EPISODE 6 - The Pallet Wood Cabin adventure continues. We get a good amount done in this one. Including a folding table, Chair and cook up some food on the stove! We are still trying to recycle nails where possible! I don't want to giveaway too much so watch on and enjoy - Mike
TA outdoors, You guys should do a second bed that is stored under the first bed that is able to move in and out when you are ready to go to bed.. That way you're able to do a over night with your dad. And still have room when you're not going to bed and just hanging out
When I came home from work and my husband announced that he saw the notification of the next installment of the Pallet Wood Cabin, I immediately asked: “You didn’t watch it without me did you?” He responded, “of course not”...Then it was a race to complete all our nightly chores, so as to watch this video before bed...LOL...OMG, the ONION GLASSES, to die for...What a great way to end our day...Your channel is better than anything on TV...Keep up the great work on your content, videography, music selections...etc...etc...Love the outdoor candle porch lights and the creative cabin furniture....Mike, since you’re going to be spending some overnights at the cabin, possibly you may want to get some of your belongings up off the floor...A place to hang your pack, saws, Ax...The FOOD always makes us hungry!!! Maybe a shelf for some spices...Ohhhh, a bed for JAXX!!! 🐶😉. P.S. It’s still -21 to -34 degrees here in the NEK Of VT (USA)....P.S.S. My husband also said a drop down table outside for use with an outside kitchen would be nice as well.
Your dad and his vigorous sawing had me in stitches! Then the glasses came out...!! Oh my, you two are a cracking pair and I so enjoy your channel. Thanks!
I love these types of videos. And now I'm sticking around because your dad is absolutely hilarious, lovely guy. I am so thankful you're sharing this experience with everyone on RUclips. It's very clear that you have a strong bond and it's great that we get to be a part of it. If you ever have kids or already do, I'm sure they will absolutely love to watch these videos of their dad and granddad when they get older.
When you started making the small chair I thought you were making a rocking chair for the porch especially after the Deliverance reference. I think that would be cool! I really enjoy watching you guys. I started watching cos I was very interested in how to make a cabin out of pallet wood but I never expected how much I enjoy you guys, I love that you are father & son out in the woods having a great time together. The Dame Edna glasses are class! :)
This series is getting better the more it runs. The attitudes the two of you display are commendable. Keep on creating. Happy New year to all your family ( Even the guy with the weird glasses).
I love watching you and your father work as a team. I lost my dad at a very early age so I never got this kind of quality time with him so watching this brings back the memories from the short time I did. He loved to build with wood and he made my brothers and I a huge fort in a tree in our back yard. This build brought back so many memories. Tell your dad that some good ol boys from Texas are inspired by his love for you and his love to build. Keep the videos coming! Huge thumbs up guys.
Love the videos!! Not for just the content, but seeing father and son work on the project together!! Lost my dad to the evil cancer, and not a second of a day goes by without me missing him!! Enjoy each other’s company guys. I know I am. Thank you both!!
I love watching you and your Dad gives me a warm feeling. I'm 64 probably older than your Dad but he does remind me of my Dad, just like your Dad there was much he couldn't do or make and my Dad always wanted thing to not just be made but to look good too. My Dad was a toolroom turner which is why he was good at coming up with ideas on how to make stuff. Also like your Dad he was a real Dad that liked being with his kids and was always there when you needed him. He died on 09/09/99 not a date to be forgotten, so watching you both makes me smile oh and just like your Dad mine was a little crazy but that's a good thing.
As a 70 year old designer/builder who still does it, I salute you and your beautiful design/build work. Design is first about function in my opinion and this little complex serves so many purposes. "Architectural Digest" eat your heart out!
that stove is a beauty,I like how its got a water boiler and can cook food at the same time.I would probably take it home with me every time I left the cabin though.
I remember (and I'm not young) all the old family wood stoves had a water attachment, some supplying hot water for the house, others like this one to just pour out a couple of gallons or so. It's nice to see on a camp stove.
Mike, your Dad's a real hoot, as we say in the US and for that reason I just knew the chair was going to be a "special" chair with an oval hole in the middle. :-) I know zero about film making , but I do watch a lot of feature films and documentaries and your, Cinematography, I think they call it ( the way you frame a scene or transition from one scene to another) is very good. I'm not talking RUclips good, I mean GOOD GOOD. You have to tell me what you are calling your coffee cup. I couldn't catch it well enough to Google it effectively. Great Project!!
Great energy your pops has and always with a smile on. Reminds me of my own dad, always positive, and great sense of humor. Thanks God, we are fortunate for that!
Try rubbing your screws over a bar of soap. The soap will lubricate the screw so it will go into that hard wood easier and maybe save some battery life. Great series!
You gentlemen are spectacular. I found the first episode of this series today, and i’m already on episode 6. Quality content, quality craftsmanship, & quality time with each other. Love this, love you guys. Perfection. ALSO since ASMR is a thing, this is the ONLY ‘asmr’ I can listen to & benefit from. Hammering nails, sawing TIMBER, wood planks banging against each other, gourmet-woods-cookin’, & the banter between father & son. Sign me UP. (Don’t know if this means much, but I am a 27 year old lady from ATL moved to northern MN. All of what you do is brilliant. Thank you again, boys. I’M HOOKED)
This is fantastic definitely my favourite RUclips channel now you and your dad are absolute gents and your dad had me in stitches multiple times throughout, thanks for these videos
You are so blessed to have a cool dad like that ! Be thankful, I wish my dad was still alive to spend time with him !! Thumbs up. Great job you two ! ENJOY... THE SIMPLE LIFE
Hi Guys, I really like when you both sit down and give us stories etc on your channels and your lives. This really enriches your channels. You certainly care about your subscribers. Happy New Year lads. Steve in Fife.
So I just discovered your channel and I'm at home recovering from surgery and just marathoning this lovely pallet cabin series. You and your father are just wonderful, I love seeing the bond between you two. And your dad cracks me up! This reminds me a lot of my dad and growing up with him and building projects with him. It's such a wonderful thing to have a father who loves spending time with you and making you laugh. This series makes me smile :)
Thank you for showing this. I love watching you guys. I also love the beautiful relationship with each other. It is so important for father and son. It is a good example for what guys need. I wish there was more of this in the world. I am a mother of five grown up kids and I am always thinking of things to make out of pallet wood and to recycle all things. There is so much waste in this world. I am in Australia. good for you guys.
I binge watched all 6 episodes of your pallet cabin build. The relationship you have with your father is truly special. I have 2 sons ages 13 and 9.... it makes me want to take them camping soon. Your dad is a hard worker. He can work circles around most young men today. Please film a session where you and your dad do nothing more than enjoy the cabin and prepare delicious meals. Cheers you guys. To a prosperous new year !!
On the plus side of 70. Yep, us old timers got a lot of wisdom. :-) Thanks for sharing your build with us. Thoroughly enjoy each step you're taking. Have a blessed New Year.
As a pallet furniture builder myself I get posted vids like yours most days. So today I started watching this cabin series and I have learned quite a lot from them. Some things I have to say, and I wanted to say these from the first video. Firstly when I was travelling in Europe 20 odd years ago, someone gave me a luggage carrier/cart made specifically for off and on road use using four old bicycle wheels and tyres and a basic metal and mesh frame. It was amazing just how much stuff I could get on it. Now something like that would have made your journeys to and from the car a lot easier and between you, you could have lifted it over obstacles etc. And secondly. For quite a while there has been a sort of renaisance on You Tube for builders of Tiny Houses and structures like yours that are not building on site but are creating modular sections and then transporting the whole thing to site for final construction. Having said that, you two have done a sterling job on your set up in the forest, I have subscribed and look forward to more. I myself create fantasy architecture using reclaimed materials in a computer program called SketchUp using the name Aidy Madd.
Those cheap timber packing crates always made the best bird cages, and I always snagged any good ones that came across my path to convert to small aviaries. I remember at least 3 distinctly that lasted years, or until I made something massive to replace them. Great timber to work with, where the local stuff down here (Aus) is alway a saw bluntener and nail bender.
You two need to have a TV show. You guys are naturals and this series has given me so much pleasure. Can't wait to see your first overnighter. Gotta find a way to fit dad in there for that night maybe a air mattress. God bless boys.
This is the new highlight of my day - when I see you have a new video. Keep 'em coming. I lost my own dad a few years back and would have loved to have shared something like this with him. You guys keep having fun - I'm enjoying the ride!
Thanks I appreciate you for take your time to share your dad look like y'all having a great time really enjoyed watching keep up with the wonderful videos wish y'all the very best until next time my friends
Just found this channel today, and god damn you two make some great content! I'm watching this with a cup of coffee and a blanket and damn it feels right!
the reason your channel is blowing up is because you two have great sincere chemistry and that makes everything you do very real and honest and it is intriguing to see what will happen next, just the begining i hope for this channel, cheers!
Mike, Me being in my mid 50's, I can attest to the fact that your dad is always right. He and I could teach you everything that we know on our lunch hour if you want us to prove it! L.O.L. But on a serious note brother. We do call it timber in the U.S. It's called timber until it's processed into proportional sizes of slats, boards or beams. Then they call it lumber. If you will notice that lumber and lumbar are very similar. I feel that there is a reason for this. When you work with lumber all day long, all you think about at night is the pain in the lumbar portion of your back. This is just a theory. But.....since I am over 50, you better respect it as a fact! You guys are pretty awesome and I love your video's. Keep em coming and Have a Happy New Year!
Love the good times you guys are having with each other , because time fly's . I wish I could have done this with my dad , but that will never happen . I miss him very much. you to take care.
I have really loved watching this Pallet Wood Cabin come together ,what with all the doom and gloom that is bombarded upon me with radio and tv, its a real escape to watch your channel and seeing the father /son relationship you guys have got is really encouraging and all too rare nowadays ,keep up the good work !
Mike, watch him he'll be planting gladiolus next to throw at his adoring fans. Great to see you both having such fun. Great video made me laugh. Truly entertaining. Cheers
Love the oven addition. The cabin is looking great. Your dad has taken the cabin to a higher level with his many ideas. You both work so well together. Many thanks for inspiring so many people including myself.
Dude, your dad's the best lol funny funny guy. It's great that you two are doing this together. Enjoy this as much as possible, because I certainly am. The coat hangar extension for lowering the candles into the porchlight jars is brilliant. The simple fixes usually are.
Six episodes in, I haven't stopped but to take a midday break. Instant nostalgia fellas, quality father/son time! Even from this cold February day indoors, that stove looks inviting. Thanks for sharing this project, I have enjoyed it, and plan to make my own cabin from resourced woods with my father.
as I have been watching your videos I could not help but think of all the homeless folks out there who would be very happy for a place as this!!! Enjoy your videos.
This series is an absolute family gem for your future generations. It is a blessing to me to have shared in your time together. Thank you so much for posting something so family oriented on RUclips. I think this is my favorite series last year and am happy it continues to start this year off. Happiest of New Years to you and yours.
Your Dad is a real character! Those glasses were hilarious! .... Love watching you two together and love your close relationship.... I also crack up at your English accents!
A bunk bed which folded like the table would easily sleep one more and lockable shudders on the window would add security and insulate against cold nights. Love the episodes. Keep up the good work.
Sherry from Texas here. I have talked about pallet crafting for a long while. My family thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do this. They asked me "Why do I want to do this"? and I say "Because I can and the wood is free!" I love your channel! Keep on building!
I randomly came across this channel and now I am hooked to the series, you guys are awesome! And I love how y’all take the time to talk to the viewers about anything, like your lives or how you did things on the cabin a certain way, and even how the US, and UK give different and similar words such as pasta, lumber, etc.
You and your father are the perfect British couple. Extremely stereotypical. It is awesome, I’ve really enjoyed this series. My father and I are splitting firewood together as our little bonding project.
So glad I found this channel! Awesome! This makes me miss my Father, I love watching the interaction between you guys. Your Dad is hilarious and you guys do great work together. Can't wait for the next video!
It’s a joy to watch you two working and bantering back and forth. I look forward to each installment. Build memories, my dad passed away way too young. Btw, Dad, you’re quite the fisherman! I’ve been watching a few of your videos.
Guys this is a fantastic project. I wish I had a spot of land to be able to do the same sort of thing with my kids. There is nothing better than quality family time and I'm so pleased you gents get to do this together.
I heard the key to great art is vulnerability and that's what this is a man and son building something figuring things out along the way adapting this isn't just somebody building a cabin out of pallet wood for free it's art thankyou again
The thumbs up is for dame Edna peeling the onions. The cabin and surrounding is really coming on. Keep up the good work. Cheers Tim from wood 4 nothing
Truly amazed by the ideas you and your father have come up with. I’m glad I have been able to follow you two through this amazing build. Keep it up! Not many people have what you two do!
Well done guys you have done well with your RUclips career and you are very kind and genuine people in the UK we do get a lot of rain and no snow at all it's always cold and you guys mastered that. so well done again and I hope that you do succeed in what you want to on RUclips so Thank you for making awesome content for us all!
EPISODE 6 - The Pallet Wood Cabin adventure continues. We get a good amount done in this one. Including a folding table, Chair and cook up some food on the stove! We are still trying to recycle nails where possible! I don't want to giveaway too much so watch on and enjoy - Mike
TA Outdoors hey your comment says 1 hour ago it shouldnt
The benefit of it being my video is that I can comment on the video before it goes live on the channel. Any RUclipsr can do it
Nice idea, unfortunately not much moss in this woodland, but there is in our other one, maybe we will ship it in!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻 video

If you ever have kids or already do, I'm sure they will absolutely love to watch these videos of their dad and granddad when they get older.
How this channel doesn't have more subscribers will always be a mystery to me. The production quality is unreal!

That is true not just guys.

I like the table idea.
This has quickly become my favorite series on RUclips! Thanks for sharing the joy you have building that awesome cabin.
Looking good dont forget you got to make the pallet wood banjo so dad can sit on the porch "Deliverance" style
trapper23ful haha brilliant!!!
Thanks for sharing your build with us. Thoroughly enjoy each step you're taking.
Have a blessed New Year.
I recommend putting some sand in the bottom of those lantern bottles. It'll provide stability better than the hardwood.
Great idea
You are so lucky to build something so cool with your dad and feel so lucky to still have your dad
Been watching for a bit, but liked and subscribed for Dad in the pink 50's glasses. "I'd do anything for a few extra clicks." Cheers.
As a pallet furniture builder myself I get posted vids like yours most days. So today I started watching this cabin series and I have learned quite a lot from them. Some things I have to say, and I wanted to say these from the first video.

Ill give your dad a thumbs up because we are always right! lol
So far I've made bee hives from pallet wood but not much else yet. Great series!
Love it .fantastic and you have a good dad.you are geat
Those cheap timber packing crates always made the best bird cages, and I always snagged any good ones that came across my path to convert to small aviaries. I remember at least 3 distinctly that lasted years, or until I made something massive to replace them. Great timber to work with, where the local stuff down here (Aus) is alway a saw bluntener and nail bender.
You two need to have a TV show. You guys are naturals and this series has given me so much pleasure. Can't wait to see your first overnighter. Gotta find a way to fit dad in there for that night maybe a air mattress. God bless boys.
mike you can cover the roof with moss for insulation and to also give it a more bushcraft look

The coat hangar extension for lowering the candles into the porchlight jars is brilliant. The simple fixes usually are.
Congratulations on 200,000 subs!
That didnt take long
Six episodes in, I haven't stopped but to take a midday break. Instant nostalgia fellas, quality father/son time! Even from this cold February day indoors, that stove looks inviting. Thanks for sharing this project, I have enjoyed it, and plan to make my own cabin from resourced woods with my father.
That austrailian accent was so funny and the questionmark spot on
as I have been watching your videos I could not help but think of all the homeless folks out there who would be very happy for a place as this!!! Enjoy your videos.
Oh those onion glasses! BAHAHAHAHHA! I need a pair now!
This series is an absolute family gem for your future generations. It is a blessing to me to have shared in your time together. Thank you so much for posting something so family oriented on RUclips. I think this is my favorite series last year and am happy it continues to start this year off. Happiest of New Years to you and yours.
200k subs soon Mike, so happy for you ;)
Your Dad is a real character! Those glasses were hilarious! .... Love watching you two together and love your close relationship.... I also crack up at your English accents!
"off in the dunny somewhere, get lost in the dark eatin' bark kangaroo" ?!?!!?! did ...wut? 26:00
Your Dad is the best dad . you two just so good to gather. just love this. thank you for this. you made me :)
IMHO, timber is uncut fell trees and lumber is cut to length wood.
Recon3Y3z as a Canadian, I concur.
Watching you fellas work together reminds me of my Pops and makes me miss him. Enjoy your time and thanks for sharing.
When are you bringing the ladies over? ;)
I love your father/son project, your Dad is having so much fun. I love it.

Now this one here you will cherish for the rest of your life.. you two crack me up
So glad I found this channel!
Hello from Tennessee again, loved this video as well, your dad and you are special, you both always make me smile, miss Jaxx
Loved the little reminder of Dame Edna. And really enjoy watching you guys. It's truly both entertaining and inspiring!
Timber is in the round, lumber is after being cut into dimensional lumber 2x4's and such. Love your cabin, looks like a great time.
Cheers
Tim from wood 4 nothing
Recently found this channel, already love it. I love the cabin series and even though it’s 4am and school is on, you two just keep me alive!
You're dad is a great old fellow. I enjoy you both.
I'm admired by your relationship with your dad.
Truly amazed by the ideas you and your father have come up with. I’m glad I have been able to follow you two through this amazing build. Keep it up! Not many people have what you two do!
Dad is a gem... what a team
