Every genre of music performed by Metallica

- I decided to create a video based on a dude who was doing similar videos along the lines of “Every genre performed by Nirvana”, so I decided to do a similar format but with my favorite band Metallica. If anything, this is just my perception of the genres, don't swear! If I'm wrong about something and made a mistake somewhere, then write in the comments about it, I'll be happy to read it.

Mama Said is country
Yeah idk what he's on about
Literally
Country Rock*
Mama said knock you out
mama said Mama Said is country
Some of these are way off. "Hero of the Day" and "Until it Sleeps" are both alternative rock, while "Mama Said" is a country song. They have also played other genres that are not included in this video, like Southern rock ("Ronnie"), NWOBHM ("Atlas, Rise!"), and garbage (the entirety of "LULU").
Lulu is so sad to me, coz so many riffs from there are bangers
*Lulu is trash metal. Unique genre
Outlaw Torn for Progressive rock?
@@shryggur Definitely not.
@@shryggur 10 minute song doesnt automatically make it prog
How tf blitzkrieg is crossover
Maybe because it covers of a punk rock band
@@metalfan-pp3iw since when Blitzkrieg is a punk band? It's NWOBHM.
I considered blitzkrieg the band more punk rock than nwobhm but then again I'm not so picky about genre name so you do you
@@metalfan-pp3iw worst take I've ever heard. Brian Ross doesn't have the vocals for punk.
@@pkepix5405yeah his vocals are pure nwobhm.

Fuel is not Groove Metal, mama Said is not Blues Rock, Frantic is not Industral Metal
i feel like frantic should be under groove metal, barely
Yeah, wtf how frantic is Industrial Metal 😂
@@georgiossirgoudis9207 Lars plays on Construction site kit
I think he put in industrial because the stupid fucking snare drum
@@Inkientfrantic is alternative metal. Pretty much the entire album falls into that genre
fuel is not groove metal, its hard rock and heavy metal
Ya this person is an idiot. Groove Metal would’ve been closer to 2x4. Fuel is too fast which is not a characteristic of groove (slower tempo)
And justice for all has some groove metal in it
It’s kinda southern metal
🤓☝🏼 Ackchually it is high speed thrash fusion with symphonic gay rock and powermetal
actually it’s progressive hard buttcore with a fusion of alternative nü groove elements 👆🤓
Finally someone who appreciates ajfa riff
mama said is not bliues rock its outlaw country
🤓
People say Metallica sold out, and maybe they're right. But it let them show greater versatility in their craft and, at least for me, proved they weren't just a one-trick pony.
I think St. Anger is full of Nu Metal
It's jazz 🗿
jizz metal
What are you talking about it's symphonic nü-classical influenced metal
St Anger is both nu metal and alternative metal.
Nu-Metal? More like Pu-Metal, amirite?
st anger is nu metyal
0:56 sounded more country
The first load song was not hard rock 😂
Missed genres and or errors in the videos
Mama Said: Country/Country Blues
Hero Of The Day: Country Rock
Fixxer: Blues Rock
The Unforgiven II: Pop Rock/Southern Rock
Until It Sleeps: Alternative Rock/Grunge
Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven: Acoustic Rock/Hard Rock/Symphonic Metal
For Whom The Bell Tolls: Doom Metal
Eye Of The Beholder: Groove Metal
Dyer’s Eye: Technical Thrash Metal
The Frayed Ends Of Sanity: Death Metal(at least the closest they ever got to Death Metal, some heavy as fuck moments)
Low Man’s Lyrics: ? Experimental
Lulu album(It’s really a collab album): Avant-garde Metal/Poetry
St. Anger: Alternative Metal/Southern Metal/Noise Rock/Garage Rock
Orion: Progressive Metal/Art Rock
No Leaf Clover: Classical Crossover
Atlas Rise: NWOBHM(the sound of the track)
Last Caress/Green Hell: Punk Rock/Hardcore Punk
The Small Hours: Sludge Metal
Turn The Page: Rock
from whom the bell tolls is more like groove metal
I’d say The Thing That Should Not Be is more doomy.
@@donald60s14 st anger is NÜ Metal!
St. Anger is absolutely bonk metal
It is trash metal.
Trash (can) metal! 😂😂😂
Hero Of The Day I've always considered to be more alternative rock while the rest and of the album with a couple of exceptions is more hard rock, Justice can't be progressive though I can definitely hear the complex riffing may have had a strong impact on prog bands, I know Metallica has influenced a lot of prog metal bands, hard to tell if Until It Sleeps should be considered alternative metal though, Fuel is definitely not groove metal, Mama Said is country and definitely not blues and Low Man's Lyric doesn't even sound close to that, always thought that one was more orchestral influenced hence the violins, and Garage Inc. being a covers album of course was originally a variety of genres including garage and punk and Misfits obviously being a punk rock band, and for St. Anger definitely not industrial though Wikipedia says nu metal
There's nothing industrial about st anger
industrial grade trash can snare
snaare
Drums?
Battery is almost death metal with that post solo riff
Nope.
Following your stupid logic, "Fight Fire With Fire" would be the "most" death metal song in Metallica's discography.
@@i_want_my_shuggahi can totally picture some early Death vocals over FFWF
@@i_want_my_shuggah you don't get it, I'm not talking about song as a whole just that one riff after the solo with slamming drums and bass, and "fight fire with fire" is pure thrash just speed and some power chords no signs of death metal
@@crnac974no that riff is not death metal at all, its a pretty common type of thrash downpicking riff
Without reading any comments, I know it'll be a bunch of people complaining about his choice of genres and claiming that he's wrong
Misinformation Video 😕
Invisible Kid is Alternative metal but a bit close to thrash/groove when it comes for the guitars what are you on about🤨
Mid section of Orion is big Prog Rock vibes
Orion is def prog-metal. I would consider Master prog-metal too, rather than pure thrash. maybe the riffs arent very technical, but they have his odd quality about them, almost other-wordly, compared to the very straightforward thrash riffs of lets say Ride the Lightning. and of course its structure is very prog
Kill em all is also thrash metal
No there's also speed metal there.
@@justempty7036 It is Thrash metal dominated. Thus making it Thrash.
When Kill 'Em All was released, Thrash wasn't even the name for it, making it Speed Metal, which is still essentially a mix of NWOBHM and Hardcore Punk
@@CharlieWielowski might not have been thrash at that time. But by standards it is today.
If you do this for Muse the video will be atleast 10 minutes long
That's definitely not Industrial Metal.
Blitzkrieg is New Wave of British Heavy Metal, originally by the band of the same name 'Blitzkrieg' - it is not crossover thrash in any way, shape or form. Some of your other suggestions are very wrong too.
Literally all of this is wrong
All genres are good 🤘🔥
james hetfield would definitely fit as a country singer
Yeah i wish he had an side project solo country album like that morbid angel vocalist
This song has more have a country influence 0:56
Metallica are admitted Lynyrd Skynard fans!
Southern Rock/Metal? You can see it in Load/Reload and also in their cover of Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Listen to Rammstein, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails... You don't know what Industrial Metal is. You got it wrong on Megadeth too. Only Insomnia is a bit close but only in parts. Your homework is to listen to Skinny Puppy to learn what Industrial is. Nothing Metallica does is Industrial. Please note I'm both goth and a metalhead.
Now Make every genre song of Slayer, destruction , kreator and Exodus !
Oh great one, thrash, thrash, thrash, and also thrash
1:22 ive never heard Nothing Else Matters like that before
I'd better say the genre is nickelback not hard rock
Yeah, i see the similarities, but Nickelback played Hard Rock in the past(and sometimes now)
‘Speed metal’ = Thrash Metal
Edit: Thank you everyone, I now know the difference!
I thought the same
I don’t agree. Running Wild plays speed metal, i wouldn’t call them thrash. Same goes for Exciter, Venom, first Bathory album (the return and later is way more thrash).
@@arrebarre900oh ok. Banger.
IMHO, Speed Metal is the direct prototype to Thrash.
No lmao
These guys have it all, holy moly! 😃

if you count their mercyful fate cover, you could eve say they played proto-black.
Nothing Else Matters (Elevator version) is from the black album
This compilation is the shits.....
St. Anger Is Alternative Metal
Ролик хороший, но Frantic точно не индастриал, Mama Said скорее кантри, и не упомянут жанр power ballad (Fade to Black например). Die, Die, My Darling
2x4 is much more groove metal. Love the video tho. This every genre concept is awesome
@WilliamTodd-King-nw1xj I’d say Ain’t my B is more hard rock, especially with the slide guitar solo. 2x4 feels a tad bit heavier
Wasting my hate too
Inamorata is stoner rock you could add it there
Slayer, Anthrax, Sevendust, Static X
If you can
Oh, St. Anger when Lars committed abuse on trashcans
I think Black Album is more Heavy Rock, Metal n' Roll and that kind of genres.
AJFA i would say is technical Trash.
i think i disagree, Black Album is still Metal(but it's just not that much Thrashy like previous albums), because of that i would rather say, that Load is more this Heavy Rock and AJFA is a combination between Prog and Thrash Metal
Technical thrash you mean
@@mikeortiz9664 oh okey
I would say that AJFA is more Progressive/Thrash.
@@abano4827agreed
Harvester of Sorrow fits in with groove metal much better
bruh you just put the song without the name
King Gizzard 🙂
@WilliamTodd-King-nw1xj мало
2/2 no actually St anger might be black metal leaning because All the reasons i hate black metal enumerated line up, the production sucks, drums have no groove its just there to be there, the singer sounds like hes quacking , the guitar meanders around, and takes too long going there,
while i don't agree with most of your picks, i also have to mention that commenters are being very butt hurt about your picks, which is totally understandable, but they do not grasp the concept of an opinion.
I dont think there's one metal song on Load or Reload. It's all very hard rock to me. The guitar tone/sound isn't metal enough.
@WilliamTodd-King-nw1xj and what are those songs?
None of the St. Anger songs were industrial or nu-metal. They were trash metal.
Enter sandman is off
Did you use a different mix made with the rock band stems?
Blitzkreig is 100% nwobhm how is that crossover lol
Justice is a mix o technical/progressive thrash with some subtle martial vibes in some sections.
Wouldn't Enter Sandman be considered Groove metal?
St, Anger sounds like a Nu Metal
Bro I hate these kinds of videos they where a trash band that’s what’s they played 😭
What is the last song name? It wasn’t on Kill em all
Blitzkrieg, and they recorded it for a some single(i don't remember)
Those misfits covers aren't punk. They're shite
bullshit every categorize is wrong
Frantic nu metal fuel heavy metal
Mama said is country.
AJFA actually has all the markers of what makes a groove metal song, groove metal.
Wait what’s the crossover thrash song?
Hero of the day не хард рок
For whom the bell tolls is very doomy
only first 5 album. i don't need more
First 3
I shitted my pants at 0:24
No leaf clover is not symphonic metal. Otherwise I can say that every s&m is symphonic metal
Symphony and Metallica, or in other words Symphonic Metal
For Groove Metal i would pick 2X4
@WilliamTodd-King-nw1xj Nah. None of their songs are Hard Rock...

Frantic
@@nachoplaymer4397 thanks

what's 1:04?
Blitzkrieg is... Crossover?
@WilliamTodd-King-nw1xj *its nwobhm btw* and that wasn’t me saying it was crossover. The video calls blitzkrieg crossover
My opinion : With 20 years of consideration, St. Anger is their only side to side EARLY 2000 GARAGE HEAVY METAL album. That's why it is regarded at being so out of place in their discography. They went back to their early nasty sound roots but without the trash and with an bass founded immense wall of sound production.
It's like the Lou Reed / Metallica Album, it's like side projects
>speed metal
Ronnie: BLUES ROCK*****
St anger might be nu metal/crossover thrash
Based on the detuned guitars, tinny snare, lack of solos, and tween-punk lyrics,
Most played is St. Anger everyone knows that. If someone says otherwise they’re lying
Gwar would be perfect man
I don't agree with all the genre indicated but this is why Metallica gets never boring (not really a fan of saint anger but appreciate the experiment). I love bands like megadeth or iron maiden but they sound kinda the always the same at some point to me.
Máster of puppets isnt a good example of Thrash anothers like Figth Fire with Fire or metal Militia are better examples
Frantic is called sh*t metal
Bro the progressive side of Metallica is in master of puppets
Lol. Industrial metal because the snare sounds like a trash can
Shoulda used a RTL song for thrash...
