan having one of this, but I KNOW hat I'll need a strong one (like the ultra) and this one for personal stuff. It's just this simple.

Rima, I liked how u showed some features of the phone. This phone is super fast u can just adjust the ram size from settings if you have tons of apps running at the same time. I think this phone has so many features that no other phone has on the market. The innovation from Samsung in coming up with new ideas should be appraised. Nevertheless, there is always room for upgrade as the new Z5 is a beauty.

My screen protector was cracked and T Mobile got me a replacement phone Z flip4 in 2 days for $21
Very poor quality and poor service. My flip 4 was only a few month and one day the screen stops working. Bring to Samsung store, they bring it in to the repair room and come out telling me that they found a small mark/dent on the side frame which void my warranty. Should they do this in front of me if a small mark/dent void my warranty? Very unprofessional. My last Samsung product ever.

I feel you. I was used to the Motorola clam shell phones back in the day and I just loved the design. Maybe next time I'll cough up some extra $$$ and get a razr or something like that just for pure nostalgia.

I don't really care about opening one hand or the screen has line in the middle, Honestly sometimes you couldn't even see those line it's not that bad.But if your eyes noticed it maybe you just switch to another phone? i have the flip 4. i still feel at the 4th iteration....flip is still a prototype. so many things not able to be fully utilized in its form factor. what bug the hell out of me is the "open phone to access app"....like srsly at 4th iteration a lot of apps should've been integrated to cover screen like the most popular ones

I used to have the Flip 3 & 4. I sold the 3 because of the bad battery life and other reasons and i sold the 4 because it was basically the 3 with much better battery life but with the same other flaws. My main problem with the phone is that the cover screen is freakin useless. You can’t do anything on it. A smartwatch can do more than the cover screen can. The main 6.7” display also presents some problems, one of them is the extremely weird aspect ratio. It doesn’t really affect your daily usage until you play games (certain games, at least). The aspect ratio cuts out your view of the game. I’m talking about games that doesn’t enable you to move your view around the screen (Clash Royale for example). But i’m really looking forward to the Flip 5 that’s coming out next month. Eventhough the Flip line-up has its shortcomings, it is certainly the most fun phone i’ve experienced for years. It also has a few pros such as the Flex mode when you’re doing video calls. It’s so freakin useful. Everyone should give it a try. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it 😉

if the front screen is small then it's not usable if the front screen is big then what's the point of the main screen... Flip phones are the worst. Go for fold because they have actual use cases which is a phone as well as tablet. In flip phones you have to compromise on the screen, camera, battery which I think phones have to offer best.
I like mine a lot. but im bummed it doesn't have DEX and it could have better Bluetooth range.
