    Definitely stands out as a V8 Special should!! 👌👌 Guess LR didn't make them different from a Diesel to save costs in production plus I suppose anyone who buys the V8 in the first place wants to be different from the crowd and these modifications have shown what can be achieved. As ever and fantastic result from you guys!!! 😃😃

    Be reluctant to go wading with all those bits just stuck on, but what's the likely hood of that going off road. I drove a new 110 when they first came out at Land Rover Experience Dunkeld and was impressed but felt some what detached from the experience.
    They are a good car but I'll stick with my proper Defender 90. Must be nice working on a new car for you guys.

  • @rossfalkingham9778
    @rossfalkingham9778 Год назад +8

    I think the new defender (when they’re not malfunctioning) is an undeniably brilliant car. But personally I’ve said all along they should have allowed the old defender to just die and called this new defender the new discovery, which is basically what it is. It would have made a far better discovery than it has defender.
    Great content as always @juicemotors, would love more frequent uploads! Haha. Keep up the good work mate love to see it

    • @eastwood978
      @eastwood978 Год назад

      What has malfunctioned on yours? Software upgrades? The new Defender has many design cues from the classic inside & out. It looks like a modern version of a classic Defender so it is. It would look completely different if it had been a new Discovery which already exists. If you want a basic version then buy a Commercial with steel springs.

      @juicemotors  Год назад +3

      We haven’t altered the fuelling of the engine, but I think it’s more a development of engineering. It still retains the valves so it’s quiet until you want it to be super loud! It’s surprisingly civil inside the vehicle 😎

    • @thomashrubecky1663
      @thomashrubecky1663 Год назад +1

      I'm chuckling because the "Maybe I'm getting old…" comment is coming from a guy called "bangbang"! I too am getting old (59 in Sep of 2022) and you're EXACTLY right! There's a kid over the road with a "snap crackle pop" tune that ruins my peaceful mornings. Well, I say kid… he's in his late 30s. So long as the Defender has a neighbourhood-friendly start-up mode then it's all good. That creation of yours is a literal BEAST of a (new) Defender. I'd love to see what you lads could do if you got your hands on a Defender 130. That'd be some serious fun! Just remember: neighbourhood-friendly!

    Always enjoy your videos and the work that you and the guys do at Juice. However, as you have invited comments, I have to agree with others on here. I too thought of a Hackney cab as soon as the light bar was on. Maybe more so because it's a black car. Secondly, the front end reminded me of my Disco 4, slightly more square in profile. Maybe I prefer under-statement. With that V8 plastic trim is redundant. Apologies if my comments sound harsh.

    The new Defender has grown on me. Nice for a daily driver and know that it is an incredibly capable car, but I would never take it to the Australian outback. My Defender 110 Puma has proven itself numerous times and had no problems. Deep long water crossings, corrugations, desert, dunes. Sure not factory standard, but no crazy upgrades either and no lift! Sure if I had plenty of money or won the lottery, I will have the new Defender as a second car.

    • @juicemotors
      @juicemotors  Год назад +3

      Working on one up close certainly helped it grow on us too. I still love a Puma, although there's no problem with deserts or dunes here in the UK just yet! 😂 They all have their quirks and best applications. The V8 certainly is fun though!

    What this video has highlighted is what a waste of space the “checker plate” is.
    Does anyone manufacture a metal plate for the bonnet and wings you could actually stand on and has anyone modified a new Defender that is for off road or less bling and more rough and tough?

      We haven't modified the vehicle's GPF - it's a cat back exhaust and is totally road legal here in the UK. No remap or tune either. The Milltek system is also e mark certified. The vehicle still retains it's valve system, so you can have it quieter or louder depending on how and where you're driving. Hope you enjoyed the vid!

    I don't get why a manufacturer would be making a sub 10mpg vehicle these days, also, I'm sorry guys, making it louder!! Imagine that thing driving along your high street or past your house if you've been forced to buy a new build close to a road, which seems common practice now, It's a loud way of saying "look how much money I've got", it's just inconsiderate to others. You're just providing the environmental lobby a big club to bash 4 x4 drivers over the head with. The owner has more money than sense, or a really big ego. The mods do nothing for this car, I don't think it's a vehicle that takes modding very well and "side steps"...........that really is a mud and water trap and 90's bling, they'll be rotting in about 7 months!!..........sorry, getting very grumpy in my old age.

    • @juicemotors
      @juicemotors  Год назад

      Land Rover has manufactured this vehicle with a V8 engine whilst it's still possible to do so. They know there's a market for it, and some people still appreciate this kind of engineering. Each to their own! Side steps are of good quality with a good powdercoat and won't rust out anytime soon. Hope you can appreciate what we've done anyway, we're just trying show a variety of the builds we carry out 😊

      @@juicemotors Sure I get it, just a bit of a rant on my part insofar as they're hitting us with all these green taxes, Manufacturers need to take a view to stop producing guzzlers, I know the V8 has been around and we all love a burble, I just think it's a little in your face in terms of noise and a little anachronistic, Glueing bits' of plastic on to flash motors doesn't show you and your guys excellent skill level like your other great videos do, really like the channel and what you do........just find this one a bit crass really..............but I'm just a grumpy old git, thank you for taking the time to reply 🙂🙏🏻
