- I've been waiting for this piece to come in so I could install it ever since I ordered it, and the timing's pretty good for the install considering the car's gonna be just sitting there for another few days. I could not be happier with how it came out and honestly for $40 it made a really big difference to the interior of the car. It definitely feels like its been modernized and the overall process was done in just a few hours.

I agree about the thin steering wheel! I have an aftermarket cover on mine, but it still does feel right. This is a good project!

I bought it and rushed into it when installing it highly recommend you find a time to do it where you have the flexibility to work on it the next day just in case you suck at sewing like me. Now, I’ve had this steering wheel cover for months, and it’s still on my steering wheel, poorly sewn. My struggles doing this project were.
1. Not creating enough slack for me to work with the top section.
2. The struggle of tucking the leather into the plastic after I’ve sewn my three sections. The most challenging part for me was tucking it behind the steering wheel. It was so hard for no reason.
3. At the beginning of this video, he recommended adding the adhesive tape first to the steering wheel. I cleaned it and everything and followed instructions. However, I struggled more, having it already taped to my steering wheel, which I couldn’t adjust easily because of the tape. So, I had to take the tape off and say f*ck it. So I sewed it on without the tape, where it was easy enough for me to adjust the steering wheel cover the way I needed to.
4. Once I was finished sewing it, it was difficult creating a knot that wasn’t seen by the naked eye.
In conclusion, my steering wheel is left wrinkled on the back due to too much slack in the leather. The corners are poorly tucked into the plastic due to me sewing the corners, which made it more difficult. Because I was confused about when I should’ve cut my string. So now I’m left disappointed to this day that I installed it poorly and left it there for months because I don’t want to go through my obstacles once again. All because I had lack of patience and lost my temper with my complications. Though my friends and family think it looks nice, I know what I did wrong and I don’t think it looks or feels nice. I mean it does look beautiful but because of the way I installed it I butchered its beauty in my opinion.
So there, I’d thought I share my complications with the class. And maybe someone can provide some solutions to my issues. And hopefully, I can make people more aware of the difficulties I ran into so that they don’t do them their selves. Good luck if you got it. I’m probably gonna redo it. But I do think these steering wheel covers look better than the shitty ones you’d get at Autozone. Good luck and have better patience than me. 😁
I just bought one similar to this on AliExpress for $25. I will have to wait about 3 weeks to receive it but that's ok. I don't have the time to do it right now. I also have a set of the rear bumper reflector led lights I've yet to install. Waiting for the weather to cool down a bit.
Hi from the UK 👋 I bought something similar to that for my Ford Mondeo MK5 same thing as your Fusion really, but without the carbon fibre effect, just a universal leather one and it was perfect given it was less than $5

I figured it out. Turn the head light on by turning it to the right. Simple little thing.
I have a SE 2.5 NA fusion with a non leather steering wheels and it started to degrade. Thought about swapping a leather steering wheel on it. Then found your video on this cover. Bought one and i am gonna attempt this project this weekend!

sorry for very late comment , not sure if you’ll respond, but what did you do with the double sided tape? and was it actually necessary for the install ?
It keeps the cover in place as you stitch it together, I imagine you could do it without but it’d most likely slide around and take more effort
Is it a dificult install? Cause I'm not too confident in my stitching abilities 😂
Honestly it was way easier than I thought lol I’m not confident in my stitching abilities either but I’d say it’s like a 4 out of 10 difficulty, there’s a rhythm you build and then from there it’s definitely a lot more approachable!

Nice yo, you should do a video on how to add Apple car play to your Ford Fusion. My Ford dealership wanted me to pay $1500-$2500 for them to install Apple car play in my car even tho I have a 2015 with a tech package. So yeah but keep up the awesome work
I heard the conversion for sync 2 to sync 3 is just an adapter for $1300 I wanted to do it because sync 2 is sooooo slow
My sisters care has apple car play and its the nicest thing, I'm considering the tesla screen though because its about $700 and you can add apple car play for $50 I believe, plus it looks awesome
Yeah you can definitely feel sync 2 being dated but it gave me the option to install my xbox so I'm still happy lol
I just had sold a OHC steering wheel for $400 with the airbag real carbon fiber with paddles and controls only if knew you were looking for ☝️

I’d imagine so but it probably wouldn’t heat to the same extent

I would imagine so just because its an extra layer, but I don't have heated steering so I can't tell you for sure

Only thing I am concerned about is the carbon fiber portions and also in the description of the product it says heat resistant. So, I don't really know if I should buy or not.
Hey man, I got mine and it looks awesome mine is in Red. This doesn't effect any functionality of the steering wheel neither heating nor any sensors. Came out perfect
