This definitely looks like a really good soild upgraded form of the previous kits. It has a very good impressive shelf presence, The upgraded parts definitely make it feel like a stronger version and aside from the swords not having good holding potential and the fact that there's a feature missing from the anime which honestly I don't remember all that much because I only lasted I think 22 episodes of the show, it does everything else so wonderfully. Great review!
I don't care about what other think but this kit really fit of what i call ideal 00. A perfect close combat gundam. It was even better than 00 sky and 00 arc in that term. All that left for him to be perfected was GN sword III that can be taked from gundam 00 original or exia 😎
I think the Arc is better than the Ace for its versatility without the clunkiness, but to each their own. Though a GN Sword III will definitely help make it more fun to play with
Boy, do I have a story with this kit: I remember seeing this at a local toy store for an equivalent of USD15.00. But payday hasn't come yet, so I was like "Next time." Unfortunately, when payday did arrive the following week, that was when lockdowns due to the pandemic were starting. And so when I tried going to the same store after my would-be last shift in the office, it was closed (as expected, as the only shops open are those for essential needs). Therefore, I ended up not getting this kit at all.
I used Diver Ace as part of my custom because it looked really cool. I needed 2 ace unit sets in order to have 4 super GN sword ii blades set up to act like detachable sword bits. Overall, its a really cool mobile suit design.
Apropos 00 Gundam. The Gundam Base 00 Raiser Trans-Am Clear Expo Version looks very nice for clear kit. (I know u don't like clear kits) A very small chance that we can see a review of it? Shipping is in Feb. 2024 😊
I do have this kit, and this kit is already perfect. Just a touch up on the grey cheek and feet instead of the stickers. I do admit the GN swords II proper holding is not the strongest, so I just leave the handle as is like the 00 Gundam instead.
I do top coat my kits. And it depends on the scale of the paint job. If the kit needs a full/partial repaint, I use my airbrush; if only small details need filling in, I just use markers

Thinking of getting this as my first High Grade. My first gunpla was an SD so I know what to expect in gunpla building but would you recommend this to a beginner like me?
i think the dive ace flat gn drive and swords are downgrades compared to the ones on the seven swords. for me lack of the GN sword III just doesnt feel right
The removal of any GN Swords for the further upgrades just diminishes the uniqueness of the 00's weapons to begin with. Actually you made a fair point, swords are just no different from other swords without some kind of gimmick, and the GN Sword flipping gimmick is exactly what makes them so cool
