I want seven worst default outfits that you can't wait to change out of
starter pokemon outfits (except serena in xy)
Perfect idea!
*andy seeths over arthur morgans woeful, non farrant approved wardrobe
@@gruggerduggerhoose I kinda like the outfit. Also, I didn't want to spend time changing it.
Kazuma Kiryu's white suit 🤣😭
You forgot to mention Dizzy's instant kill, where a ball of energy barely misses her opponent (by her mercy) and creates a massive mushroom-cloud explosion over in the horizon. The shocked and/or terrified opponent then wordlessly surrenders upon realizing the massive power gap between them.
Especially funny with Chipp and his mute "...seriously?!" pointing at the blast.
The best finishing move is when Mike defeated Andy in Hitman multiplayer.
(This will never go away)
I hope to god those videos are backed up somewhere, hopefully multiple times.
So Animality and Mercy make the list, but Babality gets snubbed. I see how it is.
Ah the olde beat us until we fetus finisher.
I love babalities I was hoping to see them in MK11 but I guess we have to wait and see if they get added to MK 12
And they also miss the Hara Kiri in Mortal Kombat. Why give your opponent the satisfaction of doing a fatality if you can just take your own life.
Also no hara kiris, for shame. I love them and want them to return, a nice piss off to your opponents
find someone who loves you like andy loves fighting game list videos 💕
I heared romours about a secret spell: Write the words "I love Kingdoms of Amalur. It was criticaly underrated!" in the comments and you will never bei alone again. 😉

@@Dood.on.the.yard1 considering it was mentioned in this video I’d have to say yes.

Something about the "Dieeee!!" during that surrender execution, had me cracking up for far too long.
I'm going to have to try and get my hands on Bushido Blade 2 now.
It and 1 were both great games, unique and deep for their time. Lots of secrets too so loads of replayability.
Play it with a good mate that wants to explore a game. A "win is a win" gamer will make this game seriously unfun
Welp, not gonna play the game since I'm that kind of person.
@@michaelandreipalon359 There's honestly plenty of fun to be had in a serious match too. The limb damage and one-hit kill factor makes planning your moves and parries very important.
My favourite Guilty Gear instant death move is Dizzy's because the attack doesn't actually hit the opponent. Instead it flies behind them and causes such a huge explosion that the opponent surrenders out of fear
Absolutely love the flawless executions of the "Shuffle, Duck, Duck, Slap" Fatalities on display here.
"Finish him!"
" No, mercy."
"Wait, so you *don't* do finishing moves?"
"No, mercy!"
"But it'll look so cool!"
"I said no, Mercy!"
"I want to revive him, though!"
"NO, Mercy!"
Bushido Blade and Bushido Blade 2 are such underrated gems. Still to this day my favorite fighting games. They deserve a full remake or reboot.
Mortal Kombat’s ‘Kreate-a-fatality’ is like Build-a-Bear Workshop if you got to the ‘choose me’ station and chose violence
Violence is never the answer
Violence is a question, and the answer is yes
I liked the ring-out system. Situational awareness is key in dueling, after all.
Fun fact: I trained an arcade machine that way. Our college had a Soul Calibur 2 machine back in the day, and it had a competition mode. Talim was my go-to, and I opened the first round with her lunge attack. With good placement and a follow-up combo, you could get a ring-out in seconds. The game tracked your fighting style, so before long I started seeing AI-controlled Talims going for ring-out assassination runs like I did.
ring outs suck
One day I was at the arcade with my friend who was competitive in fighting games, but Street Fighter 3 was open, so I somehow bungled my way all the way to the boss. Then a rando jumped into the game and beat me up.
This made my friend mad, so he hopped on, destroyed the person, then gave his game to a little kid, and we walked away.
That was my favorite finisher of all time.
3:14 You know, it really is fitting for the Kabuki character to yell "O, I am slain!" right after getting shot in the back of the head. Very theatrical.
6:27, Man what a great soundtrack. Suddenly the excitement came into the room like you were a 90's kid opening up a Sunny D bottle.
Obviously Scorpion turns into a penguin. What did you think he'd turn into a scorpion? That wouldn't make any sense.
Thats cause turning into a scorpion is Sheeva's thing, obviously
But if Scorpion turns into a penguin, what does sub zero turn into?
@@JabRok86 Exactly what I was thinking. So, let me see if I got this right: Sheeva turns into a Scorpion, Scorpion turns into a Penguin(obviously), Jackson "Jax" Briggs turns into a lion, Rain obviously turns into an elephant(just because), Reptile turns into a monkey, and scares his opponent off, Mileena is a skunk, Sindel is Mothra, maybe? Kinda cool; I suppose; i think Liu Kang turns into a dragon and bites your head off,(even cooler), I have no clue what animal Kabal is, but it looks like an anemic rhino? Not sure what Johnny Cage, Stryker, Raiden, Kung Lao, Jade, Sub-Zero, Cyrax, Smoke, Baraka, or the rest turn into though. But I do think they should bring Animalities back.
Well, he's already a scorpion, isn't he. He wouldn't really change if he turned into one.
@@shawnfields2369 From what I remember having played the hell out of this game, here what the rest turn into:
- Johnny Cage turns into a Kangaroo (Because thats absolutely on brand..probably)
- Stryker turns into a T-Rex (I mean he does look old so turning into a dinosaur is fitting)
- Raiden turns into a Electric Eel (Kinda fitting?)
- Kung Lao turns into a Cheetah (Because he doesn't fight fair..or something)
- Jade turns into a cat (At least I think she did)
- Sub-Zero turns into a Polar Bear (Again, Kinda fitting)
- Cyrax turns into a Shark (Definately remember this thanks to a guidebook that helped me with that button combination)
- Cyber Smoke turns into a Bull..thing (Shadow or silhouette, something that looks like a Bull)
- Human Smoke turns into a Porcupine (because thats totally what you do)
- Baraka turns into a Vulture (Sorta makes sense as he's still ripping into you and tearing off your torso)
- Sonya turns into hawk (Still feel like this was a missed opportunity to go full 'Merica and make be a Eagle but that's just me)
- Ermac turns into a Frog (As you do when you have telepathy as your main power)
- Sektor turns into a Giant bat (Which kinda fits the "More stealthful then the dark, more deadly then the night" Moto in MK9 if you think about it)
- Noob Saibot turns into a Anteater (Because he does what he wants, I guess)
- Nightwolf turns into a Wolf (Didn't see that coming)
- Kitana turns into a Rabbit (and aims straight for the Groin area, an image I'm kind glad wasn't reimagined in current gen graphics)
- Kano turns into a Giant Tarantula (Another image I'm glad wasn't brought back in today's graphics)
Also, Sindel actually turns into a Giant Wasp (Hence the Zero-chill stinging)
Shout outs to Dizzy's IK where the opponent just gives up after being ALMOST hit by a nuke.
I have no idea why they didn't mention that one
She's a playable character along with Sol and Baikan in a game called epic 7. You get to use that as her special move
Oh and Elspeth ( I think thats her name I never could summon her) the gal with the rabbit ears that shoots the love bullets
Chipp's reaction is my favourite!
@@riksweeney I love Slayer's. Just *shrug*
In Mortal Kombat X, the Outworld Market stage has a unique brutality wherein you bludgeon your opponent with an old woman, then the old woman - apparently of her own volition - savagely beats them to death with her bare hands.
Rad.
That one's already shown up in the "most embarrassing finishers" list they did. :-)
Am I the only one who is impressed by how good soul caliber 2 looks for its age
I think we need a Bushido Blade revival.
I have to add one Animality...
Noob Saibot turning into an anteater and swallowing the opponent alive.
Not quite the same thing, but I think Yoshimitsu stabbing himself is a move for the violence connoiseur
Missed opportunity to show Dizzy's "Surrender" instant kill move.
I was thinking the exact same.
Dragonball Fighterz has Dramatic Finishes, wherein finishing a fight with the right character on the right stage against the right opponent will cause you to re-create an iconic moment from the anime. Even if that moment led to your character ultimately losing the fight in the anime itself.
The Reverse Yamcha XD
Ah , nappa got yamcha'd by yamcha
That “ring out!” Sound really took me back
Definitely I’d add the Dramatic Finishes from Dragon Ball Fighterz, you can tell how much effort the developers put into making them look just like the scenes of the anime
Link had a brutal move in Soul Caliber where he would twist your arm and then fling you to the side. So I just tended to use that throw .
I know exactly what you mean. I did the exact same thing with Link all the time during my time with SC2. Good times. I loved doing that against every other character. Especially Raphael, who loved doing his multi-sword stab throw near the edge of the ring almost every single time. Or Yun-Seong, who had a dickheaded throw move, but it did look pretty cool. But nothing beat Link's arm throw out of the ring though. Just flipping over your arm; while literally twisting your arm at the same time, and then throwing your ass out of the arena; what an awesome move for an awesome character. That version of SC2 was how I became a fan of Soul Calibur in the first place. Good times... just throwing people out of the ring, and then, hilariously following them out of the ring yourself right after. Hilarious to do.
This is one of my favorite series. Thanks Andy
Bloody Roar had a fun spin on the ring out. Many stages had walls that could be damaged and broken, allowing ring outs. Well-timed and placed attacks or combos would send the enemy through the wall into ring out land.
"One day I'll learn a second move, but not today."
I feel like this was an attack on how I play SC campaign...
To be fair, I feel like this can be a good summery of many people who learn that one move to spam in a fighting game period and do nothing else.
i can't believe the section on ring outs didn't show a single person jumping off the stage after achieving victory, what's the point of a ring out if you don't also jump into the abyss with your opponent
Or how they didn't show the player moving the enemy towards the end of the stage, the player doing a jump kick or slide takle move and 1 of these 2 things happening... 1) the opponent ducks while you're in the air and you fly right over them and out of the ring... Or 2) the opponent side steps you, causing the camera to move, while the opponent watches you fall off the edge
While I appreciate the ring out solidarity (I did it, too), what baffles me is that none of the ring outs were with Kilik (who I figure is second only to Raphael in ring out capabilities...and one of his "throws" has him tagging the opponent in the groin with his bō).
Always been a fan of Mortal Kombat's Frendships.
But some don't even make sense even in the game logic
For example, from all the possible friendship to Kabal they made him play the Xilophone
@@kirbyinthereallife4980 that's exactly why I like them, they're nonsensical.
@@EiferBrennan I mean with the Kabal one i think they ran out of ideas
@@kirbyinthereallife4980 that's fair.
What about Dramatic Finishes from Dragon Ball FighterZ? Being able to replicate moments from the anime is a pretty boss way of finishing things off.
You all deserve a medal for showing Bushido Blade 2, that game is a masterpiece!
Be honest with yourself, Andy, you could have just filled this with Mortal Kombat finishers. I quite liked the Dramatic Finishes from Dragon Ball Fighter Z, really added a bit of flair to them.
Just came from the Oxtra video and was waiting to find out what MERCY is an acronym for.
Massively Entertaining Really Crippling Ymbarrassement?
Mike Enjoys Raspberry Cream Yogurt
Ring out was my favorite way to insult my opponents. Especially the ones that run straight for you at the beginning of the match. I had a guy Sprint right towards me into a dive attack. I dodged to the left and he ringed himself out
Ring outs, you say? Not bothering to learn another move, you say?
Killer Instinct. Spinal. I can't remember the exact sequence, but it involved teleporting in front of the opponent followed by a shield charge. Dead easy to pull off, includes a combo breaker, and pushes the opponent back a fair bit each time.
It's so cheeseable that I once managed to clear the first three fights with the TV turned off.
It’s not technically an actual finisher, but I love that in Skullgirls Annie could theoretically finish a fight by handing the opponent her autograph.
I say theoretically, because I can’t land that attack for the life of me.
Have you done "games where you could customize your character but shouldn't"?

Ah yes. Ring outs. The reason for one of my most embarrassing losses in a fighting game ever.
Was playing SC5 with a friend - I was using Viola. Had the friend close to the edge of the stage without realizing, and tried doing a combo. Said combo resulted in Viola leaping about 50 feet in the air, flipping over the opponent aaaand...directly out of the ring.
Ah yes, the old Link in SC2 diagonal step arm grab off the ring. Painful memories, no one could get close to him. Now I have darth Vader’s grab you by the chest and pants and power bomb off the edge, revenge! (Of the sith).
I would always play Lizardman/Sophitia/Cassandra in a way that let me nearly insta-ring out anyone who got near the edge. Uppercut slash > spin kick > ring out!
Don't forget Asteroth's running power bomb.
What about the Final Vents from the Kamen Rider Dragon Knight game? Nothing better than summoning a seemingly robotic Mirror Monster before hitting your enemy so hard, they explode.
Dizzy is the best instant kill to me in Guilty Gear. I love how she fires a nuclear blast and misses her opponent and they just look at the camera and surrender with a look that says "nope. I'm done screw this" 😂
Rain's tiny elephant is always hilarious to me
I don't think Rain appreciates you drawing attention to his tiny elephant.
@@OtakuD50 😂
@@OtakuD50 It is rather rude now that you mention it.
I love how Andy threw in a bit of shade here and there.
I love Andy's random lists that show up
As soon as I saw a flash of guilty gear all I could think was: "Faust's Destroyed move better be in this" thank you for not disappointing
Another ArcSys game here, what about the BlazBlue series' Astral Finish moves?
No dbfz dramatic finishes? Yall gotta check out the Super Broly one, or the Kefla & UI Goku one. Scratch that - just watch them all, they're great if you are a DBZ nerd.
My favourite is where Yamcha gets his revenge on Nappa. Who's getting meme'd now eh?
Never been this early to an Oxbox vid. Very nice.
Any time I've tried fighting games, whether Smash Bros or something else, I usually end up doing random button smashes because I never play fighting games unless I'm over at a friend's place and they want to play one. Random button smashing served me pretty well in Super Smash Bros back in college though.
I miss Bushido Blade, that game was so awesome. LOL I remember that in the first Bushido Blade you could play as the smaller character with the the smallest weapon vs a player with the giant two sword, who could simply stand in rest pose, be charged by the smallest character with the smallest weapon and impale themselves briefly on the point of the giant sword just to attack.
I loved Soul Calubur 2 for Link and his backwards throw thst wins from the edge being behind him. Underrated cheese!
I personally like the Blazblue's Astral Heats. Though if I would say Relius Clover's and Amane's Astral Heats are on the creative side.
Relius Clover basically puts a variety of torture methods based on the opponent. Ranging from simple restraints and bindings, to something hilarious, and something suggestive.
Meanwhile, Amane's Astral Heat will turn most of the cast into their younger selves. Though for the rest, they either turn into something else, or totally different yet somewhat related characters
You left out the best Instant Kill: Dizzy's. It's an attack from her Reaper wing that would surely obliterate her foe if the kind-hearted Dizzy didn't interfere and cause it to barely miss. But it's so overwhelmingly powerful that it creates a mushroom cloud where it lands. Her opponnt takes one look at the devastation, turns to the camera, and surrenders, complete with a unique "Surrender" graphic. Every fighter reacts in their own way, too: May is crying, Chipp points at the devastation while his jaw drops, Axl raises his hands, and my favorite is Slayer, who just shrugs in a "C'est la vie" fashion.
I'm just glad more people know about Bushido Blade 2.
I like that you chose Soul Calibur 2 to represent the series.
There are several Final Smashes from Smash Bros that would fit the list. Mr G&W turns into a giant octopus. Villager builds you a house. Olimar blasts off into space leaving you to get eaten.
I am really quite sad Def Jam Fight for NY didn't make the list with any of its options.
Not even an honourable mention?
It was actually covered in a previous video, particularly the blazin' move known as "Ballz to Wall".
That Yung-Seung throw to ring out was my favourite dickhead move playing couch vs back in the day lmao
I liked the stage finishers from Sega's Eternal Champions; eaten by a dragon and gunned down mob style drive-by we're fun and a new take on the concept at the time!!
There is always the old arcade/Sega Genesis fighter Time Killers. At any point during a round you could knock you opponent silly, as noted by stars floating around their head and their inability to move. If you could get next to them and slam all 5 attack buttons at once, you would use your weapon to remove their legs, arms, and head.
I liked that game.
Never played it, just watched it at a skating rink.
I still can't believe that we still don't have a sequel or remaster for Bushido Blade.. It's concept is amazing! I miss this
I love the finisher from guilty gear where dizzy misses her opponent and the power of the missed shot is so overwhelming that the other character just surrenders
Ah Soul Calibur. I had great fun way back in SC2 playing matches against Ai controlled Yoshimitsu. Three seconds in he's already ringed himself out with his flying helicopter chop.
I remember this one arcade setup for one of the Soul Calibur games that had a team war mode where each player would choose a side in a war to fight. Well... I would make a second character so I could fight for BOTH sides in the war. Thing is... my second character I didn't really WANT to win with, so I would use combat tactics designed to lure my opponents into self-ringout as an actual strategy! It didn't work often, but it was funny.
One of my favourite Destroy Moves is Elphelt´s, which has the enemy give up in fear after she fires off a nuke. That and Baiken´s but hers because it is just so super stylish.
Surprised they didn't mention Link's throwing move in SC2... With YOUR back to the edge of the arena, you'd do a little flip over your opponents arm and shove them behind you. No need to, as Andy said, "switch sides". Easiest way to get through arcade mode.
MK's most creative by far is the new brutality system introduced in MK10 and MK11. They're 100x more satisfying to pull off than a regular fatality because they require effort during the actual fight instead of just memorizing some button prompts at the end. Some of them even require you to utilize the Mercy system mentioned in this video, while some use the stage props as well!
i found dramatic finishes in db fighter z to deserve a spot, they were just pretty and complicated to achieve
Scorpion should turn into a scorpion, right? No, that's too obvious! Turn him into a penguin with EXPLOSIVE EGGS!!!
I think the my hero ones justice also has “ring outs” but the major plus ultra move to defeat your opponent is pretty awesome and should’ve been here lol
While perhaps not on the same scale of "creative" as Faust's instant kill, I'll always be fond of Dragonball FighterZ's Dramatic Finishes. Defeated Z Broly as SS Goku in space with a heavy kick? Watch a re-enactment of Z Broly's death. Did the same to Nappa as Yamcha? You get to finally see Yamcha win out against the Saibaman.
It's all top quality stuff.
Scorpion's Animality will forever live in shame.
To be fair they made ring outs harder with each iteration and started making most maps without ledges, almost all the ring outs shown wouldn't have gone through in 4 5 or 6 they require decently strong hits otherwise the edge is treated like a wall, the first one the edge was an actual edge if I remember correctly and you could just walk off
Hara-Kiri's in Mortal Kombat Deception surely deserve an honourable mention, where you can cheat your opponent of their Fatality by finishing yourself off in an equally horrible way.
Even weirder, there was a bug where if a Fatality and Hara-Kiri were input at the exact same time, characters would perform their fatalities on THEMSELVES.
It took me a few too many minutes to realise the title was ironic.
The main thing I remember about Bushido Blade was just having the best twist ending in a commercial ever.
In Soul Calibur VI, all the characters have quotes expressing their frustration upon losing via ring out. My favorite is Mitsurugi shouting "Fight properly!" as he falls off a cliff
SC2 is my favourite of the series so I'm super happy it was the one chosen for the list
i remember the original soulcalibur, got so good at cervantes double sword throw i finished arcade in less than 1:30 playing in the mirror cos i was too lazy to move seat, stab stab throw and out
Was waiting for GG. Wasn’t disappointed.
Bedman's insta-KO is called "Nightmare Theater," in which he drags the opponent into his "dreamlike reality" and subjects them to their deepest fears.
Holy dang, Bushido Blade! Very yes
Injustice and the sequel has something similar to street fighter storage transitions where if you do a back power attack at the wall of certain arenas you would trigger things like sending your opponent for a brief tour of the phantom zone or being attacked by various members of Batman’s rouge gallery
Rogue.
Get the spelling right, Batman doesn't have a gallery of makeup products.
@@catluvr2 ohh sweet lord I missed that typo
Mercy is mostly used when you fail the Brutality. Or if you are a monster, you can humilliate your opponent. But there is always the risk of them fighting back and defeating you with an 80% Combo
There was a very mediocre fighting game for the Nintendo 64 called Mace: the Dark Age. One of the characters there was a sorceress named Talia who could transform her opponent into a chicken as a fatality.
The best part was, not only was it humiliating as hell, but it actually unlocked the chicken as a hidden character who was lots of fun to play.
7:40 - not sure what was destroyed but my heart sure did.
I haven't play that much fighting games but I think the turning your opponent into a gold statue of yourself SSBA that Cagliostro from Granblue Fantasy Versus does is certainly a creative way to finish someone off
Bloody Roar, there are certain moves that launch your opponent to the other side of the ring, if this move is used as the final blow, your oponnent is launched and breaks the border of the ring, literally kicking him out with fashion (Best Style launchers from Shenlong/Long Back fist hit) In certain Stages, Like Under Highway, sometimes when you launch your opponent out, a car can hit him and relaunching him even further.
Stage Ultras from Killer Instinct on the Xbox One is definitely up there in terms of winning with style. From smacking your opponent with a wrecking ball to sealing them away in another dimension, you can't get more wacky than that.
2:58 that’s actually called Seppuku it’s a way for Samurai to restore their honor after they surrendered
For Honor had some fun environmental kills as well, if you don't mind the guy you killed getting salty because you took advantage of a game mechanic. you could throw your enemies off cliffs, into deep water because nobody can swim or impale them on spike walls.
Tekken tag tournament 2 item finishers should be on this list.
I mean, what could be more creative than Kazuya's hammerhead finisher?
Extra funny to watch, and extra humiliating to recibe.
In Soulcalibur's defence you can normally turn the ring-outs off. Make Astaroth and Raphael actually earn a knock out. Lots of other modifiers too like ice floor or explosions that send fighters into the sky if they get knocked off their feet.
If you do a sequel you should include final smashes from the smash bros series, my personal favorite is yoshi's from ultimate where the victims get trampled by a stampede of yoshis
I've won against my cousin in a Soul Caliber game by knocking him out of the ring.
Then I jumped down to "finish the job".
So much effort was used for them SC rings outs Maxi and Siegfried both have one button ring outs.
Andy plays Raphael in Soul Calibur, the vampire with a rapier. I find myself unsurprised. Now if only they gave him pirate and cowboy outfits then Andy would be set.
(Outside Oxbox studio, the following morning)
Jane: "Mike, did you remember to lock the studio before you left last night?"
Mike: "Er... I think so?"
Jane: "Well the door's half open, so I'm guessing you didn't. And what happens when we leave the studio unlocked?"
Mike: "Andy makes a fighting game list video."
Jane: "Andy makes a fighting game list video."
(The pair enter the studio)
Jane: "Oh man, there are Hadoukens and Ultra Combos everywhere!"
Mike: "There's an incomplete list over here as well... Top 7 Fighting Game Frankensteins."
Jane: "Something must have startled him halfway through making it. Good job too, the comments section would have exploded."
Mike: "This is going to take ages to tidy up."
Jane: "You're the one who left the studio unlocked."
Mike: "Fine, I'll grab a mop..."
I love how Animality made absolutely no sense given what animals the characters turned into. Scorpion turns into a scorpion? Nah, a Linux Penguin with exploding eggs. That's the ticket! - LOL
The devs just leaned fully into the absurdity and I loved it.
