It's the BASKETBALL HOF, not NBA HOF. 2-time Illinois High school state champion and Mr. Basketball, lead Memphis to championship game (technically wiped out because of ineligibility), NBA Rookie of the Year, YOUNGEST MVP in history at age 22, lead Bulls to best regular season record in NBA in back-to-back seasons (no allstar teammates besides Deng in 2012). Don't forget that he's a cultural icon in Chicago and Asia. The stuff he accomplished in his prime (2009-2012) is more than what guys like CP3 or Melo have accomplished in their NBA careers technically. Sometimes quality > quantity

Yao is in there because of "international impact". Basically, he's Chinese and the NBA wants to capitalize on that market, so they let him in to increase the popularity of the game over there. Derrick Rose is not an international player, so you cannot compare the two.
T-Mac made it because of his longevity. T-Mac sustained a high level of offensive output for several seasons before he got injured. His numbers are significantly more impressive than D-Rose's though he did not experience as much playoff success. Hall of Fame induction is more predicated on numbers than, non-championship playoff success.
D-Rose is more comparable to Penny Hardaway, who was a great player, but is not in the Hall of fame due to lack of longevity. They have similar numbers and similar playoff success. D-Rose's only viable argument is that he won an MVP award.
I personally think he deserves to get in based off of his talent alone. I think he would be a top 5 player today and top 20 all time had he never gotten injured.

I was going back in forth about this but I think he should. Especially the way he bounced back from everything he endured injury wise throughout his career and came back and balled out the way he did with the wolves, scoring 50 points, being a consistent contributor night in and night out, and never giving up.. to me that’s the epitome of someone that deserves to be in the hall of fame. And then being the youngest mvp of all time, several all star appearances BEFORE the age of what, 24, 25? An all NBA team.. that speaks for itself.

      1. Wikipedia should never be quoted as a source, because anyone can change anything on the site at anytime.
      * That's lesson #1 when you step foot inside any college in America.
      2. Derrick Rose has been misused out of position for three straight seasons by horrible Head Coaching + the triangle.
      * Hence there's no way he or any Point Guard could average 20+ PPG under those conditions.
      * Media & average fans may not take those factors into consideration, but the Basketball Hall of Fame Committee does.
      3. Derrick Rose wasn't a scorer in highschool nor college, until Calipari and Del Negro BEGGED HIM to score more.
      * Prior to that Rose averaged about 15 PPG at every level.
      4. The fact that Rose became such a prolific scorer on the highest level so quickly is UNHEARD OF and another log on his Hall of Fame fire.
      5. Add the fact that Rose is the first in history to recover from FOUR MAJOR KNEE SURGERIES & return to All Star form...
...and you have a story that's never been duplicated in NBA HISTORY.
      * That's a lot of history being made by someone who is only 30 years old - a year younger than Steph Curry.
      6. Media will never point this out to you because they STUPIDLY said that Derrick Rose "was washed up & finished."
      * This is the reason why they can't even mention his name anymore. Too embarrassed!
      7. Derrick Rose is a once in a generation player, who is making history each game he plays.
So turn off the Sports talk Bullshyt and enjoy History being made.
