I'm so glad you mentioned how Nicole was really pressed during her go see interview but she got super complimented on her girl next door looks only. I found that to be extremely shady by ellegirl or production and im really glad you called it out!!
I agree, especially since she made it known to them that she was uncomfortable like another girl, but that girl got ridiculed for it and she didn't.

I forgot about this episode entirely. But the way Nicole was treated throughout the competition really was unfair to the others. The one positive I see is how this is an origin story on how Kim became an MTV News anchor
That comment "You can't let people know when you feel uncomfortable" rubs me the wrong way. Easy for her to say when she's not in mud. She sounds really indifferent.
Models only have to fake it when they on camera or when they're on stage doing runways; they don't have to fake it all the time.
The show puts the girls in unrealistic situations and uses the excuse "tough the girls up" to sugar-coat it, while they just enjoy embarassing the girls to get the ratings.
I remember when I first watched this as a kid and it bothered me then. This was solely meant to embarrass these girls
1:32 “where’s the ninja warrior setup?” Well Jessica, there was actually a ninja warrior setup for a tacky ANTM photoshoot where they had the girls swinging from a rope
How to be a model in 2 easy steps
1. Fit the beauty standard of your country or city
2. Get along with people at face value
Or just be born a nepotism baby and you're the number one model in the world (usually after a number plastic surgery starting at 16 that your parents paid for)
The production team picks an activity out of a hat and THEN brainstorm a reason for why it should be relevant to the competition.
The Elle interview felt like a sit down with Regina George and her Plastics
Tyra if she was honest would have said I want to embarrass you and belittle you because I have the power to exploit your dreams
…….This is why I respect Naomi Campbell far more. 😂😂😂 She was hard on her girls on her show, but she would NEVER stoop to this for “good TV”.
There's a reason Naomi Campbell is still relevant and thriving. She's far superior lol
And if you watch The Face, she is brutally honest and just No Filter.
I'm pretty convinced that at least 75% of these challenges are just some ANTM executives fetish at this point. There's absolutely no reason to put the girls through this.

Honestly, I think it would have been impossible to make a modelling competition on TV that mirrors the real world of modelling…and that allowed the models to have some control…
Tyra’s archnemesis did a decent job at it.
@@JEPiper I didn’t watch that show, so…I don’t know, but let me tell you what I mean…photo shoot concepts take time to create and execute, if the model says no to a photo shoot concept for whatever reason, you can’t just throw one together in 10 minutes, so if they refuse…they will go to panel with no photo…
It's not 100% realistic, but if you like modeling shows and want to find one that is a bit more realistic, I recommend Bravo's Make Me a Supermodel. It aired about 16 years ago but I think someone uploaded a few episodes to RUclips.
“The face” was waaaay more realistic though. All the challenges were actually relevant to modeling and it is still a very fun show to watch.

Another bite of embarrassment for TV ratings. 🙄🙄 Even first watching this, I had to ask people who would really do this?! Yes, I know we have The Pursuit of Happyness for those who watched that movie, but seriously, not like this would happen in a professional environment.
Caged (pet) rats are actually super clean 🐀
Growing up, I had pet rats and they are lovely! So sweet, love their cage to be clean, use a “litter” box, they can be super loving, and they’re intelligent ❤️
Oh man. That lady doing the interviews was just dripping with insincerity! When I was younger and more naive, I probably would've rolled with it. But now I don't have time or tolerance for that mess! 😅

MTV Challenge even put money into the winners’ bank accounts, I agree ANTM could do the same. Or like…Drag Race gave makeup and wigs and stuff to challenge winners, at least give them makeup or clothes or something more useful.

1:40 cycle 4, half of the final 6 have to sleep in a tent in South Africa while the other 3 do glamping in a bug infested resort.

There are people with sensitivity problems, gemaphobia or other mental health issues that this would be psychological torture. Probably Tyra and Jay would have just have made fun of them
Nicole acted like a spoiled privileged brat and was never punished or criticized for it THE ENTIRE SEASON . That’s what made it so hard when she won … She behaved so entitled I could never get on board with her winning . Nik was robbed
I completely erased this challenge from my memory for good reason. Why would they make the contestants do this in front of the editor of one of the most influential fashion magazines in the world?
Also it seemed that Lisa basically criticised the magazine to the Editor’s face by saying the models on the front covers all had the same facial expressions. I know editing might have possibly played a role but that’s what it seemed she said which is a huge no-no. And yet she won the challenge? *Scratching my head*

The dry humor just fits here. I hope the Australia, Britain, Asia or Germany’s version didn’t have challenges like this. Wonder what Jessica would say in other top model shows since most would target the models, like Alex Perry or Yu Tsai.
The girls who lost the challenges of Australia next top model got punishments on the first 4 cycles.
Elle Girl had their final issue in 2006 😂 a year after this season aired
I could have been distracted but are Nicole, Bri, and Nic the only ones with pictures on their foreheads and also the three finalists of this season
Kyle had stars on her cheeks - not forehead, but shows they weren't the only ones to draw on their faces. And Nicole had wiped her heart off her forehead before doing the interview (if the implication you were making was that the symbols indicated or influenced who they chose to move forward to finals)
@@danitini14 Nicole had a smudge on her head, yes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t see a smudge. If you go back to the interview with Lisa and some of the others (like Sundae(sp?)) on this channel, she says that the finalists are pretty much chosen from the beginning (also said on other YT channels) that’s why they give special treatment to some models and goes into them choosing the photos. I just thought it was interesting for this reason because they want to show Nicole in her best light throughout the series so she’s more marketable. Very few of the challenges or photoshoots ever mean anything.

I’m surprised ANTM never made the models wear depends and poo themselves - “sometimes modeling involves being in uncomfortable situations, if you can’t go a small chunk of time in a dirty diaper maybe you just aren’t cut out for the cutthroat life of a model…”.

I used to love these videos, but now I can't watch them because Jessica's always talking over it, or doing these weird commentaries and answering every question the girls are asked. At this point she should just make videos of herself talking about nothing. Because that's what these videos have become 😢

Recently people have done those muddy, obstacle courses called *Tough Mudder* & got rashes and/or got sick because there was traces of *FECAL* matter found in the mud when they tested it. Hundreds of people got these symptoms days after doing them. SICK! 🤮
