Oh my gosh I'm so excited to see your Porcelain sweater. Your yarn choice is incredible. I've been wanting to knit that sweater for so long. Love the mohair!
Love your haul, Morgan! I’m so excited to see what you create with these yarns. Since you’re living in Canberra now, I’d suggest saving your mohair for autumn and winter projects. The humidity there is similar to Adelaide and even though it’s not as high as other parts of the country, I personally can’t wear mohair when it’s over 22°C-even though I usually run cold and love layering up! Knitting with mohair during warmer months can also get a bit uncomfortable, so I’d definitely recommend reserving it for those cooler seasons when its coziness will really shine 😊
thank you for this insight!! 💛 I am so new to mohair and didn’t realize it was for added warmth tbh, I thought it made things feel fluffier 😅 will do more research & watch some videos on the topic!!
Bendigo has free colour shade cards that you can request on their site to get sent to you. They then send new ones to you once there is a new season or yarn type. Definitely helps with judging if the photo colour is accurate or not 😊
Look forward to seeing how you get on with the porcelain sweater. It's one of those projects I want to knit - but not quite feeling up to it just yet - so enjoy seeing everyone else knitting theirs! Love your colour choice. I also love to hear what you're reading - I have Divine Rivals lined up on my audible - but now wondering if I should rather read it than listen to it?
same I’m so intimidated by it! I love the reading experience of Divine Rivals because there are a lot of letters but the audiobook may narrate that well too, not sure!! highly recommend this series though, I’m on book 2 now 🥰
Happy Birthday! I want to gauge swatch and cast on the artichoke French hoodie by Laura Nelkin. I am also trying a mohair blend for the first time. We'll see how it goes. I'm very excited!❤🧶
Love the colours you picked for the Porcelain, so excited to see it come to life! Also, the Hibernal Socks will be stunning in that golden brown 😍 Well done on 5k subscribers, you truly deserve it ♥
I totally relate with switching up patterns you wanna make with the yarn that you buy 🙃 I’m so bad about that. I’ve been thinking lately I need to frog things I’m not 100% happy with wearing. That way I get yarn I can reuse instead of buying more all the time!
yes I try to be so intentional with what I spend my time knitting. I want to love my finished objects & for them to be a quality fiber that will hold up and serve me well for a long time!!
All the yarn is soooo gorgeous 🥰 I would go with the combo of Bellissimo Silver Lilac Mohair❤ I currently just casted on a baby romper and my next big cast on will be a sweater for myself 😊
thank you!! that’s so cool! my first finished knit garment was a baby sweater too! I hope you learned a lot with the baby size like I did so that you feel more confident for the adult size 🥰
I am looking forward to see your Porcelain sweater knit up. I’ve never considered knitting mohair with color work. I am intrigued. Good luck on your projects. 🧶😊
I've just finished knitting my fiancé a Christmas jumper (It still needs blocking and ends weaving in). I've just cast on my own one of the same pattern just slightly different colours (his is green and red and mine is a light grey and the same red). Also for the blouse you want to make I really like the grey and purple!
I just finished my porcelain sweater and honestly the colourwork is worked flat for the back yoke and the front section but it works up super well and fast imo! I already love it so much although I used the recommended yarn and for me it's really itchy
I’m glad you enjoyed knitting it but so worry to hear the yarn is itchy for you - mohair can be hit or miss from what I hear! everyones skin reacts differently to it and across different brands. one of my friends can’t use kid silk but she can use alpaca mohair!
Love the yarn you bought! The colours are so fantastic. I definitely agree with pairing the lavender mohair with the silver yarn (I may be biased though). The swatch looks so good! Is it humid where you are in the summer? I'm in Toronto and our summers can get absolutely scorching and sometimes humid. I am shriveling with the thought of wearing mohair in the summer unless in the AC. 😵💫 But it goes look cute though with the fluffiness. I'm planning on casting on the Oh My Hyacinth blouse (an all mohair project) after I complete the Salty Days Sweater. It'll be in this pastel rainbow mohair held with a silver/light grey. I am working on my dog's pastel rainbow sweater currently so we can match. Yes, we are extra. 😂
omg thats so cute you’re making a matching sweater for your dog!! good point - maybe my tee with mohair will be a nice layering piece in the cooler months then rather than summer knit haha!
@@morganunraveled Oh my gosh, I apparently don't know how RUclips comments work. 🤣 I think it would be an absolutely fabulous for the cooler months. I can totally see it as a transition piece and a core warming piece in the winters!
Beautiful yarn! I am working on the Storm Sweater by Petite Knit in a rusty/burnt orange color. Can't wait to see what you make with all of your yummy-looking yarn!
nice haul ! I'm definitely never using mohair for my spring/summer knits unless it's a mohair held alone like in the Rock It Tee by Tanis Lavallee (love this pattern for nice standalones skeins (2 only and will be almost used to the last meter)) ; I hate the feeling of sweating in my knits and even more if little hairs of mohair start to stick to me... It's really a personal preference though
hi there, i've watched a few of your podcasts and you've mentioned having pains while purling... since you continental knit, perhaps take a look at portuguese or norweigian purling? they seem to be methods that don't involve as much manipulation with your left hand as standard continental purling :) hope this helps!!
I am in awe of the accomplishments you have made. From the gangly little girl who did handstands against walls to the beautiful successful woman you are today. Now, with that being said, I need tips and tricks to knitting!!! 😂
I love watching your videos while knitting! I might suggest not using the Patagonia yarn for socks if you're going to wearing them often. It's a merino wool and merino is extremely soft. While that's great for garments, it means your socks will probably not wear well especially on the areas around your heel and toe. Merino is also prone to pilling. If you do choose to use it, maybe better as indoor only socks? Also I've heard people say they hold 100% wool with mohair for their socks to add structure and strength so maybe you can try that next time!
aw thank you for watching and for sharing your wisdom! I know sock yarns usually have some type of nylon to add durability but I got this worsted weight wool for the Sunday Socks by petiteknit (which is what they call for) - they are a thick ribbed house sock!
Im a crocheter and i recently stumbled upon your channel, unraveling with you has been so motivational that i have tried knitting and made a whole scarf💖 Do you have any tips or anything to help a newbie out? 😅
wow congrats on beginning your knitting journey!! 😍 I’m hoping to make a beginners guide video very soon!! definitely check out Nimble Needles channel for tutorials, and Handmade by Florence’s Step by Step sweater tutorial!
Loved your video! You might want to look up the connotations for the word demure. I know it’s the word of the moment with the online girlies, but purchasing yarn demurely isn’t technically incorrect, but truly not a great fit in the sentence. Good luck with all of your projects!!❤
When you said Australian heat is drier I was so confused until I realised you’re in Canberra. If you visit Queensland in Summer it can be very, very humid.
@@morganunraveled I lived in a drier climate for a few years and in my experience the sun is scorching but when you’re in the shade it’s much more tolerable. I spent much more time outside in the shade in summer when it was dry heat than I do in the humidity.
ooh that might be really pretty! that would make it a bit more of a worsted weight yarn so it may be quite heavy for a ranunculus tee yeah? definitely worth considering though since the pattern is quite versatile!
Hi Morgan! Really enjoyed my time with you. I love the lavender mohair with the lighter gray. So pretty! I’m still working on the Shifty 2.0. Next up, I’m going to make the Book Club Cardigan. You’ve convinced me to be brave about cables. ❤

I just ordered one, thank you!!
My first Ranunculus was a green, short sleeved one, and I get compliments on it every time I wear it!
omg yay! we’ll be twinsies!
me too and it was my second project ever only last month! :D

As someone from QLD, I had such a shock when I experienced my first Canberra summer. So dry and you could get away with a fan
I grew up in the american south with super humid summers so I’m curious what it will be like to have a dry heat?!

I order heaps off Bendigo..they normally send you out a colour chart with all there yarn they have x
I need to order one!!
I think if you mixed a light gray or a pale tan mohair with that “green apple” color it would mute it down for that top.
ooh that might be really pretty! that would make it a bit more of a worsted weight yarn so it may be quite heavy for a ranunculus tee yeah? definitely worth considering though since the pattern is quite versatile!

How can you stand that polyester touching your skin i hate those kind of hoodies....loved your video though❤
