Just had to let you know, that your voice now accompanies me in my head on the thrifting trips. I hear you say "Lane Bry-a**" or "Nautic-a**" or "Coldwater A**). Folks must wonder why I'm walking around chuckling to myself. Thank you for your hard work!
Wow this is crazy informative. I usually just stick to finding the linen and silk shirts as well as jackets as those have always sold well for me. I live in Florida so Tommy Bahama is abundant and I find myself passing over it unless it’s a Linen or silk. Thanks for the information I’ll be on the lookout for these sub categories!
I just started reselling and am so overwhelmed with brands and even beginning to source in the stores lol. I really appreciate what you did with this video I am going to set up my own deep dives for myself are you using eBay sales /vs comps or terapeak for your stats. Totally understand if not interested in sharing that piece. I hope people will pay for what you are providing I’ll keep watching videos and develop brand deep dives I learn best by doing the work. 🙏🏽 Be well
I just purchased a TB Coconut Point shirt on Tuesday. I did my comps then watched your video and your estimate was spot on! I raised mine a couple of dollars so that I can discount when I get a watcher. I really like how you broke down the best designs to look for too!
I went to an estate sale this past weekend and picked up quite a few tommy bahama shirts 2XL. This video is very informative thank you. I will be purchasing the autopsy.
Sidenote if you made a collection of every brand autopsy and bundled it as like "the ultimate brand guide" or something, I and I'm sure many others would happily pay for that. The menswear guide is already worth its weight in gold but an expanded one with deep dives into brands would be incredible. Have you thought of starting like a group where people can join and not only read and discuss the brands but also submit our own autopsies? I would also gladly pay a subscription for something like that. There is already the reseller group with tek and dailyrefinement but I would still be very interested. Just throwing that out there.
Tommy Bahama can be frustrating because some items are hot and others not so much. Very much hit or miss like you said. Can't just snag any TB you see. For instance I absently grabbed a TB linen shirt and a TB reversible shirt. The difference in price and demand was pretty staggering. In retrospect I would have left the reversible shirt.
I find what sells good for me are the women's tropical half zip pullovers and the women's tropical dresses. I can get about $40 for them. Except, now of course, my Goodwill has been marking them up.
I own quite a few TB shirts, mostly because I have family in Miami and I'd rather just blend in than worry about being an individual. Also, it's real hot down there, so tropical look it is. And I'm not in the resale biz.
I went to the thrift store in my area and saw quite a bit of Tommy Bahama. I couuldn't believe the prices for the shirts $9.95 and up. I live in The Bay area where prices are really high. Think Silicone Valley. I think it was you who said, "Watch your buy Costs." I left the Goodwill store with no purchases.
I got A $100 for the Phoenix Tommy Bahama ... It was a Beautiful shirt .... I love the Jeans , very Comfortable... The plain stuff is not good , and the real dressy shirts I thought would be worth more are not ... And they are nice .. but I'm keeping them for myself anyhow ... But anything With a lot going on is great ... The plain stuff is like almost any other brand ....
I remember when it was in demand in early 2000's. You are right. Even then, these bahama styles were not all desirable new in that decade, but very pricey.
I would love to see brand autopsy for ralph lauren because I see it EVERYWHERE in thrift stores... sometimes I make good money, sometimes it sits forever and ever
All you can find in thrift stores are the shirts. It took 2 years for a pair of TB silk pants to sell and it had price tag. I will never again source TB pants.
Do you know what happened to the Thrift Fever guy? You said you learned a lot from him so watched every one of his videos as I have of yours, but now I need more. So, do you know what happened to him? Also, can you recommend others who you trust?
I know this is your expertise, & you think the eBay analytics don't lie, but I think you are overthinking this brand way beyond necessary. BTW, I did purchase the 1st Manifesto. 🍍💰🛒👕
If it is like 1$ cheap I will still pick it up because so many older men just still like to get it because it's "their brand". 15-18 bucks is pretty much what I get.
I can't believe Pineapple is only 29%.
"Swing" and a miss
I definitely thought the thumbnail was a RUclips ad for Tommy bahama until I kept reading 😂
When the thumbnail is too good.

Same. Same with Big Yumbo - I can hear both of them saying the brands as I find them. Huge help.
Dude I love how you go so in detail you are so informative I really hope you are making a living off of youtube because you deserve it
Wow the details and time it must have taken you to do this is amazing. Thank you!!

Hey brother, just bought the manifesto! I'm excited to read it, I always learn so much from you. You rock!

Holy cow! Thanks for doing the super deep dive so we didn't have to!! Wonderful info. A+++

This is some really good work. Heading to gumroad now. Thank you!
I love this format. Could you do this for Brook Brothers or Polo Ralph Lauren?
Sweet thumbnail bruv!
Love this style of video, very helpful and informative.
Awesome video. Thanks for the deep dive into the sale through factors of Tommy Bahama.
Raise your hand if your thrifts price TB like it's Gucci
I recently bought 2 TB polos and 2 long sleeves for $6 each. They're size S and I'm a size S but they fit HUGE.
I remember working for a dry cleaner back in 2008 and it was SO popular!
Hi Matt, could you do one of these vids for Spring/Sumer Men's Sport Coats please?!!! TIA!!!

This is a good idea, there are quite a few brands that could be examined and broken down

Great info and learned a lot Tommy Bahama hard goods can do well as do their leather goods
Thank you, you earned a subscriber 👌
I haven't run the numbers on it, but I use "cocktail" along with whatever relevant alcoholic beverage for Tommy Bahama & other brands
I remember when it was in demand in early 2000's. You are right. Even then, these bahama styles were not all desirable new in that decade, but very pricey.
anytime ive picked up island zone its sold within a few days...for around the 24 dollar mark..
Great video. Helpful.
I’ve got a shift dress listed that’s Linen with Toucan print. Hoping $30-35ish
I don't think I've seen anything in this brand that looked special, but now I will keep an eye out instead of just passing it up by default. Thanks!!
Really great video. Please consider a Ralph Lauren similar video. I understand it may take you much effort but I’m sure it will be well received.
This would be a good one 🙌🏻
Please make this a series!!!
Yes. This would be a great series. It truly shows the I credible value of the MENS wear manifesto.
Great Video Thank You For The Hard Work!!!
I’ve had some luck selling Tom Bahama ties and usually pick them up if in good condition.
Thank you!
I would love to see brand autopsy for ralph lauren because I see it EVERYWHERE in thrift stores... sometimes I make good money, sometimes it sits forever and ever
Is there a womens version of the The Menswear Manifesto out there that you know of?
You are amazing.
Abs'ly love!
All you can find in thrift stores are the shirts. It took 2 years for a pair of TB silk pants to sell and it had price tag. I will never again source TB pants.
I find the shorts and pants all the time, but I leave them behind usually.
I actually like their pillows lol

You should have worn all tommy b for the thumbnail
thumbnail God some would say

If it is like 1$ cheap I will still pick it up because so many older men just still like to get it because it's "their brand".
15-18 bucks is pretty much what I get.
I'll only touch it if it's 2XL or bigger, 100% silk, or linen
