Thanks! I really need to try KFO Cotton Merino. My favourite summer yarn is Tynn Line. I have only knit a swatch with it held single but several garments with it held double and I love it a lot more than Line.
I left that yarn out of this video since it's 80% SW Merino and I can't wear it in the summer! (Too hot). But for a spring/fall transitional yarn, I'd give it an A! Pleasant knitting experience and I like the drape it has. Feels lighter than 100% SWM.
I hand wash everything with rinse-free wool wash and lay flat to dry. My summer garments have to get washed frequently as they retain odors more easily, maybe after 4-5 wears. My winter garments only get washed about 1-2 times a season, same method!

Coboo was my intro to non-acylic yarn as a beginner crocheter (life changing) I made a whole dress and the splitting wasn't bad if I went slow. But frogging it definitely made it splitty-er. The yarn was lovely but I don't wear the dress often because the individual strands snag on EVERYTHING and it pulls up a thin loop out of the stitch. Even a hangnail is enough to snag it. Maybe it's indeed better as a knitting yarn
SUCH a great video. The way you've put together this collection of warm-weather yarns is so organized and informative in a really approachable way. I always wonder how things wear over time (because so often we just get the FO pics and the "I finished something honeymoon phase" review of a yarn/project but what I want to know is if the time to make a project and the yarn to invest in, I want to know if it's worth it in the process of the experience with the yarn and the after for wearing/washing/pilling/etc. (and that's subjective too but I want to know!). I have been using Coboo for a birch tree pattern scarf. I wasn't sure I would like this yarn at first, but it's really grown on me. It does split, but not badly. The fabric is really soft and has a nice drape.
Awesome video!! Love the rankings 😊 my favorites are tynn line and Mandarin Petit. It's a bit thicker than the tynn line and gives beautiful stitches. Really nice to knit with. I'm making a cumulus tee.
Will be referencing this the next time I purchase a summer yarn! So far I've knit with KFO Cotton Merino, swatched with KFO Pure Silk, and currently knitting with Katia Cotton Cashmere which knits up like butter!! Absolutely pleasant to work with.

My current favorites are the KFO Pure Silk, Sunday Fiber Co Fielding, and the Queensland Collection Coastal Cotton Fine. I've noticed that I really prefer fingering or sport weight yarn for summer knits, so I'm interested to try the Tynn Line from Sandes Garn. I'm also currently working with Noro Kakigori and Sonata, which are bases with summer fibers, but I'm not sure the slubiness of Noro will work for these garments. TBD!
Thank you for ranking these yarns. This video was very helpful, now i got a better view for all these yarns and what to choose for my next summer project. One of my favourite summer yarn is Sandness Garn Mandarin Petit. It's 100% cotton. It's so soft to knit with. You should test it.
We have two different conditions in summer where I live. Most of a time temperature is not higher than +23oC and it may rain. My favorite fiber is silk, bourette silk, because it feels great to wear. Another great yarn combination is a tee of mohair or similar yarn with linen. Short sleeves help if hotter and hairy yarn - if colder. Today it is raining as well and I'm wearing cotton with cashmere. It looks better than bourette silk but slightly not so good for hotter days. Sometimes we have about +30oC for a day or few. I found nothing better than linen for these days. Maybe linen with addition of cotton and viscose, it is easier to work and smoother fabric. I look forward to try cotton - merino of your recommendations.
Thank you, very interesting podcast..I've just bought the sandnes garn line and I'm having trouble finding the right sample for my pattern but I like knitting it. I think the problem is that I'm knitting it with chiagoo metal needles and I'll have to try with wooden needles. Did you knit it with wooden needles? Thank you!
I primarily knit with metal needles BUT recently I have found that wooden needles are more comfortable for me with summer fibers! Definitely give it a try.
I’m just starting to get into plant based fibers. I knit a Tolsta Tee out of Universal Yarns Bamboo Pop, which is basically a sport weight cousin of Lion Brand Coboo (maybe with one percent difference between the cotton/bamboo ratio.) I found it a tad splitty but nothing so frustrating I wouldn’t use it again, and I love the finished garment so much I ordered two more quantities. It is; however, very bright.
Lion brand came out with 24/7 DK and I love it. I have used it for crochet and knitting and it’s great. I also have used Valley Yarns, Granville that became my favorite last year and the Berroco Remix light.
I am currently knitting with Bamboo Fair from Premier. So far, I really like knitting with it. It's been easy on my hands and makes even fabric. It's a light DK weight. Others have said that they really enjoy wearing it and would use it again, and it comes in a wide range of colors. I'm knitting the Rivage tee in the color daffodil.
I absolutely hate knitting with pure cotton because it's not elastic at all and it's usually splitty. Adding merino can help, but another thing I love in a summer yarn is a chainette structure. Adds elasticity and helps it to not split so much. My favorite is Kestral (100% linen, aran weight from Quince & Co.) but Knit Picks actually makes a really nice fingering weight 70% linen/30% pima cotton called Lindy Chain.

I consider myself still a beginner (maybe a little more experienced of a beginner) knitter/crocheter as I just taught myself how to do both a year ago, but I always feel lost when it comes to different types of yarns. My latest discovery, witch I immediately fell in love with, is Antigone from De Rerum Natura - beautiful 100% linen in a sport weight.

I just bought the Coboo and can’t wait to cast it on, especially now that I saw that you have ranked it as a B. I have also purchased some Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino because I have seen so many posts about it for summer projects. However, I am a loose knitter and after I swatched with it on a 3 mm needle and washed my swatch I wasn’t too excited about the result, but I really don’t want to knit on a 2.75mm needle. I also didn’t enjoy knitting with it, it felt too “stiff” for me. I have knit with Tynn Line before and love it for summer garments. I have yet to try the Line and see if I’d rank as an S too!
This video is highly regarded! I wish i had it one year ago i was looking for yarn for my summer garments. Like you, I don’t enjoy fabric made of pure silk by Kfo. Because of that my blouse no1 didn’t get to much wear 😢 My favorite summer yarn is kfo cotton merino as well as Lana grossa Ecopuno
Hello! This video was SO helpful. I live in Texas and it's already been so hot and humid here, with the heat index getting up to 107 before we even got to June. I am currently knitting a tee with BC Garn Allino, a cotton and linen blend, and also plan on using some Sandness Garn Line/Tynne Line. I've also purchased some Hobbii Seashell yarn and some Hjertegarn New Arezzo, which seem like sport weight versions of Sandness Garn Line. I'm excited to try them out.
This video was amazing and so thorough! Have you dabbled at all with any of the luxury mill end yarns that can be bought from colourmart? There are some nice linen yarns from Loro Piana on colourmart for $20 for 733 yards but I don’t see a lot of reviews on working with those yarns
I’m currently knitting with Yarn and colors Baby Fabulous, which is worsted weight 45% cotton 55% acrylic. Extremely cheap and can throw it in the washing machine, but I also really like it. I’m doing Caidree’s Soho top in it and it looks great
I have to say I don't really understand how line could be an S tier yarn for summer yarn specifically, it's just so thick and you observed that as well

I am.crocheting with cooboo in argent. It drapes well and the colors are nice it is splitty. I am glad to find this video I would like to try some alternatives. Maybe it doesn't split as much knitting with it.
Excellent video! I love that even though you based your reviews on personal experience, you gave very objective ratings and pointed out key reasons why you sometimes marked down some yarns. As a fellow engineer I often feel frustrated with overly biased reviews but this one hit just the spot! I've worked with a few of the yarns you mentioned and have very similar opinions. Others, like the KFO Pure silk and Q&C Sparrow, I have in stash and you gave me some food for thought as to how I might use them. I came out most curious about working with SG Line and Tynn Line so I'll keep them in mind for future projects. Thanks all around!
Where was this video literally two hours ago when I placed an order for summer yarn? 😂 I ended up going with Seashell, which is a new line by Hobbi that's a sport weight cotton/viscose/linen blend, not exactly the same mix as Tynn Line but not far off. I definitely agree about Pure Silk. It feels so much like cotton, I feel like I could easily have spent less and gotten a similar result. I'm making a top with Coboo now and really enjoying it. I haven't found it to be very splity at all.

Just looked it up - what a cool fiber blend of cotton and alpaca! Do you find the alpaca prickly at all in the summer? Some of my winter knits with alpaca are prickly so I haven't been bold enough to try it in a summer top.
@@neknits Not at all! I have extremely sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me at all. The overall yarn leans more towards feeling more like a cotton fiber, but it's extremely soft and you get a little of that slippery alpaca texture. While the yarn has a fairly loose twist you don't get those pokey alpaca strands sticking out of the yarn - there's a slight halo but it's very minimal for an alpaca blend imo. I would not use this for a skintight garment (like a ribbed tank). For one, it would defeat the purpose of having that beautiful drape, but it also may cause some irritation on sensitive sweaty skin. Overall I highly recommend!

KFO Pure Silk held double is a great fabric but way too warm for summer. I'm in the NE too, and I knit the Kaarina Tee by Sari Nordlund and I can only wear it in the spring or autumn. But the pure silk held double doesn't "pill" like it does held single. I also knit the Moonset Tee by Ozetta and that definitely looks more worn than my Kaarina Tee and my Kaarina Tee is older. and has been worn way more. This year I've knit 2 tops with Bamboo Pop by Universal Yarns and its a 50/50 Cotton Bamboo and I absolutely love it. Its DK but very breathable, and its been holding up very well. My only issue was trying to get gauge but that's a me thing. I'm also knitting with a lot of 100% cotton and excited to see how that goes. I knit the Eva Cardigan by Petite Knit using 100% cotton and I wear it everyday. I'm also knitting the Poppy Tee with 100% cotton and excited to see how that holds up! I'm using Queensland Collection Light for the Poppy Tee and used King Cole DK for the Eva Cardigan. I've also used Cotton/Linen blends and they are durable and breathable; and I've made one top with 100% linen but haven't worn much due to the pattern. Its an amazingly breathable and light fabric, I'd love to make another top with 100% linen but that actually hurts my hands. None of the other summer fibers hurt my hands. I started my summer knits back in January so they'd be ready for when the summer weather arrived. I tend to switch to my winter knits in July because by then, I'm ready for winter again 😂.
Excellent review! Especially as summer yarns can be so tricky to get right. I did not enjoy the KFO pure silk, but had a pretty good experience with the cotton merino. My favourite summer yarn I’ve used so far is Noro Kakigori. Lovely to work with and lovely to wear. I’d like to try de Rerum Natura Antigone as I’ve heard good things…this is a 100% linen yarn.

And finally someone who shares my opinion of the Pure Silk being kind of ... meh. I've knitted it double stranded but I have the same issue of it looking worn and pilly and somewhat sad. This was very helpful. You do such a good job of explaining! I live in a warmer part of the world and don't have much use for anything warmer than autumn weight knits. So while I can get some use out of a wool sweater or two, the majority of the year I would prefer to be wearing warmer weather knits. I recently used Patons Linen (DK weight, 65% cotton, 35% linen) to make a 3/4 sleeve summer cardigan, and I found it nice to work with other than how much it shed on me. It was just *everywhere* until I took a lint roller to the cardigan. But I found the finished garment drapey and cool and wearable even on 80 degree days. But I don't think it would be wearable on 90 degree days, so I'm looking for something maybe fingering weight or with a higher bamboo or linen content. I really liked how cool to the touch truboo was, so I'm going to attempt to knit a shirt out of that despite how much it grows. I'm hoping that by accounting for that in my choice of size and construction, it will be wearable for me.
I’ve only knitted with Truboo, which I love, and a Pima cotton from Craftsy but was thinking of Knitting for Olive or the Sandnes yarns, but will try the Coboo first because of cost.
Ne, this was super helpful but, next time, can you specifically address the care of these yarns? Particularly the spring/summer yarns. Can you throw them into the machine to wash and dry? Just machine wash and block? That would really help.
I feel like this review is really useful for anyone with a similar yarn composition, but different brand. I had similar experiences with pure cotton and the linen blend, but I used Drops yarns. Anyhow, really nice review, thanks for sharing!
Candide from Derurem Natrura is cotton/wool lighter sport weight yarn. Maybe a bit warm for high summer in many places though where I live in the PNW of US it is good - also would be good for transitional weather.
You should try the Eddie Bauer cotton yarn they sell at Joanns, it is my fave! The color selection is not the best but I have been having fun dying knitted garments so I buy the white. It is more of a sport weight and knits up well with 3mm needles. I typically knit a smaller size in a fingering weight garment to achieve the right size.

I have made 2 summer shawls with coboo and love the feel of the finished product. I call the weight and feel a female armor. It has weight but is cool. Curious if you'd be interested in Knit Picks Lindy Chain, as I've heard great things about it (it's a 70/30 linen/cotton fingering weight chainette yarn).

I think it would work well for a summer sweater! Just keep in mind that it's stretches a bit, and with longer sleeves/longer lengths it has potential to stretch more than with shorter sleeves/tanks!
Great breakdown list - thanks for going into all this detail. I do have to ask why after all the love you showed it, Coboo didn't rank higher on your list? I didn't notice any downsides pointed out other than slight colour limitation, but it still only came in as a 'B'. Sometimes it feels like only the "fancy" brands get love, and some of the more affordable and accessible yarns are penalized for those reasons rather than appreciated? Again, thanks for all the great content.
I think B is still a good rating! The yarns I ranked higher I would still choose to use over Coboo if given the choice. I really have a hard time finding good Coboo colors which prevents me from choosing it for more projects!
I would try out individual fixed circulars from different brands to see what you like! Once you find a type you love, then go for that set. Lykke, Knitters Pride, Chiagoo are some well-known popular brands. I use a metal Chiagoo set but didn't invest in it until I was sure I liked the needles! Knit Picks has smaller starter sets, and even "try it" sets that might interest you as well!

Thank you for ranking these yarns. This video was very helpful, now i got a better view for all these yarns and what to choose for my next summer project. One of my favourite summer yarn is Sandness Garn Mandarin Petit. It's 100% cotton. It's so soft to knit with. You should test it.
We have two different conditions in summer where I live. Most of a time temperature is not higher than +23oC and it may rain. My favorite fiber is silk, bourette silk, because it feels great to wear. Another great yarn combination is a tee of mohair or similar yarn with linen. Short sleeves help if hotter and hairy yarn - if colder. Today it is raining as well and I'm wearing cotton with cashmere. It looks better than bourette silk but slightly not so good for hotter days. Sometimes we have about +30oC for a day or few. I found nothing better than linen for these days. Maybe linen with addition of cotton and viscose, it is easier to work and smoother fabric. I look forward to try cotton - merino of your recommendations.
Thank you, very interesting podcast..I've just bought the sandnes garn line and I'm having trouble finding the right sample for my pattern but I like knitting it. I think the problem is that I'm knitting it with chiagoo metal needles and I'll have to try with wooden needles. Did you knit it with wooden needles? Thank you!
I primarily knit with metal needles BUT recently I have found that wooden needles are more comfortable for me with summer fibers! Definitely give it a try.
I’m just starting to get into plant based fibers. I knit a Tolsta Tee out of Universal Yarns Bamboo Pop, which is basically a sport weight cousin of Lion Brand Coboo (maybe with one percent difference between the cotton/bamboo ratio.) I found it a tad splitty but nothing so frustrating I wouldn’t use it again, and I love the finished garment so much I ordered two more quantities.
It is; however, very bright.
Lion brand came out with 24/7 DK and I love it. I have used it for crochet and knitting and it’s great. I also have used Valley Yarns, Granville that became my favorite last year and the Berroco Remix light.
I am currently knitting with Bamboo Fair from Premier. So far, I really like knitting with it. It's been easy on my hands and makes even fabric. It's a light DK weight. Others have said that they really enjoy wearing it and would use it again, and it comes in a wide range of colors. I'm knitting the Rivage tee in the color daffodil.
I absolutely hate knitting with pure cotton because it's not elastic at all and it's usually splitty. Adding merino can help, but another thing I love in a summer yarn is a chainette structure. Adds elasticity and helps it to not split so much. My favorite is Kestral (100% linen, aran weight from Quince & Co.) but Knit Picks actually makes a really nice fingering weight 70% linen/30% pima cotton called Lindy Chain.
Such a helpful video! I consider myself still a beginner (maybe a little more experienced of a beginner) knitter/crocheter as I just taught myself how to do both a year ago, but I always feel lost when it comes to different types of yarns. Also LOVE that you share where you got each pattern because all of those tops are so gorgeous. Loved this video, and you have a new subscriber :)
Just finished the Streamline Tank in BC Garn Allino Yarn which is a cotton/linen blend. It was nice enough to work with and the fabric is very cool.

My latest discovery, witch I immediately fell in love with, is Antigone from De Rerum Natura - beautiful 100% linen in a sport weight.

I just bought the Coboo and can’t wait to cast it on, especially now that I saw that you have ranked it as a B. I have also purchased some Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino because I have seen so many posts about it for summer projects. However, I am a loose knitter and after I swatched with it on a 3 mm needle and washed my swatch I wasn’t too excited about the result, but I really don’t want to knit on a 2.75mm needle. I also didn’t enjoy knitting with it, it felt too “stiff” for me. I have knit with Tynn Line before and love it for summer garments. I have yet to try the Line and see if I’d rank as an S too!
This video is highly regarded! I wish i had it one year ago i was looking for yarn for my summer garments. Like you, I don’t enjoy fabric made of pure silk by Kfo. Because of that my blouse no1 didn’t get to much wear 😢 My favorite summer yarn is kfo cotton merino as well as Lana grossa Ecopuno
Hello! This video was SO helpful. I live in Texas and it's already been so hot and humid here, with the heat index getting up to 107 before we even got to June. I am currently knitting a tee with BC Garn Allino, a cotton and linen blend, and also plan on using some Sandness Garn Line/Tynne Line. I've also purchased some Hobbii Seashell yarn and some Hjertegarn New Arezzo, which seem like sport weight versions of Sandness Garn Line. I'm excited to try them out.
This video was amazing and so thorough! Have you dabbled at all with any of the luxury mill end yarns that can be bought from colourmart? There are some nice linen yarns from Loro Piana on colourmart for $20 for 733 yards but I don’t see a lot of reviews on working with those yarns
I’m currently knitting with Yarn and colors Baby Fabulous, which is worsted weight 45% cotton 55% acrylic. Extremely cheap and can throw it in the washing machine, but I also really like it. I’m doing Caidree’s Soho top in it and it looks great
I have to say I don't really understand how line could be an S tier yarn for summer yarn specifically, it's just so thick and you observed that as well

Excellent video! I love that even though you based your reviews on personal experience, you gave very objective ratings and pointed out key reasons why you sometimes marked down some yarns. As a fellow engineer I often feel frustrated with overly biased reviews but this one hit just the spot! I've worked with a few of the yarns you mentioned and have very similar opinions. Others, like the KFO Pure silk and Q&C Sparrow, I have in stash and you gave me some food for thought as to how I might use them. I came out most curious about working with SG Line and Tynn Line so I'll keep them in mind for future projects. Thanks all around!

Where was this video literally two hours ago when I placed an order for summer yarn? 😂 I ended up going with Seashell, which is a new line by Hobbi that's a sport weight cotton/viscose/linen blend, not exactly the same mix as Tynn Line but not far off. I definitely agree about Pure Silk. It feels so much like cotton, I feel like I could easily have spent less and gotten a similar result. I'm making a top with Coboo now and really enjoying it. I haven't found it to be very splity at all.
I have an interest in trying the Hobbi Seashell as well! I agree it seems similar to Tynn Line, I hope you like it!

I'm looking for a specific Lilac color in a cotton blend yarn for a retail cardigan that I saw on Pinterest and it's painful 🤦🏾♀️ I can't find that anywhere 😐 unbelievable.
I've only found it in Lana Grossa Promessa... which doesn't deliver to Canada 😢

I have knit with Drops Paris before and the quality of that cotton is not great 😅 It looks worn before I have even wore the garment 😅 Also their lilac is more purple than light lilac ( that's on me for trying to copy a retail cardigan in it's exact shade of light lilac 😅)

Just looked it up - what a cool fiber blend of cotton and alpaca! Do you find the alpaca prickly at all in the summer? Some of my winter knits with alpaca are prickly so I haven't been bold enough to try it in a summer top.
@@neknits Not at all! I have extremely sensitive skin and it doesn't bother me at all. The overall yarn leans more towards feeling more like a cotton fiber, but it's extremely soft and you get a little of that slippery alpaca texture. While the yarn has a fairly loose twist you don't get those pokey alpaca strands sticking out of the yarn - there's a slight halo but it's very minimal for an alpaca blend imo. I would not use this for a skintight garment (like a ribbed tank). For one, it would defeat the purpose of having that beautiful drape, but it also may cause some irritation on sensitive sweaty skin. Overall I highly recommend!

KFO Pure Silk held double is a great fabric but way too warm for summer. I'm in the NE too, and I knit the Kaarina Tee by Sari Nordlund and I can only wear it in the spring or autumn. But the pure silk held double doesn't "pill" like it does held single. I also knit the Moonset Tee by Ozetta and that definitely looks more worn than my Kaarina Tee and my Kaarina Tee is older. and has been worn way more.
This year I've knit 2 tops with Bamboo Pop by Universal Yarns and its a 50/50 Cotton Bamboo and I absolutely love it. Its DK but very breathable, and its been holding up very well. My only issue was trying to get gauge but that's a me thing.
I'm also knitting with a lot of 100% cotton and excited to see how that goes. I knit the Eva Cardigan by Petite Knit using 100% cotton and I wear it everyday. I'm also knitting the Poppy Tee with 100% cotton and excited to see how that holds up! I'm using Queensland Collection Light for the Poppy Tee and used King Cole DK for the Eva Cardigan.
I've also used Cotton/Linen blends and they are durable and breathable; and I've made one top with 100% linen but haven't worn much due to the pattern. Its an amazingly breathable and light fabric, I'd love to make another top with 100% linen but that actually hurts my hands. None of the other summer fibers hurt my hands.
I started my summer knits back in January so they'd be ready for when the summer weather arrived. I tend to switch to my winter knits in July because by then, I'm ready for winter again 😂.
Excellent review! Especially as summer yarns can be so tricky to get right. I did not enjoy the KFO pure silk, but had a pretty good experience with the cotton merino. My favourite summer yarn I’ve used so far is Noro Kakigori. Lovely to work with and lovely to wear. I’d like to try de Rerum Natura Antigone as I’ve heard good things…this is a 100% linen yarn.

And finally someone who shares my opinion of the Pure Silk being kind of ... meh. I've knitted it double stranded but I have the same issue of it looking worn and pilly and somewhat sad. And for that it's just too expensive imo.

I live in a warmer part of the world and don't have much use for anything warmer than autumn weight knits. So while I can get some use out of a wool sweater or two, the majority of the year I would prefer to be wearing warmer weather knits.
I recently used Patons Linen (DK weight, 65% cotton, 35% linen) to make a 3/4 sleeve summer cardigan, and I found it nice to work with other than how much it shed on me. It was just *everywhere* until I took a lint roller to the cardigan. But I found the finished garment drapey and cool and wearable even on 80 degree days. But I don't think it would be wearable on 90 degree days, so I'm looking for something maybe fingering weight or with a higher bamboo or linen content. I really liked how cool to the touch truboo was, so I'm going to attempt to knit a shirt out of that despite how much it grows. I'm hoping that by accounting for that in my choice of size and construction, it will be wearable for me.
I’ve only knitted with Truboo, which I love, and a Pima cotton from Craftsy but was thinking of Knitting for Olive or the Sandnes yarns, but will try the Coboo first because of cost.
Ne, this was super helpful but, next time, can you specifically address the care of these yarns? Particularly the spring/summer yarns. Can you throw them into the machine to wash and dry? Just machine wash and block? That would really help.

I feel like this review is really useful for anyone with a similar yarn composition, but different brand. I had similar experiences with pure cotton and the linen blend, but I used Drops yarns. Anyhow, really nice review, thanks for sharing!
Candide from Derurem Natrura is cotton/wool lighter sport weight yarn. Maybe a bit warm for high summer in many places though where I live in the PNW of US it is good - also would be good for transitional weather.
You should try the Eddie Bauer cotton yarn they sell at Joanns, it is my fave! The color selection is not the best but I have been having fun dying knitted garments so I buy the white. It is more of a sport weight and knits up well with 3mm needles. I typically knit a smaller size in a fingering weight garment to achieve the right size.

In terms of other summer yarns, I quite like Schachenmayr Cotton Bambulino, which has a very similar fibre content to the Line line, but is cheaper and easier to come by where I live.

I have made 2 summer shawls with coboo and love the feel of the finished product. I call the weight and feel a female armor. It has weight but is cool. Loved your review as I have struggled to make a summer top and have not been successful yet. I will keep working at it and your review has helped immensely!

I think it would work well for a summer sweater! Just keep in mind that it's stretches a bit, and with longer sleeves/longer lengths it has potential to stretch more than with shorter sleeves/tanks!

Great breakdown list - thanks for going into all this detail. I do have to ask why after all the love you showed it, Coboo didn't rank higher on your list? I didn't notice any downsides pointed out other than slight colour limitation, but it still only came in as a 'B'. Sometimes it feels like only the "fancy" brands get love, and some of the more affordable and accessible yarns are penalized for those reasons rather than appreciated? Again, thanks for all the great content.
I think B is still a good rating! The yarns I ranked higher I would still choose to use over Coboo if given the choice. I really have a hard time finding good Coboo colors which prevents me from choosing it for more projects!

I would try out individual fixed circulars from different brands to see what you like! Once you find a type you love, then go for that set. Lykke, Knitters Pride, Chiagoo are some well-known popular brands. I use a metal Chiagoo set but didn't invest in it until I was sure I liked the needles! Knit Picks has smaller starter sets, and even "try it" sets that might interest you as well!
