Vlade is one of many international players who helped popularize the sport on an international level, especially in his home country, Serbia. Plus, Vlade was a great player in the Euroleague before he came to the NBA. Other than win MVP, what has Rose done to warrant a HOF selection?
RBG RBG Divac is in for his international accomplishments and his contributions he’s made towards making the NBA global. It’s the Basketball HOF not NBA HOF. Webber isn’t in (yet) because of the Michigan scandal that basically wiped his entire college career.
Lacy Coleman what did vlade do in the NBA that qualifies for the HOF? He’s a career 11 and 8, no all star selections, no all nba teams beside the rookie team in 90. No dpoy awards, 6th man and he played at a time when the center position was very important and got worked by all of them. So unless u watched him play in Yugoslavia u sound dumb

Rose's resume is already more impressive than Bill Walton's, Grant Hill & Tracy McGrady. Rose is a surefire Hall of Famer, the only partly legit question scrubs can ask is will he be a first ballot HOF TEN YEARS FROM NOW when he's retired and eligible?
@1-800-Wavy 18ppg career average & that includes being wasted/misused out of position for 3 straight seasons. Rose is ALREADY a lock for the Hall of Fame and the next few years is just icing on the cake.

Your standards are very low. The HOF should be a big deal. When you allow D-Rose through on pity points, along with some of the other names in there already, it dilutes the purpose of any HOF.
solcreate Youngest League MVP, multiple all-star and all-NBA appearances, Rookie playoff scoring leader, two high school state championships, and an NCAA Finals appearance should be a big deal.
Yes.. Simple he got an mvp. He lead the bulls to multiple playoff runs.He inspired me especially since I live in Chicago to play. He played through injuries leading the bulls mentally.

Art B no he isn’t lol he took them on and lost. Won only 1 mvp. Yeah he was young but doesn’t really matter. Take emotion out of it buddy he has not had a HOF career
Yao is in there because of "international impact". Basically, he's Chinese and the NBA wants to capitalize on that market, so they let him in to increase the popularity of the game over there. Derrick Rose is not an international player, so you cannot compare the two. T-Mac made it because of his longevity. T-Mac sustained a high level of offensive output for several seasons before he got injured. His numbers are significantly more impressive than D-Rose's though he did not experience as much playoff success. Hall of Fame induction is more predicated on numbers than, non-championship playoff success. D-Rose is more comparable to Penny Hardaway, who was a great player, but is not in the Hall of fame due to lack of longevity. They have similar numbers and similar playoff success. D-Rose's only viable argument is that he won an MVP award. I personally think he deserves to get in based off of his talent alone. I think he would be a top 5 player today and top 20 all time had he never gotten injured.
James Taylor Yao and T-Mac despite their injuries they managed to have 7-8 great seasons playing at an All Star level. Yao is an 8x All Star, T-Mac is a 7x All Star. D-Rose is what...3x All Star??
If your 6,3 and dunkin on people who are at least 7 foot and the youngest to ever be mvp D rose should be there one of the most feared PG to ever play the game of basketball
of course I would want rose to make it but like other people are saying getting into the hall-of fame requires you to have a great career not to just win a ring or one mvp. like T-mac said anyone can win a ring looks at all the bums on the warriors that have rings because of Steph durant klay draymand but not everyone can make it to the hall of fame to make it I would say you have to at-least have 5 great years in your career you don't have to be great in you whole career but minimum at least five yers.

Dwight shouldn't make the HOF unless he returns to 2009 form and performs that way for another half-decade. D-Rose should only make the HOF if he can return to a star presence for something like 5 years from this point on. Fat chance. Luckily the HOF is a joke right now, so they may make it anyway.
@Michael Hart Howard had essentially a five-year prime, when considering offense and defense. When his back started to rob him of his athleticism, he dropped off fast. He always lacked any notable post-game offensively, and his prime didn't last long enough to justify a hall nod. Especially the way he bounced back from everything he endured injury wise throughout his career and came back and balled out the way he did with the wolves, scoring 50 points, being a consistent contributor night in and night out, and never giving up.. to me that’s the epitome of someone that deserves to be in the hall of fame. It's the BASKETBALL HOF, not NBA HOF. 2-time Illinois High school state champion and Mr. Basketball, lead Memphis to championship game (technically wiped out because of ineligibility), NBA Rookie of the Year, YOUNGEST MVP in history at age 22, lead Bulls to best regular season record in NBA in back-to-back seasons (no allstar teammates besides Deng in 2012). Don't forget that he's a cultural icon in Chicago and Asia. The stuff he accomplished in his prime (2009-2012) is more than what guys like CP3 or Melo have accomplished in their NBA careers technically. Sometimes quality > quantity

It is a joke
You stole that pic from Wilburgur.
In the nfl you can get in the hall of fame with stats and long jeporday with characteristics. Nba it's all about stats but you need long jeopardy of dominance. Vlade freaking divac made it HOF.....why not derrick rose ?
Vlade made it for contributions outside of what he did on the court.
Vlade is one of many international players who helped popularize the sport on an international level, especially in his home country, Serbia. Plus, Vlade was a great player in the Euroleague before he came to the NBA.

Stop making Bullshyt up!

Absolutely!! He was on the road to becoming the best PG ever! Until injury. Battled through injury and still play in the NBA!
Yes.. Simple he got an mvp. He lead the bulls to multiple playoff runs.He inspired me especially since I live in Chicago to play. He played through injuries leading the bulls mentally.
Their Should Be An NBA HOF

Youngest mvp of all time and still goin strong hes a Hall of Famer
If he was going strong like being a top 20 player in the game then yeah but he's not
If Yao and T-mac made it then D-Rose should be HOF!
Dumb comparison
Tyrone Grant dumb face
Top 20 all time is an insult. He'd be the best pg of all time and top 5player no question
James Taylor Yao and T-Mac despite their injuries they managed to have 7-8 great seasons playing at an All Star level. Yao is an 8x All Star, T-Mac is a 7x All Star. D-Rose is what...3x All Star??

of course I would want rose to make it but like other people are saying getting into the hall-of fame requires you to have a great career not to just win a ring or one mvp.
like T-mac said anyone can win a ring looks at all the bums on the warriors that have rings because of Steph durant klay draymand but not everyone can make it to the hall of fame to make it I would say you have to at-least have 5 great years in your career you don't have to be great in you whole career but minimum at least five yers.
He should make it. Obviously his career path and postseason success wasn’t ideal but he’s got the accolades
Like wat
The only relevant accolade he has is mvp

3× NBA All-Star
All-NBA First Team
NBA Rookie of the Year
NBA All-Rookie First Team
2x Gold medalist
And also his background, dude, not everyone can do what Derick does or did.

D Rose would be a healthier player if Tom didn’t wear him down every game. Luol Deng too
Rose will always be Chi-town royalty. If the NBA is too stuck up to put him in HOF, then he is too good for it 💪🏽
Yes he should
Drose is a HoF... if he didn’t get injured, he could’ve been one of the best players to play the game. he’s a HoF
Jake Miller but he did and so there are 3 great seasons to justify HOF status....no way that’s enough
Jhonathan Alarcon don’t forget about international tournaments along with his college season
He's arguably the most loved player of this generation, I am yet to meet a D. Rose hater. If Dwight Howard is a HoF'er then D. Rose should be too imo.
If we pretend that the Hall of Fame isn't largely a joke in it's easy selection process.
The idea that what I'm saying is outlandish is asinine on your part.
Youngest MVP in NBA history... nuff said. That’s a HOF achievement.
He deserves to be in the HoF one day. He was the most explosive point guard the NBA has ever seen. Youngest MVP ever, multi time all star, gold medalist, roty, carried the bulls through the playoffs and despite his many injuries still came back and put up good numbers.
He was one of the greatest in the league for 2-3 years and despite injuries is still putting up good numbers and more importantly people love him almost on the level that people love AI.

I was going back in forth about this but I think he should. Especially the way he bounced back from everything he endured injury wise throughout his career and came back and balled out the way he did with the wolves, scoring 50 points, being a consistent contributor night in and night out, and never giving up.. to me that’s the epitome of someone that deserves to be in the hall of fame. And then being the youngest mvp of all time, several all star appearances BEFORE the age of what, 24, 25? An all NBA team.. that speaks for itself.

* That's lesson #1 when you step foot inside any college in America.
2. Derrick Rose has been misused out of position for three straight seasons by horrible Head Coaching + the triangle.
* Hence there's no way he or any Point Guard could average 20+ PPG under those conditions.
* Media & average fans may not take those factors into consideration, but the Basketball Hall of Fame Committee does.
3. Derrick Rose wasn't a scorer in highschool nor college, until Calipari and Del Negro BEGGED HIM to score more.
* Prior to that Rose averaged about 15 PPG at every level.
4. The fact that Rose became such a prolific scorer on the highest level so quickly is UNHEARD OF and another log on his Hall of Fame fire.
5. Add the fact that Rose is the first in history to recover from FOUR MAJOR KNEE SURGERIES & return to All Star form...
...and you have a story that's never been duplicated in NBA HISTORY.
* That's a lot of history being made by someone who is only 30 years old - a year younger than Steph Curry.
