@@crospotter13 I'll make sure to check it out. there's been a lot of criticism of the mark 8 compared to the mark 7, i was kinda the same as a long term Golf driver but i haven't even sat in one yet. it's defiantly growing on me though.
@@ThePatrik79 I think the reason behind it is that there are big changes on this one (front is all new and interior design also) and customers of Golf are used to smaller changes. But I think this is the big step up. There are some of the things that I would change/add (will mention them in review) but overall big step up I think. Review is done and is uploading will be live by around 2-3pm CEST today so stay tuned :)
I ordered it (1,5 eTSI with DSG gearbox, almost full options), coming in January and your videos (here and the other one in daylight) were two of the many videos I watched which helped me to make my choice. Thanks :)

So weird to read these comments outside of Germany lol. I bought a Golf 8 Style and in germany the comments section of people who cant deal with the fact that the Golf 8 is so digital.

crospotter13 I bought the The Style 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG Version, it’s so much fun, the software could really have been better thou, but they can patch that i guess. :)
I agree, I got 1.5 eTSI First Edition 3 weeks ago and I love it.. No problems with digitality either :-)

If you hold the right hand paddle briefly, it goes from manual to full auto. The navigation can be set to auto night mode
cool to know about the right hand paddle :) Speaking of the NAVI, I only saw nigh/day and no auto like on Audi A3 where you have 3 options. So I suposse it's automatic anyway or?

Wish they still sold the TDI in the USA ... after having the TSI and the TDI I can by far say the TDI was wayyyyy better. The TSI would idle weird sometimes and was a gas guzzler, the premium gas it required killed my wallet . Nothing beats the mpg on my TDI :) 140000 and still going very strong 💪🏻

@@crospotter13 thanks very much ! The cupra was looking to be too expensive for the current world situation 😭 lol I ordered it in the white with the upgraded 18" alloys. I like white cars and looks really good with the black trims of the r line.. once it arrives I could send you some photos

Does anyone know if this is standard across the golf 8 range? Just bought a 1.0 litre life trim
1.5 etsi or 2.0 TDI 150 which one is better to drive or which one do you prefer.and why, I do About 8000 to 10.000 miles a year good video.
For your mileage I would choose the 1.5eTSI, as it’s cheaper in start and for your mileage it’s reasonable choice. Can’t say about consumption of this eTSI engine on Golf as I didn’t drive it on Golf, but this diesel is really good in terms of consumption - around 5 liters, 6 in the city...so will be your choice but starting price is better with 1.5 eTSI and also mild-hybrid is now efficient , more efficient than regular 1.5 TSI. My choice would be eTSI

Does the HVAC Touch Bar under the center screen light up during the night? I’m not talking about the touch screen, the bar below it.
You mean the slider? I think not as it has infrareed sensors inside

Is that interior fiddly when you’re driving I like it but I think the temperature adjuster and volume controls would drive me insane.

thanks :) Speaking of the Porsche Croatia stickers, car belongs to Porsche Croatia d.o.o., the general dealer for the Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT and ŠKODA brands here in Croatia, and operates as part of the largest European automotive concern, Porsche Holding of Salzburg. That's why their press cars have those stickers :)
Speaking about the app you mean Apple Car Play and pairing it? Unfortunately didn't film that but I did film another POV of pure driving with engine sound, demonstration of Matrix LED lights, FULL in depth review with over 30 mins of all details so lot of Golf 8 content coming in the next few days :)

Pozdrav, stvar je sto mi je kod snimanja POV-a GoPro u razini nosa i usta pa se sve cuje😂
Ako bi uzeo eksternu mikrofon bubu slabije bi se cuo motor i ugodaj u voznji, kao i zatvaranje vrata pa ovo smatram boljim rjesenjem 😃
Just so you know, blue color lights are the most harmful and stressful to the eyes.
That's why the newer computer monitors and TVs have low-bluelight setting.
We’ll that’s why it’s got lot of options, but for me blue looks calm so I always put it to that color in cars 😀

The display only becomes dangerous if the user is being dangerous with it.
Not a fan of the Golf MK8... seems cheap.. The Golf 7 is so muh better looking.
