I have 3 Magic Effect firing systems. Two of my systems are older, and one is new. For the remote on the older systems, up is on and down is off. On the new system, it's the opposite. I think the switches were soldered upside down on the new remotes. I had to label the on/of switches on my remotes, so I know that I have each switch in the correct position for firing.
I don't really care which way the switch goes, but I do wish they'd at least mark the on/off for it. Even better would be to move that switch to the front of the remote and mark the on/off for it clearly on the label. Heck, even a little power LED would be nice just so you know when the remote is on. Now that you have that system, you can do quite a bit with it.
Wow flash back to me man...My old boss & best friend when I worked in IT use to say that to me all the time haha thanks....and thats a NICE system for the money bro!!!
Thanks, yeah the K-I-S-S term i learned a while back working in QC for a company and it just took, there is another term for remembering wiring and the colors, something to do with all good boys or something like that, maybe someone will know what im talking about
So am i bro! Thanks for watching, im glad it was something this simple, i knew all my modules AND the remote couldn't all be defective. In the end..... it was the damn on / off switch on the remote
hahahahaha, I had this EXACT same issue.. just got the unit yesterday and bought a bunch of batteries thinking it was my battery (which to be honest, is quite low).. now i get to play with it... thank you for the video!
Mine was perfectly fine coming out of the case. I hooked up an ignition that came with it and it popped like a firecracker and ignited. I then tested a talon and it didn’t spark or anything. But when I looked at it, it looked white and ashy. Then I smelled it and it smelled burnt. I put a piece of fuse in another talon and it worked fine. Weird that yours was wired backwards, I got a green sharpie and put a dot on the remote to the top side and a red sharpie on the other side to indicate it was the wrong side. System and igniters work fine for me.
Sweet! Good idea, i am gonna do the same thing, get a fine point sharpie and write " ON " on the remote where the real on position is ! Thanks for viewing .
@@stevebennion8601 so stay with the E- match then ? I never us ed d talons but i seen vids, they have the clip in which i like but they use a thin nikrome wire that glows, the e match are way different
@@yellowgroove I use the MJG Firewire Initiators with my systems. I have a bunch of Talons, but I don't like how they work. I've seen the wire break too many times when testing. I've used regular e-matches over the years, but I finally ran out. Gotta try those switches both ways.....:)
@@gjam5204 thanks im new to this e fire but i know by watching vids the orange color Talons, the tiny wire glows for a sec or 2, mostly like a toaster how it glows but never checked out the fire wire, thanks, gonna look into those
As far as using the old radio shack volt meter..... here is another nugget of info and that is " dont try to fix what is not broken" lol, anotherwords, if it works, why buy a new Volt meter ( as long as its accurate) and works great
I bought this same system about a month ago. Mine in on when the switch is down. The problem I'm having is even a new battery in the remote only fires a few times. I have tried 4 new batteries. Maybe I'm just getting lemons, but I'm starting to wonder if something is wrong with the remote.
Good morning I wanted to know if on this control unit there is the possibility to display through the LED when the batteries are running low or are discharged. Thank you
? If you buy two systems would the remote work on both and defeat the purpose of having two or is it programmed to the unit specifically? Like an rc car.
Just like a drain plug on a car radiator, to drain, it ts the opposite way, clockwise and vice versa, I learned that years ago, strange, button up means on , but, it’s different I guess on that remote, they should have that in the directions..not your fault man.
Thank you so much for the help with my firework system. Quick question has anyone figured out the right commands for the All FIRE and SEQUENCE FIRE command buttons? Thanks
A very clear demonstration on how to use a firing system...thanks...for sharing
Spent 5 minutes watching this to find how this guy didn't turn the thing on. Mannnn hahahha
It was on , just that the switches are reversed lol
Ffw to 5 minutes in haha thanks

Thanks for the reply, now it really makes sense
Do you know what the rough distance you can use the remote?
@@scottie370 I can verify that it works from at least 250 feet away.
All switches in china are down is on. Including wall switches to electronics
@@Chris-fj9ir that explains it, just like steering wheels are on the opposite side in the UK
If you hold 11 and 12 it will sequence fire VERY QUICKLY!
Try it out when you have no e-match in it. Video: ruclips.net/video/7eaRJUgINOg/видео.html
I tried to tell you that when you first got the system. I knew down is to turn the power on. lol
lols
This only needed to be a 30 second video.
Took 5mins to get to the point

Sure is, now i feel good about ordering longer ignitors, might go with Talons

With talons you want to hold the button down and not quickly press it. Best to not use em though they're not as good

No each unit can be linked but be independent too, the remote will work on multiple units, just program / assign a number
If you get multiple units , dont forget to label each unit as to what # you have it programmed for

finally
I just got my new system not a bit of paperwork on instructions

Anyone knowing the cue code for All Channels Go at Once??
Press 10 and 12 together for all at once. Press 11 and 12 together for sequential fire of everything with slight delay between each.
Thank You! Btw, both of my hand-controlers for the 2 sets i have, don't even have a on/off switch..@@doughnut101

17 videos to get to the problem and it was a switch. Lol

Bad ass radio shack volt meter old school lol
Hey it works and is pretty accurate, old maybe but it can even detect voltage presence like behind a wall, i miss radio shack , no more stores
@@yellowgroove I'm old school bro I love that stuff I still have analog meters dude lol
Where can I find the cables that starts the fire?
I ordered mine on eBay
5 full minutes of nothing but blah blah blah do yourself a favor skip to 5 min
