Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands, the most populous and historically the main one on an administrative and economic level, so much so that it gives its name to the entire archipelago which is indicated on geographical maps as the Lipari or Aeolian Islands.
Sailing from Sicily, Lipari is the second landing place after Vulcano and offers visitors all the comforts for a holiday dedicated to the sea, nature and tradition.
Its history is lost in the mists of time, as evidenced by the archaeological finds in the area of the Castle. The first settlements by indigenous peoples would date back to a couple of millennia before Christ. Over time on the island there have been various dominations and alternating phases of prosperity and crisis.
Lipari is an excellent starting point for those wishing to explore all the other Aeolian Islands but not only. The island itself offers various points of interest and perhaps more than the others is able to satisfy every need.
The capital, the town of Lipari, offers hospitality for all budgets but also reserves pleasant walks, artistic attractions, museums, archaeological sites, etc. For lovers of seaside activities, the island boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the archipelago, from the equipped promenade of Canneto, to Acquacalda, from the iconic pumice quarries to the remote beach of Valle Muria. Some viewpoints, such as the Quattropani viewpoint, are extraordinary, especially in the early hours of the day or at sunset. And also trekking routes, water sports, diving, gastronomic happenings, night life, in Lipari you will find all this and much more.
With this video the virtual tour of the Aeolian islands that I have proposed to you on this channel is completed. Lipari is in fact the 7 island that I was lucky enough to visit and it too, like the other seven, has its own peculiar character. Personally I have a passion for the Aeolian Islands and it is likely that in the future I will propose something new.
The video was shot in 2021, when the effects of the pandemic were still tangible.
For the shots I used a Lumix GH5 and the faithful GoPro Hero 7. The few aerial shots were taken with an old but still efficient Mavic Air.
Editing and color correction were done using Final Cut Pro X.

Surely you can swim there. Water is warm and safe. I was there in June and there are only few tourists in that period. In summer there are much more people.
My maternal ancestors came from that island. I can trace almost all the lines to the 1500s
