The Call [Lord of the Rings]

BEFORE ANYONE SAYS ANYTHING! my designs are mishmash of movie and personal hc designs sometimes based on the books sometimes not (see basically everyone except for gandalf/aragorn/boromir)- SO YES... my hobbits have tails. i think its cuter that way but its not canonical!
so!
someone (me) got into lord of the rings. then proceeded to watch the whole extended trilogy several, several, several times to the point where i organized a whole three week long weekly watch session to introduce it to a whole group of my friends. since i keep yammering on about it i decided to make a video after my housemate said that this song is a lotr song and yaknow what!!! SHES RIGHT!!!!!
i love how earnest and loving this stupid trilogy of books and movies are, like the worldbuilding is insane and wonderful and something to aspire towards as a gm, but like, its the fellowship that really gets me here!! like theyre not even really a team for more than a book (rip boromir i love him to bits yes im aware that he could be seen as boring or mean but... i like him.......) but the fact that this unlikely team up made ripples all throughout the rest of the series and how their friendships were what saved the day? cinema. i obviously put a little focus onto aragorn, sam and frodo, but like really this video is about all of them.
i just! i like it! i like that its about togetherness in the face of great turmoil and danger and it has problems but gosh! if sams speech at the end of two towers doesnt get me. in the same way that the horn in return of the king signalling the arrival of rohan gets me. in the same way that sam and frodo tenderly cradle each other at the end of all things.
im just saying! this story has some top tier friendships! and you bet your butt i cried! i really cherish my experience with this story. even if the books took me a long second to read (i first started fellowship when i was around 12 and it took me all the way until... this year... to finish the books........)
i wasnt a fan of the movies until say, 2019, i had formed a good chunk of my personality around NOT LIKING LOTR but then i convinced myself that, hey, its a classic for a reason right, why dont we try to actually watch it and oh oh what what whAT THIS IS LEGITIMATELY SUCH A MASTERPIECE OF CINEMA...
again. have problems with it. but boy, did it hit me right when i needed it to.
ANYWAYS. i hope you enjoy it! i poured some love into it and its not... a masterpiece in the way that the movies are, but i hope its something of a little tribute that i can make to the world of middle earth. i know the video community in lotr has been quite active lately! orcs with normal voices dude! ur cool! that one 9 hour comp of sam saying this is the furthest hes ever been from the shire! wowza!!! good content.
its been a source of joy. which is sorely needed.
this one has backgrounds! for once!! which is why im happy to report that it took me a grand total of 24 hours to complete over the last week and im probably going to crash now... and my hands are paying the price ;w;
im still hammering out the dr pilchard video, can you believe it, i actually broke my 3 video streak twice in a row its actually blasphemous of me BUT i broke my rule about never using the same music artist twice already (abba and queen just!!! slap!!! what can i say!!!) SO MAYBE ILL DO THAT OVER EASTER BREAK? or in the summer. we might have a mechs resurgence yet.
