  • In this video we explore the process of creating a startup or basemap for a 2017 Subaru STI. This process applies to most all Subaru EJ powered vehicles. For this video we will be using the Cobb accesstuner pro software with custom features and nexgen capability. I know the video is long and may not be the most exciting but there is a ton of good information.

    Thank you for taking the time to make this video! It solidifies what changes I have learned to make over the years with larger injectors! I have been intimidated by the load compensation and looks like I have no need to worry about zeroing it out. THANK YOU!

    Hey, thanks a lot for making this video! It's super helpful. By the way, are fuel economy adjustment tables available in open-source(ecu flash or RR)? I'm thinking of upgrading 1050x injectors in my 2015 STI, and it's currently tuned open-source after installation it thinking to get a re tuned.

    How was the P0420 cleared? I understand there was a aftermarket downpipe which would make this code appear.

      I believe the car had an Invidia catless downpipe that we installed a GESI cat into, which usually satisfies the code parameters.

    What maps from the cobb accessport could I use with 1050x cobb injectors to hold me off before actually getting a pro tune?

    • @WT4T
      @WT4T  8 месяцев назад

      Depends on what else is done but if you have their 1050x map you can use that if you have sf intake but only with stock turbo.

    question about data logging on a COBB AP.
    Can I data log parameters with an unmarried COBB AP and make tuning changes and re-flashes with open source software?

    • @WT4T
      @WT4T  4 месяца назад +1

      You can log with an AP but it has to be married to something. Doesn't have to be your car. You can sometimes pick them up cheap because someone sold the car they're married to and use them for this purpose.

      Thank you, by the way! 🥰
      I only ask because I have a new in box AP that I bought for myself but am terrified to install in (marry it) to my car for fear that it will undo all the tuning and re-flashing work I’ve put into it so far, lol!!

    How can I get a copy of accesstuner I want to learn more about running but have a protune on a motor that needs it and I just want to edit my tables

    • @WT4T
      @WT4T  5 месяцев назад

      You'd have to contact Cobb and become a protuner but even with the software you'd have to get the protuner who did tune to unlock it which most just won't do. That being said as a protuner you could just start from scratch.

    During cold start my idle for 20 sec of open loop. My car will run lean about 16.xx. Once car goes into close loop, it will add 15% of fuel. Which table do I adjust? warm up enrichment , h/s enrichment, or both. Can you give me some tips. Thank you

    • @WT4T
      @WT4T  11 месяцев назад +1

      Warmup enrich target (it's a subrtactor) just subtract what you need until the coolant temp it evens out. If its just a few seconds and not related to coolant temp then you can modify h/s and l/s enrichment

      @@WT4T i'll give it a try. Thanks for your reply My a/f / short trim is lean, i will need to subract the value to have ecu, add more fuel during cold start? i thought its the vice-versa. @sskwan1 sounds like if it's adding 15% everyehere you should start with that. Make sure your injector scalar and latency is correct to the injectors you're using and low IPW tables are calibrated. Then make sure your maf is scaled correctly and you have zero air leaks (that will include your bov if you have one being fully shut on warmup)

    May i ask what your opinion is on the cause of that weird spot in the fueling at 2700 rpm? My gd Sti has suffered from that stumble for years. I have upgraded the entire fuel system including installing aftermarket rails that have built in fuel pulse dampers. Even tried two different aftermarket ecus on top of a cobb flashed factory ecu. Nothing has been able to fix it. As i understand it the fix on the gr and newer chassis was to use the GD for regulator. So this has never made sense. I think it's great you highlighted this particular issue.

      I go over it in this video but talk about it in a few others. It's caused by a combination of issues so there isn't a single fix but rather a combination of things that cumulatively fix the problem and one of those things is in the programming itself.

      With that regulator you'll need some load comp or injector comp still. It's far from ideal and overpriced in the kits it comes in
