That 90 looks just right! Absolutely loved this video! You clearly understand the art of how to visually modify a car without taking it too far.. Look forward to seeing the interior!
Love it I’m 57 and ive loved the idea of having one from the age of about 14 ish. Sadly I know nothing about engines and the problem that a defender 90 can throw at you, the vehicle you just turned out is 100% Well done
I’m going to have to put you right there - I’ve owned a 1996 300Tdi 90 for 6 years now and it has been utterly reliable for over 30,000 miles. Even when it does go wrong, if you can’t fix it yourself then a good local independent Land Rover garage will be able to sort it for not much at all (compared to cars these days that are stupid complicated and expensive to maintain). The older the simpler, don’t put barriers up for getting one, just do it!
Chequerplate sils, galv bumper and silver painted rear crossmember were absolutely the right choice. Personally I would have kept the original rims and wheel size, I think they looked better in the arches and with the overall fit. Bodymatched arches were spot on but not sure on the mirror caps, I think silver mirror caps would be overkill but maybe the same colour as the roof may work (need to see it to know if it's right or not). Spot on with the lights and the smaller grille, that wrapping round further behind the bumper would have looked wrong. Like many other comments, keep it as a van back! Top marks so far 👌
Glad you mentioned the wheel nuts. Check out the ones that Wrington Engineering do. Not cheap, but good quality and finish off steel wheels very nicely
Well done it looks great I personally wouldn’t fit side windows but would fit rear quarter windows. It looks really good as it is with solid sides but it’s your choice. Great work
push the pin through the centre of the arch clips much easier to get off than destroying the arches by forcing them out sam thought you would of known that pmsl, totally looks the dogs bollocks to me very cool ,wouldnt mind them lights for one of mine
I thought it was going to look poo, but those wolf wheels with balloon tyres really turned it around. Can't wait to see what the interior is going to look like. Well done.
Looks amazing. Heritage look is always the way to go. Tire and wheel combo really sets it off. I’d colour code the roof. Looking forward to the next update 💥💥💥
Got to be honest when you said you had painted the wheels blue I inwardly cringed ...but then I saw it was classic steelies and I realised the vision ......simply stunning !
Thanks guys for another great episode. The silver accents are ace, although I would have painted the gal front bumper to perfectly match the grill, in photos the galvanised finish isn’t as refined as the grill’s. Cheers
That looks great, i'm not a big fan of body coloured rear X members but the silver one here just ties in with the rest of the silver/galv bits really well, wheels look excellent. Looking forward to the interior.
I have the same colour combo on my 90 Puma SW. When polished and waxed the colour is amazing. Silver bits work for me very well (hinges, door handles, optimill mirror wings, etc.). However for over 3 years I have the vehicle I find it hard to decide on the front grill. It has the original plastic grill and surrounds painted in grey - I dont find it good for my liking, but so I dont the grill here ... maybe a heritage grill in body colour? Anyways thanks for the inspiration (galv bumper, silver chequer plate and silver rear is interesting combo) looking forward to next episodes.
Looks fantastic! Gonna be even better when it’s fully finished. I agree the green would be great too & different to see a car upgraded in green rather than black/silver or another run of the mill colour! Maybe next one?? Wish I could afford a basic one let alone one of your magnificent creations. I’ll stick to driving the works one. It’s modified too.🚒 blue light & sirens! Haha
Hey man I hope you don't mind me saying. WOW I love it!!! 90 s are my favourite but sadly never been able to afford one. I do alot of wild camping and this would be so perfect. My question would be how much would something like this cost . I'm an auld guy and a dog.
I would’ve left the rear x-member black and kept the previous mudflaps. Also, I’d’ve sprayed the chequer plate sides and the Nakatanga grill in Cairns Blue. The steel wheels look right with black bolts or you could’ve sprayed the 5-arms of the Boost alloys in Cairns Blue and kept the rims and bolts as silver. I’d also have kept the front bumper black. I think it needs a swing-away rear carrier in black as the weight that heavy steel will kill the rear door. Though I’m with you on the clear lenses as they kill the heritage look and I prefer them in their original colours. As another poster said “Don’t out the windows in”. Otherwise it’ll look like every other 90. Maybe put in a discreet rear view camera. I have to say I’m surprised you weren’t tempted to spray the roof silver.
ELEGANT/CLASSY LANDY Of 90/110 Criteria, now there's a terminology that I would not advocate for such vehicle's. Your enthusiasm appreciated, though I'm just showing my age. My Old Girl was a 'Work Horse' Military 110 Camo 'Matt' Sprayed by myself occasionally. Applying once or twice a Sledge Hammer for acquired Dent's when Father dying. Shiny Landy's with the Spot Weld's just seem alien to an Old Got like myself. ENJOY All your Driving such as now CULT Vehicle's 👍
What's the music? Love it! Do the LED headlamps connect straight up the the old crystals? Looks great but not so sure about swapping the Boost alloys. What tyres did you fit? You didn't say.
what would the cost be to spray a 110 compleatly in raptor?? also want to add security to henges and other stuff, but need it resprayed first, also how long would it be before i can drive the vehicle after respray. PS i am a old git and love the front, it looks clean and yep deffo old school, and overall i like the look...
Don’t put windows in the back of it look so nice as a van
I vote for windows in the back!
I'd prefer windows too .
Panoramic windows would ‘keep’ the van look. It’s what I did with mine (Arles blue with a white roof) and I am pleased with the result
Keep it as a van 👍👍👍
Agree … 👍
That 90 looks just right! Absolutely loved this video! You clearly understand the art of how to visually modify a car without taking it too far.. Look forward to seeing the interior!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A
Omg, I am in love. One thing I would add is a wheel carrier. Just long-term preservation of the back door. Love the grill.
AAgree with everything so far, beautiful
The juice is flowing again! Looks great, Sam!
Much love to all the JM crew from across the pond.

Go the extra.. ..BMW diesel....looks amazing...yet another successful project....and excellent viewing..
I think it looks great, the blue and silver looks classic and adding the colour coded arches is a winner. Nice one.
Looks great, keep the Van sides!

Beautiful cinematics at start and lovely music. Very impressive.
I think that I would have made the lettering on the bonnet silver and as you say stainless wheel nuts will stand out 👍🏻🏴
This is my first time in your Profile and am here because of the defender. Old School Design and am loving it.
Yeah baby so excited to follow a new build
Big yes for wheels and l.e.d,s and wheel arches no to the grill and silver bumpers
I agree with the others. Leave it as a van. Looks great like that.
I love all your work, everyone that leaves your garage is a work of love...
Looks brilliant bar the front grill and the blue on the wheels for me
perfect vision - cant wait to see the interior!
I think those wheels look fantastic, so much better than the alloys . The colour proper suits them , great job 👍
I think so too!
Lovely upgrades
Hey Sam, great video thank you. I love the ‘restomod’ look to this one - so right! 👍
Top work guys! I would love to see your take on a Range Rover Classic or L322. Any chance of that down the road?
I've just been re watching some of your older vids , what's happening with "old red" , perhaps an update episode ?
Outstanding work!!
It all looks fab, the styling is spot on, interior next!
Looking sweet! Can't wait to see what you do to the interior.
Wow that looks sweeet. Those wheels are epic
Class 👌🏻 perfect little touches have transformed it dramatically. Top job!
Looks gorgeous. That rear bumper looks great with the Galv front bumper, awesome work. 👍🏻
Rough Diamond to Fine Cut Gem 💎
When finished that would look awesome outside my house ☺️
Glad you mentioned the wheel nuts. Check out the ones that Wrington Engineering do. Not cheap, but good quality and finish off steel wheels very nicely
I do like boost alloy wheels, but must admit those steel Wolf's colour matched to the body look pretty good.
Well done it looks great I personally wouldn’t fit side windows but would fit rear quarter windows. It looks really good as it is with solid sides but it’s your choice. Great work

🤣 old clips are so brittle it’s easier to snap them and replace with new 😍
I thought it was going to look poo, but those wolf wheels with balloon tyres really turned it around. Can't wait to see what the interior is going to look like. Well done.
Looks great. Not so sure about that grill though.
Love it. White roof needs to go though. Paint same colour as car. Will rock with rear side windows.
loving the upgrades, would, however, suggest possibly doing the roof in Zambezi silver too! Would bring the build together really well.
I was just about to suggest that too. Would tie it all together nicely!!
Absolutely mint 👌🏻
That’s a awesome build, I would go camping in that 👍
Looks amazing. Heritage look is always the way to go. Tire and wheel combo really sets it off. I’d colour code the roof. Looking forward to the next update 💥💥💥
Those wheels and tyres 👍 Along with that grill ! 👌
Yet again you've smashed it. Interior next 💪
Got to be honest when you said you had painted the wheels blue I inwardly cringed ...but then I saw it was classic steelies and I realised the vision ......simply stunning !
im liking the look of it funny the front didn't look right to you put the galv bumper on it
Looks great super job, don’t put windows in the rear very nice as a van I reckon!!
That looks SO GOOD!! Well done!! WELL DONE!! I wish I could buy this!.. CANT wait to see it completed. :)
Thanks guys for another great episode.
The silver accents are ace, although I would have painted the gal front bumper to perfectly match the grill, in photos the galvanised finish isn’t as refined as the grill’s.
Cheers
I love the inconsistency of galv, it’s way more interesting than a flat silver, it’s like the Landy version of carbon fibre
Great video, you guys make juat the right amount of changes to make the difference, when do we get to see the new interior ?
Quality workmanship
Lovely 90 , going for a similar look on mine .
Great start shame that there’s wind interference when your talking but can’t wait for the rebuild 🎉
Fantastic work as always! Could you tell me what manufacture of headlights you used please?
It looks great with all the mods you've made. I'm just not convinced about the front grille.
That looks great, i'm not a big fan of body coloured rear X members but the silver one here just ties in with the rest of the silver/galv bits really well, wheels look excellent. Looking forward to the interior.

Nicely done, very tasteful 😊👍
I’ve got the same wheel & tyre combo on my 2.4…. Grey choice!
It looks really nice as a van
Looks fantastic! Gonna be even better when it’s fully finished.
I agree the green would be great too & different to see a car upgraded in green rather than black/silver or another run of the mill colour! Maybe next one??

Love the Landy and what you've done to it, but that grille doesn't seem to fit. It looks to me, like an afterthought
Love these videos back on the channel! Looking forward to this one coming together. Question: what headlights are those? Big fan
Great vision.👍👍
Looks class to be fair.

Bloody amazing....can the pups get an episode?
Get that roof painted silver done a really nice job on that bud 👌🏼👌🏼
Fantastically styled.! Where did you get the headlights from?
Definitely looks the part, except for the white roof. Silver as well ?
I think the roof could do with some Zambesi silver too, what say you?
I light the head lights and the fender flairs but don’t light the grill think I would look better behind the surround
now I want one...another one.

Hi Sam just wondering what became of the Big Red project?
What's the music? Love it! Do the LED headlamps connect straight up the the old crystals? Looks great but not so sure about swapping the Boost alloys. What tyres did you fit? You didn't say.
Looks awesome Sam!
Question, will those tires rub at full flex and full lock without a lift?
Nice mods, not sure about the tyres though. Is there a slightly smaller size available? Looking forward to the interior. Thanks.
Love the colour! Have you got a paint code for that blue?
Just the blue, I'm looking to paint my 90 in.
What is the exact colour of the car? Metallic Blue? It is wonderful!
what would the cost be to spray a 110 compleatly in raptor?? also want to add security to henges and other stuff, but need it resprayed first, also how long would it be before i can drive the vehicle after respray.
PS i am a old git and love the front, it looks clean and yep deffo old school, and overall i like the look...
On windows looks good now 😊
Love the headlights, where can I buy these??
AWESOME
I would have done the wolf wheels in white to match the roof and the classic theme.
Great video! Where can I get that type of headlight?
Love the music choices :D still not sure about that grill though... :O
Also, lovely camera work at 27:35 :)
Great work!! 👌
No windows in the rear. It looks well as is.
💯 on the ac nakatanenga wow
nice one.
I've missed these Juice videos! Don't get me wrong I still enjoy the new videos but these are the ones 👌🏽
Will you retro fit A/C now you're using the A/C Grille??
Not on this vehicle - just prefer the look of the shroud
Do you change the speedo gears when you put larger wheels and tyres on.
Metal grill looks 100% better than plastic louvers. The more alloy the better bumper to bumper.
Nailed it, love that front end, maybe the roof needs to be silver, or is that too much?
Looks class 👌
Awesome work as always bud one question I've always wondered what happens to your old parts
What headlights are those?
