1: Person attracted to animals=zoophile=\=furry (some furries are attracted to anthropomorphic animal characters, yes, but not all of them and even then that’s completely different)
2: Not all furries dress up in fursuits, let alone for sex. In fact, I remember multiple interviews of fursuit users, one simply showing that they can be lovely people, just having fun and bringing joy to others and that other one where one of them was asked about the use of these suits during sex and he basically said « those suits aren’t that comfortable and it gets hot very quickly in there. So if you want to do it wearing these, you can try but good luck with that. »
I am guessing you just saw some sexual drawings from the furry community (I have seen some, even some I wish I could forget, yes, but that’s not exclusive to furries. Every fandom has that) and you just rolled with the worst possible judgement. I, on the other hand, didn’t just watch people talk about furries. I also talked to furries, both on the web and in real life as well as watched content from said community and it only solidified my respect for that community. If anything, I saw mainstream communities that were wsy more toxic than this. (Like, I like Star Wars as much as the next guy but it has been home to some of the most toxic of « fans », over the last few years, even though they aren’t all like that)

The haters are the problem, there's still plenty of normal and good things about these communities. But people originally viewed them as bad. Why can't people just IGNORE the toxic sides, that way it becomes better.
This list also keeps growing, there's countless other examples with stuff like this, these communities are just viewed so poorly, it's so dissapointing.
