They're a fine group of gentlemen indeed; this interview felt more like a conversation of old friends while being just as informative as it was entertaining.
Man I had a very similar red explorer that I bought because of Claudio. It was an 09' 76' reissue. My first "nice" guitar. 2009 was a special year for me and that guitar absolutely ripped. Among the dozen or so guitars I've had in my life, I think that's the one I regret parting with the most. Claudio was actually the one who inspired me to pick up guitar. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was 2010, year of the black rainbow had just dropped. Coheed was playing a free show at the New York state fair. Drove there 5 hours one way, 5 people deep in my tiny Hyundai, stood right at the gate. Watching Claudio play and sing made me go "shit, I should really learn how to do that." Was an amazing set. My brother and I bought shirts, a copy of the new album, and he bought the art book and novel bundle. Honestly a great memory. That was the second time I had ever gotten to see them play live. Anyways, great seeing a rig rundown from a long time favorite band! Hope I can catch em on this tour. Also first.
It's really cool to hear about other people being inspired to pick up the guitar because of him. I saw Claudio play an acoustic set in Lancaster PA in 2007, found out about the show completely out of the blue and went with some high school friends. I left the show thinking "wow, I want to do that" and pulled out this really crappy beginner acoustic guitar I had buried in my closet and started to figure out how to read tabs and went from there.
Like Travis ever hits a sour note 😅 he's never missed a note live in his life while playing live these guys don't miss its absolutely incredible to watch
I just saw Coheed for the first time in Portland, ME on Tuesday and they played Sentry the Defiant and it was heavy AF. Glad that one made the rotation again. Waited over 20 years for them to come up here and they did not disappoint.
Anytime i hear Coheed i want to learn the guitar but always feel intimidated. I tend to have a perfectionist attitude sometimes but the way Travis spoke, down to earth, not having to know every specific thing about guitars, and showing how he messes up live sometimes, is making me realize I don't have to be perfect at it.
Heeeeey, learning a musical instrument is one of the best things you can do for your mind. Don’t think, just do. Buy a guitar and start learning. There’s so much free content on RUclips for beginners. Never know til you try! Remember to just be patient with yourself! Best of luck 🖤
There's no such thing as perfect when it comes to music. Remember that. It's like painting or drawing, it's up to the artist that want to express something. The paints and brushes are just tools. Just pick one up and you may find your own way to play different than everyone else. All rock music comes from the world of the "wrong" way to play.
A great thing to keep in mind, is 90%+ of anyone who ever hears you play, will know nothing about music If you're getting things mostly correct, no one will bat an eye. Even if you do kinda mess up, just keep going! People will forget a mistake a lot more quickly than you realize For learning, Coheed has a great variety of difficulty in their music. So you could learn the rhythm parts to The Suffering, or A Favor House Atlantic relatively easily, and then later on you could work on stuff like No World For Tomorrow that gets kinda crazy
No just get a decent guitar where you feel happy with it in your hand. You can't just get any guitar. Go out and see how they feel. But definitely do it.. I'm learning Secrets of silent earth 3 right now and I love it. Good song to learn..
These are amazing. So happy you all do these. Give Coheed fan and this is a super sized episode!!! They continually inspire my playing. Thanks to all involved
How is this amazing? It's identical to pretty much every rig rundown they do now. "Here's my guitar, and it's just running through an AxeFX. That's my rig."
@@officialmetalwill it’s enjoyment for any fan of the band or gear. They may have new guitars, pedals or amps. Ok, they’re using fx for the ease of travel but anyone who genuinely enjoys gear, music and the discussion of it? C’mon!…
These Rig Rundowns are one of my favorite things to watch. I like watching them just as much as my favorite movies or TV shows. Keep up the great work doing these Premier Guitar and please don't stop making them! And like you've done for Coheed above, don't hesitate to revisit bands you haven't done in many years. Always cool to see what's changed and what's stayed the same. And rock on forever Coheed and Cambria! Blood Red Summer is one of my favorite rock songs of all time. Never will forget that song playing all the time everywhere when it came out. And the music video was on TV all the time as well.
second stage turbine is still one of my all time favorite albums, the first like 5 songs in a row just flow so well, that instrumental intro, their tone is always top notch over all these albums and progressing their sound
@@boarderking133Aw come on man, their new stuff isn't bad It's a lot different than the old stuff, but it's still really good The Afterman albums in particular are phenomenal.
Just got my Anna in the Mail earlier this week. Wild to see them talking about building it here. It's so good, way better than I could have imagined. Keep up the Good work Claudio!!
My wife, friends and I just saw them down in Philly a few weeks ago, great set, just wish they played more songs in general! With such a massive catalog of amazing songs over the last 20 years, I can understand they can’t do it all! Last time I saw them was during the first album tour, at a place called the HomeBass in PA… about 200 people at that run down punk warehouse show…. big difference now, quite a few thousand! We were singing up in the nosebleeds full force, well sauced lol. Thank you Claudio and company for putting on a great show, even after all these years. The new record is fantastic as well, love the sound! (Wish they had played Devil in Jersey City, but they r prob sick of it!)
By far the most in depth PG rig rundown I’ve seen so far and I’ve been watching for years. Props to the interviewer, you were on the same wavelength as the guys the whole time. Some really cool equipment here. I’m 100% willing to risk homelessness right now. *grabs credit card*
I love this so much. I've always been interested in seeing all of the equipment that Coheed uses, but this gave more. I learned a lot about what type of sounds these guys use and WHY. I can apply this to my own equipment.
I love how the guy does the entire interview with his back to the guy from premiere guitar. It hit it's like it looks off and it's guitar case the entire time.
“This guitar is special” - Instantly flashback to young Claudio machine gunning with the white SG. just today I was pondering muffs and was thinking the NYC might be the one for me, and of course thought Wren and Cuff immediately afterwards … come home to see this proto - it’s a sign. Time to start saving :)
Always love to see what C&C's running with and to have Zach's gear as well! I was hoping Claudio would call his guitars pieces of shit again like he did in the TG vid. Whoever his BKP person is must be proud he knew the pups he has this time xD.
That's wild, they are from Nyack BY. I'm from there. I used to hang out in Nyack rock clubs back in the day. How did I never head about these guys when I was living there? What a unique band
I'm a little suprised Claudio didn't bring his "Gangsta" on the road for this video, maybe it's becoming more of a at home guitar but I just love that explorer with his dad's face on it, I just think that's so sick.

Such a great band! Having first seen them live only a few years ago, they're now the band I've seen more times than any other. Weird how that happens with this band. Great video! It's fun to see all of the same guitars that you've stared up at from the barricade. I don't know, feels like you know them. I'm dumb. Don't listen to me.
My favorite pickup for Les Paul is also the 57 Classic. No wonder I love Travis's tone, we have the same LP pickups (have a 2016 LP Traditional Honey Burst).
I find it funny how many musicians use the cheap ERNIE BALL guitar straps! *Do the black Les Paul CUSTOM guitars usually have the white poker chip around the toggle?

Claudio really needs a signature Explorer guitar. Someone at Gibson, make it happen.
If it's a reproduction E2, I'd shit my pants and then immediately buy one.
If only Gibson cared enough
Yeah from what I’ve heard Gibson doesn’t give a rats ass about their artists, even going so far as to “lose” the templates for certain signatures
Same with Travis, he needs a signature guitar too
he did have one for some time but it was only limited, I play my E2 for basically all coheed stuff apart from welcome home I use my gibson double neak
God over an hour of Coheed rig is just a FANTASTIC way to start the day
hell yeah
Absolutely my friend 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Now THIS is a rig rundown. Always love when they do the bassists rigs
Just frickin' love how excited Travis is. Like a child talking about his pokemon collection.
Can't blame him. He's an old-fashioned kind of guy when it comes to guitars.
Travis' favorite band is his band, and you can tell
Three of the sweetest, most seemingly grounded dudes in music. Great rundown.
And Josh is such a boss behind a kit too.
They're a fine group of gentlemen indeed; this interview felt more like a conversation of old friends while being just as informative as it was entertaining.
This was the best rig rundown I've seen. Fantastic work. Coheed are an amazingly humble band.

Easily one of the best rundowns
Coheed is the best! I've been to well over 30 shows and they just keep getting better. There is NO better live band.
Saw these guys a few weeks back in philly and they sounded great. Its cool to see how down to earth they are. They are the best.

Thank you for including Zach! He's so cool and i feel like we rarely see him.
I'm so glad they were able to get Zach in on this! I wouldn't been so upset if we didn't get to check out his rig.
Saw them in Charlotte and they were incredible! I was wondering when a new rig rundown was coming out - this is awesome!!!

Gibson has got to make a signature E2 for him.
Can we start a petition?
Coheed is one of the most underrated bands on their scene. Phenomenal band to see live 🤘
You can really feel Travis' love for his craft here.
Very passionate
Loved hearing about Zach’s stuff
The greatest group of dudes! Josh, Zach, Trav & Claud
Josh is one of the greatest drummers ever
Never listened to this band before seeing this video. Started w The Second Stage Turbine Blade. Pretty dam cool
Travis and Jade Puget are the reason I got a les paul as my first guitar. I still suck but at least I suck with a les paul. 🤣
Loved the rig rundown on their afterman tour. So glad to see this new one from their vaxis tour!
Travis’s tone is incredible holy shit! That reverb and delay 😱

Awesome! Love me some Coheed and Cambria! These guys put on a FANTASTIC show! Thanks Premier Guitar- Brent, VT
Picked up guitar at 30 because of these guys!

Was cool catching up on their gear, but Travis is such a G lol, super forth-right and straight forward. Shouts to NY State.
I love how the guy does the entire interview with his back to the guy from premiere guitar. It hit it's like it looks off and it's guitar case the entire time.
Just saw them live in Chicago. As always they were perfect.

Why do these guys still not have Gibson signature guitars. They would be the best ambassadors.
Anyone a fan of elixirs? Both acoustic and electric. Great tone for longer than any set of strings has a right to.
I saw these guys open up for a Hot Water Music and Thrice in 2002. They were fucking incredible. Everyone was shook afterwards.
i guarantee you in some parallel universe travis is a stand-up comedian
This is the most fun and awesome #RigRundown I've ever seen.
Thier stories are gold. 🤟
Since they’re on the same tour. It would be cool if you did a rig rundown from Alkaline Trio too…just sayin’ 😉
They passed...we tried - just sayin' 😉
Those are some slick Dean guitars in the thumbnail! ;)
Agreed! Didn’t Gibson copy some of their designs or something?
If gibson don't do a Claudio signature explorer they need to rethink some things...
Gonna be a good one, thanks PG!
Hope you like it!

I didnt understand how comfortable an Explorer is to play until I bought one, for real on of the comfiest guitars standing up or no my lap
Those explorers are heavenly!
My favorite band of the last 20 years ❤
This video is cannon to The Amory Wars
That's wild, they are from Nyack BY. I'm from there. I used to hang out in Nyack rock clubs back in the day. How did I never head about these guys when I was living there? What a unique band
Good to hear somebody sweat Jeph from The Used. Incredible and underrated bassist.
Listening to Claudio talk versus singing is wild
Yo this is so rad! He was really down to get nitty gritty which is awesome.
So different than their music. Great interview. Likable guys.

Ayy its that band cornbread and cambodia
It's weird seeing them with Ernie Ball after seeing them use DR's for years. Not complaining, I also use EB lol
No one should ever feel bad to own something just because it looks cool.
Travis seems totally like a kid who would leave the guitar out in the rain hahaha ADHD for sure. Man his energy is infectious.
This was an excellent interview.

I love the honey burst finish. ❤️
That first explorer he has is what are me want one of these!
I bought my les paul because of coheed. best our of my life
I heard my checking account scream when they announced Claudio's signature pedal is coming. ;)
Travis and Claudio love Gibson. And Cooper loves Spector. My kinda guys
That background beeping is really annoying, but it’s worth it to watch this video.
Love that custom V

I find it funny how many musicians use the cheap ERNIE BALL guitar straps! *Do the black Les Paul CUSTOM guitars usually have the white poker chip around the toggle?
I would sell my soul to be Claudio or Travis' guitar tech. Travis and Claudio, if either of you ever are in need of a new tech, please look me up!!!
Shoutin out those Nyack roots! Respect
I'm so excited for this guitar pedal ! I've just finished learning second stage turbine blade album front to back I would love to get that tone

Finally a rundown of an actual band that people actually listen to. Imagine that!
Claudio all casual ~ "yeah I stole that fuzz pedal"
FBI ~ "OPEN UP"
I’m guessing Tavis has his truss rod covers off for quick adjustments but I don’t dislike the look either. Cool video
that black LP is to die for.
You need to do a rig rundown with The Hellacopters!
I wish on the explorer custom they would put binding on the headstock like all the other customs
Travis is such a trip!
Well hell yeah!
Coheed is touring with Alkaline Trio, hope we get trio rundown
Good job asking about modeling specifics Jason
"It's not a sticker!" *Arnold Voice* 😆
Dude's makin my anxiety PEAK!! 😁
Ugh, now I gotta buy that pedal when it comes out. Actually, I'm kind of surprised they don't have more signature gear.
