For a basic usable Landy you really can't beat a TDI .
I love my own one and am currently building a new engine for it so it can get a few more decades of life.

Excellent video as usual guys. Would you consider a short one showing how to adjust the mechanical fuel pump (more in depth). I have a Disco 300tdi with a boost pin and ring but feels like it lacks a little. Thanks again for a great series

Excellent job. 300 was my favourite engine but so many were lazy from the factory, I've adjusted a lot over the years but like you say you need to know what you're doing and how it works. A combination of clicks, angle, and some sanding. Go too mad and the EGT's go through the roof!

Fab Videos Lads, very informative and full of energy, enthusiasm and fun. I have a 1987 110 V8 with LPG conversion. Due the poor availability of LPG in Northumberland. I have bought a complete Disco 1 MOT chassis failure. I aim to take out the V8, and place in the 300TDI engine, reconditioned gearbox, transfer box, etc. What do you think? 😊

The fan mounting is crap. :) I did the same to my RRC. The blades flexed at some point and the blades hit the radiator, breaking the fan blades and the radiator. It is much better to mount it with a little distance to the radiator, in case the blades flex. :)
