All of his movements was more stomping hard pounding his feet and knees in the ground with every step . Not really using toes for balance… one knee messed up then the other because he was rushed back to fast as said in the video . Ankles are next and then on from there . Slowly breakdown of his body is wat we watched some of these nba organizations really will hurt you . Boston celtics IT was told his hip was ready when it really wasnt . Organizations in the nba will lie to you about your health the doctors will lie and you will go out there playing on about 85% health but one fuck up can fuck up your whole career .

The problem was that he didn't really know how else to play. That style of play is what got him to where he was but it isn't sustainable. He would have to completely reinvent himself and there is no guarantee his game would still be at the elite level if he did.

The fact that people say his mvp was undeserved is wild. Dude carried the bulls to 60 wins and while their defense was elite you still have to put points on the board, which they had HORRIBLE spacing and no secondary offense with noah and boozer. Lebron had two all-stars, arguably all-nba caliber teammates, a hall of fame coach, and an elite veteran supporting cast and still couldn't win more regular season games. Also you look at that conf finals, even though its 4-1 if you add up the point totals the margin is 11 points. Over 5 games. At 23 he played one of the GOATS in his prime when he had his best supporting cast and if roses teammates made a couple more threes he could've beat them.

IMO - Derrick Rose will be a Hall of Famer. Might not be 1st ballot, but if the class is relatively weak he could be.
As mentioned the hall has pretty low standards and has so far let every (eligible) MVP winner in.
However, despite the DRFC I don’t believe he cracks top 100, nor do I think he is close to being “the biggest what if” - we saw what he was and that was pretty close to, if not his ceiling.
His game relied so heavily on his athleticism and quickness - without the major injuries, smaller ones would have seen that decrease. Even with major injury he wasn’t exactly motivated to change his game up.

Rose evolved his game in hindsight to him being prone to injuries due to gameplay with athleticism being a big portion of it. so he didn't lose anything, he sacrificed his athleticism and came up with new ways to stay relevant, teams were not interested in him anymore not wanting to build around him or give him a real chance, the media as well were always waiting for a dunk or coast to coast finish to say "Vintage Rose" which didn't help neither.

As much as we all love Derrick and he is a legend for what he did in his prime, just that as much as how quickly he hit his prime from the start so did his downfall. So even though his impact was immense during his 3 years prime time with the bulls, it was not lasting. We love him, he is one of my favorite pg of all time and a legend in the game and in our hearts, to me his impact was immense but not enough for him to end up in hall of fame. But as a fan of his game and basketball in general, I would be happy to see him in HOF.

Now this might sound fishy, but the reason why he is so beloved by fans is because of how relatable he is.
A lot of basketball players (professional or not) go through injuries and difficulties in their careers. For me Derrick Rose was this guy that I looked up to when I was injured…he’s that guy who was at the top and fell off hardly down because of his injuries and yet never gave up on playing the game he always loved. He might didn’t come back as a good as he was physically but you could tell how much he grew as a person throughout his injuries. And this with no doubts is inspirational.
And for the question if he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, let me ask you another question!!!
How many players or better say point guards did we have that were so explosive and athletic like D Rose before he entered the league?
Like Steph, his playing style inspired generations to come…today we have Ja, SGA, De'Aaron Fox etc. All are point guards who somehow adapted this playing style. Don’t come at me with Kobe or MJ…both were Shooting Guards / Small forwards and AI was flashy but not that athletic🤷🏻‍♂️
Before D Rose a PGs only purpose was to playmake, give passes and maybe sometimes to shoot.

He was ineligible for 6moty in detroit in 19-20 because he started a couple too many games. He was the consensus winner. In 18-19 he had better per 36 stats than his MVP season. When he was traded to the knicks in 2020-21 he started their massive winning streak right when he showed up, he helped shift that culture around. If Derrick makes the HoF, then in my eyes Brandon Roy should too. I know most people would think that's nuts and they're not comparable, but they share more similarities than differences in their play, impact and the sheer lack of longevity with their durability, specifically with their knees. Brandon's impact went beyond local fans to Portland and Seattle - it permeated through the players, too. Kobe raved about Brandon. The best defenders of the time like Raja Bell consistently ranked him as the worst player to guard. Kobe both loved and hated going head to head with him for christ sake. Dude had the ability to carry the entire time offensively in the clutch, even with his dead knees & arthritis. BRoy and DRose have had a lasting impact on so many. If one makes it to the HoF, the other has to.

McGrady has way more All-NBA selections (7 vs. 1), and more All-Star selections (7 vs. 3). McGrady was also the league's 2-time scoring champion. We all know their computations are purely weighted numbers based, and do not take into account the fact players get in the Hall all the time based on what they COULD have been w/o injuries and how much everyone loves them. T-Mac, Grant Hill, Bill Walton, Chris Bosh, Drazen Petrovic are just a few examples. There is no "they" here; no conspiracy against D. Rose.
