Gary isn't just a talented actor, he's also a great storyteller, and I guess he enjoyed spending every single moment with Bowie.
I miss David Bowie tremendously and I was just a fan - I cannot fathom how much his friends and family miss him. What a lovely little peek into his friendship with Gary. Beautiful. ❤
It may go unnoticed, but this is the biggest praise to Bradley Cooper, the fact that Gary Oldman wrote him a letter congratuling him for his movie Maestro is worth more than any award

It depends on their friendship.
I think you need to have some context to understand her posture here. So first off Gary Oldman is generally a bit reserved of an individual. He obviously can be a grand individual but I don’t think that is his natural relaxed state. So I think Drew is trying to reduce the overwhelming size of the studio and hopefully make it feel like they were just chatting in the living room.
Secondly, Drew and Gary have a long history. Drew and Tom Green actually lived next to Gary when their house burned down. Gary opened up his home and they lived together while they got resettled. This was also the time period where Drew was breaking her addiction to drugs and alcohol addiction so I would be surprised if some of their friendship extends into that difficult journey as well.
Finally Drew comes from deep Hollywood and stage acting “royalty”. Her parents, relatives, grandparents, and great-grandparents were legends who also had long histories with addiction. She not only grew up as the young kid around all these generations of actors, but earned a lot of respect spending most of her life supporting her father after he became heavily addicted and stopped acting. So in a way she is just the person who has always been there and is casual friends with everyone inside and outside of their profession.

Isn't it odd that we can miss someone we had never met so much. I had been so sad about David Bowie's passing the day I learned of it. I don't know if you've ever had what I call a 'visit' dream where someone whose body has died comes to visit you in a dream? I have them sometimes from my late husband. Well David Bowie came to visit me in a dream the night after I learned that his body died and just gave me the most beautiful hug, then left. I was struck by how tall he was. I'm 5'9" and my chin hit his shoulder. He was dressed in nicely pressed trousers in a light fabric that felt like silk and cotton, and a simple light pullover top but made of a superb fine knit fabric. I think he was wearing shoes with no socks. I could feel the kindness in his heart just as vividly as I felt the texture of that fabric.
It is wonderful to find out that the person Gary Oldman is such a good guy- You can tell from his conversation with Drew that he is a devout family man and just a polite, self effacing man.

I like Drew very much -- but lately her interviews make me very uncomfortable with false intimacy -- like the one where she held Oprah's hand. This feels disrepectful. Back up Drew.. give the guests some personal space. It is very uncomfortable to watch.

Yeah, since when do we give Drew Barrymore beef? What has she done to wrong us? Her presence on here seems a pretty natural extension of who she's been for quite a while. I'm not surprised in the slightest by her demeanor here, that's Drew : )

This proximity is so unnatural and uncomfortable. If this is her thing, someone needs to break it to her that it makes viewers squirmy. It looks fake and cringey on her part, and it takes the focus off the words of her guest and onto body language/reactions instead. Super distracting! (Hope she at least has a good brand of breath mints to use beforehand.)

Gary opened his home to drew and her husband tom for months after their house burned down and he spent countless nights helping her detox from drink and drugs so Ill wager the unnatural uncomfortable squirmy fake cringe is your own internal issues you're struggling to deal with and that you're so damaged you can't tell authentic genuine human love from fake hence why you feel all those emotions.
What a sad cold and empty life you must lead.

Gary hosted drew for months with her husband while she was detoxing and her house had burned down so she's close to him and he's enjoying the conversation because they've literally built friendship doing such.
I kind of hated this man for the first half of my life - that’s how good of a villain he played.

Its hard for me to even watch her practically on top of this poor man. I can't imagine what it would be like to have someone breathe into your mouth like that. I thought Americans were known for needing more personal space. Is she just and odd one or is this more common than I thought?
