Started rewatching the live shows during Xmas week working from home bored out my skull. Honestly, we aren't ever going to see anything like this pair again. Truly genius , truly entertaining and in Riks case, truly missed. Legends forever ❤
The stretching of the underwear part around 09:30 - When I saw this live Ade was sweating pretty bad and was really outta breath when he got near to the edge of the stage and someone in the audiance shouted out "get some exercise ya fast bastard", ade then took half a second to compose himself, turned to rick and said "Hey Richie, theres some really fucking ugly fish in the sea tonight" lol
I saw the show in Cardiff, at the 34:29 mark when Eddie was about to hit Richie someone in the audience shouted 'Smash his fucking head in' and the response was Richie saying 'That has to be an Englishman' and Eddie added 'Is Stephen Fry in the audience?' The timing was so perfect I think it was a plant in the audience. In that same show someone was kicked and Eddie said 'That's the problem with my family, they're all cunts'
I saw this live in York with my dad, well under the age of 18. I still remember it as a really great night and the bird played up then too! The banter with the crowd was awesome too, such a tragedy we lost Rik before a reunion of these two on TV could ever happen. RIP and thank you for the laughs Ade and Rik, you've been a massive contributor to my sense of humour (can I sue ;)?) and Bottom is something I link to good times with my dad in my childhood, which was a rough time for various reasons. Legends fr.
I think he's carrying around a lot of guilt from pulling out of Bottom Series 4 during the writing when Rik really needed some new projects - Adrian not so much as he was really pushing stuff with The Bad Shepherds at the time. Apparently it upset Rik quite a lot and reading between the lines they may have actually not been talking at the time he got the news. Such a tragedy if so and he really should not blame himself but yes I to have noticed he does seem much more flat since even when being interviewed about his comedy projects.
@@Wildeheart79They were talking at the time and were still best friends. Ade talked about in his book how about the last day they saw each other and how it was just a peaceful walk in the park and they were just talking. Going on about how it was genuinely such a lovely day for them both. They may have had a disagreement about the project, but you’d have to do a lot more then that to destroy that kind of long lasting friendship. He still remembers that day well he says.
@@RadioWaves80 I've just read the book myself and he doesn't say that at all but actually says that they had a big fall out over Rik counting how many jokes each had and he had started refusing to meet him for lunch because Rik always wanted to talk about their next project and Ade had lost all interest. So basically my original suspicions were correct and confirmed by the man himself. Why would you make something up that isn't true and easily disproven?

Saw this whilst still living in japan on some odd channel. Barely understood a word said apart from my cousin running a constant translation(or attempt). Me and my sisters were rolling about laughing. They just worked so well together and at times could see them trying not to break down laughing as the other broke script.
Not entirely correct the actor from Drop Dead Fred is the guy from this and countless other seminal UK sitcoms. Drop Dead Fred was brief foray into Hollywood but he was a national treasure in the UK long before that.

Yes I agree with you. They started to repeat themselves and it was clear they were running out of steam. But they could have done more with it, as it always worked best when they were in a situation outside of the flat. Such as the camping episode, or when they are stuck on the Big Wheel. And with the stage shows like when they end up in jail in the second one or on the island in the third. They can then milk the situation for all its worth. This one was a retread of the thirds location then a second half in some weird nowhere place. Its just them ripping into each other for ages, but its still funny as its them....

Such a great show! The Pants song was just hilarious!

I'd forgotten how funny Bottom was. It was a shame there was not more of them. Ade and Rik made a great comedy duo.
i was at this show, aged 25, and now i'm 48, and now i feel old. i was back there last February to see Al Murray, and absolutely nothing has changed.
