Shocked and appalled that they would throw shade at Robin saying she was lucky to be alive after asking a stranger for help, but not even ask Adrienne if she was okay or even acknowledge that she was ACTUALLY assaulted. Disgusting behavior, honestly. Poor Adrienne, to go through that and then be criticized for missing an interview because you needed a moment to collect yourself. Those judges have all got GOUT.

@@JLDReactions Yeah? Well why the HELL would they edit them talking to her out but keep in the part where she was assaulted at all? You can't possibly be trying to defend the show when this situation was shown at all with absolutely no closure. Its clear to me anyone defending this just do not understand the severity of sexual assault. If this was SO important to show/storyline at all they absolutely should have at least included something positive to try and make a positive message about such an issue, but no, it was merely exploited for drama and absolutely not addressed during judging so they could add some extra drama and keep people engaged.

@@amberpapamber2718 she was on her way to her next interview when a man grabbed her and sexually assaulted her. It was actually quite horrific, she tried to fight him off and everything. Of course it wasn't shown completely but the show gave you the idea. She was really upset, so rather than go to the next "go see" holding back tears, she sat in a quiet place. All they showed on ANTM was the judges slamming her for no pulling herself together and getting to the interview. Because of course, miss thing Tyra could be hit by a bus and still make 25 go sees by 11am!!

The part that makes everything even more uncomfortable about how this show treated Adrianne is that she has a horrible, terrifying history with being k**napped and SA'ed in her childhood. This situation must have triggered her more deeply than we can even imagine and it's a testament to her resilience that she even stood for judging when no one was checking in on her mentally. The lack of compassion and empathy from these humanoid flesh bags is astonishing.

I had to stop the video when you were talking about Robin and her 'nervousness is not of god' moment. I grew up in that hateful southern baptist persuasion that is probably akin to hers and... it is not far off the mark. Negative emotions were definitely punished and taught that they weren't "of god". You don't have to fear anything, be anxious, lonely or afraid. If you believed in god hard enough, you wouldn't feel these things. Therefore if you felt negative things, it meant you weren't being godly. Never mind that men and their anger *weren't included* in these negative emotions. patriarchal bullshit.

Something I actually learned about recently is Shannon struggled with an eating disorder. She wrote about it on her blog in 2017. She doesn't mention ANTM specifically, but basically she struggled with annorexia off and on starting in her early teen years. She states that when she was 13 she ended up passing out and being hospitalized after restricting before a modeling search. Thankfully at the time of writing the blog she was doing much better, it seems her faith helped her recover and she sees her inherent worth.
I find it interesting though, what migt've been going through Shannon's head when they were speculating about Elyse. They weren't making it a comfortable environment for her to share or ask for help, that's for sure. It probably showed her some of how people would react if she mentioned her own history.

I understand your frustration - I’m an atheist, and hearing people tell me I can’t possibly have morals or empathy because I don’t believe as they do makes me want to scream - but we should never sink to others’ levels. While Shannon did say some ignorant things, she was very young, and totally steamrollered by Robyn. Not an excuse, but I think it’s understandable.

Elyse told once in an interview that during this cycle production was very inexperienced and they had major issues with the editing, specially with this being a fashion themed show. The drastic styling changes made it way more obvious when they tried to cut and paste situations to manipulate the narrative. Also, when the editing process of the first episodes took place (which happened during the filming of this episode, I believe) the girls were asked to provide additional commentary on things that actually happened way earlier so they could fill the gaps on the narrative of the show.

It's intelligent presuming she found someone nice. I think if she were to do it without a camera crew, she would have been in huge danger. There are multiple arrondissements in Paris that are known as "no women zones" because you are basically sure of being at the very least verbally harassed. She said the man came up to her and asked if she needed help, not the other way around. Were he a bad actor he could have been targeting her, a foreign black woman who doesn't speak the language so litteraly no chance of her going to the police, and easily brought her to those dangerous places and attacked her, where no one would help her if she screamed.
Basically, it was smart on paper but not street smart. Zero self preservation skills.

The look on poor Andrienne's face says it all. After what she experienced, the judges are in no position to treat her like that. If anything, they should applaud her for what she managed to accomplish. Navigating your way around an area you're not familiar with, let alone a different country, is hard enough. Being SA'd while you're doing it makes it ten times worse.
Edit: I just watched the clip of what happened. It was so disgusting that the camera man just stood there and filmed the whole thing happening. If I was one of the crew, you can best bet I'd be flying over there and land my fist into that pervert's face. Sure, I'd probably get fired, but so what? It'll be worth throwing my career out the window to protect someone from getting SA'd.

Riiight? I can read French pretty well but as soon as someone starts speaking I'm all "Non non non non nooooo par-lay Fran-say." I am so embarassing lol.

Where to start on the history of the isles- research the Celts, and the Picts. Britain is named after Britannia- essentially the Patron Goddess. Ireland's main Patron Goddess was/is Ériu which is where we got our name from (Ireland is Éireann in Irish, Ériu became Éire which is Anglicised now as Erin).
There will be a lot of regional history and information in the UK, but start with the Celts, Picts and pagans and itll be simple enough to follow from there. And always remember that the church had a shitty habit of transposing their Christian holidays over local pagan ones to better integrate the 'heathens' and their idea of the religion 🤦‍♀️
    Hope this was remotely helpful.
Thanks for bringing me this wonderful video of scandalous Banister Caressers. I'll need something to look back on happily as I politely suffer through Christmas 😆
