I just recently acquired a Glock 23 Gen 3. I took it to the range yesterday, and it was an amazing shooter. Not to much recoil, but has enough kick to make it not boring. Packs a nice punch in a small package. It's a beast!!!
A Glock 23 loaded with 180gr Federal HST is about as good as it gets. And I’ve been able to consistently find .40 ammo in stock through the current ammo shortage. Good vid
Same here bud. .40 and 7.62x39 are the only 2 caliber abundantly available in my area with no quantity restrictions either. Everyone use to laugh at me saying all kinds of things about both caliber. Their not laughing anymore lol. I already had a gen 4 but just grabbed another one but its gen 3. Stay safe bud.
After a 35 year LEO and firearms instructor, I carried the original .40 Glock 22 as my duty weapon. I now carry my Glock 23 G4. Some like them, some don't. Whatever floats your boat, but for me and my family I will carry the 23. I have and will trust my life to Glock.
Outstanding, I too concur with you. Glock makes incredibly reliable firearms. It still baffles me why we chose the Sig M17 over the Glock 19X in the military.
@@ym_796 A good point. However I don't think the availability of .40 would be that scarce. It's still a popular round, just not the most popular round. I was speaking more in terms of bullet effectiveness in combat situations. That's just my opinion.
@@mcb2757 True it probably would be available to some extent. it's just the recoil not being as smooth as something like a 45 or a 10mm (which i prefer) stopping me from carrying it on a daily. still a great gun especially the new-gen 5. Im just waiting on a compact 10mm or .45.
My main carry gun is a Glock 27. To me the .40 is a great choice because guns chambered in .40 are the same size as their 9mm counterparts, but have the knockdown power (trigger word , I know) of the .40 cal. They aren't as large as a .45 would be and they have more capacity than a .45. And the fact that you can simple swap barrels and shoot .357sig is an added bonus. I have nothing against 9mm or 45. I used to own a 45, and I still own a couple 9mm's. The .40 is just my preference for those reasons. The .40 is undeniably a great round. I think the FBI and various law enforcement agencies switch to 9mm might also be motivated by the cost of ammunition and the fact that the 9 is easier to shoot for some people; rather than just the sheer performance of the 9mm.
The .40, in fact pacts a punch, and is a very good choice regardless of what FBI study reveals, .40 still is a great ammo. Glock 22 from 1992, has never had any issue with any type of ammo, and still shooting well. with only one guide rod change in all the years.
Same gun and generation I have. Owned it for years and love it. Gun shoots so smooth, excellent recoil control, never had this gun jam, easy to clean and just feel confident when I use this.
That 23 is nice, I would not mind picking up a used one for a reasonable price. As long as there is no sign of damage and in original configuration, they’re super reliable.
the 40 recoli is easily contained with a training of two mags....she barks ..I've actually grown to love it...you hit something with this ....threat resolved
Glock 23 gen 3 they still make them but they're hard to get gun dealers sell them the same day they get them in today to go for about $550 of course then you have to put night sights if you like them you really don't have to but anyway if you could find a new one or use one I would grab it soon as possible the Gen 3 is about the best one you could get stay away from Jen 5 gen 4 is not too bad they just put those thoughts on the grips they should have done it years ago on order Glocks
I have a 21 SF glock which I love to death and when I gripped the 23 for a concealed carry I agree 100% I FELL IN LOVE lol. I was actually surprised because I don't like smaller concealed carry weapons, I prefer ones that are concealable ish that are comfortable to me but also aren't a bitch to carry around. But when I gripped the 23 I was surprised if felt a lot like my 21 SF. It feels like a larger gun for a compact. And as with all glocks, just shoots beautifullly, never jams (unless you use that crappy Tulo Ammo) etc. Beautiful gun
Gen 3 with frying pan finish was the Glock pinnacle in our humble opinion. Another good thing about the Glock 23 vs the 19 is it's virtually impossible to get it to limp wrist malfunction when firing .40 S&W.
I haven't bought an 357sig barrel but I have the Lone wolf 40-9mm conversion barrel. Before this 9mm ammo shortage it was fun to shoot 9mm though my G23. But I'll always love the 40 s&w round.

Nice choice. 👍 Personally, in the process of adding a 45 ACP Glock to put in the 19 and 19X rotation ... calling it a Glock 30X (13-round mag; standard EDC load). So while you were there getting yours last Saturday (maybe), I was at Palm Beach Shooting Center scooping up a Glock 30S.😉 The 30X plan? Fits my G19 and some G26 holsters; all set there. Talon Grips & Inforce APLc delivered; Glock night sights, Slide Spider, 13 Round Magazines with X-Grips, and Tungsten Guide Rod enroute. Yeah, baby! I feel a sweet shooter coming on.

He is right Glocks are reliable not the pretty gun out in the market. But they are reliable.I sold my XD and my Sig and I only got Glocks you can't go wrong.
Glocks are awesome Jose!
Will all G23 mags fit in a Gen 3 Glock 23?
Yes new Glock mags will fit in older style Glocks.
Old Glock mags will not fit into new Glocks.
StepGun...Are u sure that the barrel from Glock 32 will work in Glock 23?? Or We must buy a CONVERTION KIT Glock 23 in 357 SIG??? Double check for me...Thanks again StepGun..
Which sites are those ?
You got a suscriber.thats a beauty
Thank you Lucas!
Very cool video!
Thank you!
Got a brand new Gen 3 about a month ago. Would the DPM recoil spring make it feel more like a Gen 4?
I've had the gen 4 23 and love it. But picked up a gen 3 23 the other day. Haven't shot it yet but I hear everyone raving about it over the gen 4. Any particular reason why? Stay safe bud.
@@johndel1971able This was maybe gonna be my ‘one gun’, so I didn’t wanna chance it with something used. $150 pricing difference, and I’m one of the few that actually like size of grip and the finger grooves in it.
@@RipTraxx Thanks for answering so quickly bud. Best of luck to you with it. Happy shooting 👍
@@johndel1971able how many rounds have been put through yours? You get yours new or used?
@@RipTraxx In my gen 4 23 I have about 2500 rounds give or take with zero issues. The gen 3 i haven't shot yet as I just bought it 3 days ago. Both pistols were brand new when I bought them.
I love the Glock Gen 3!
I have the gen 4 23 but just picked up another yesterday in gen 3. Haven't shot it yet but I hear people raving about the 3 over the 4. Any reason why? Just curious. Stay safe bud.
Good video you deserve more subs
Thank you!
They told me that as I ordered the Gen4 cuz I was trying to get a gen 3 but they told me that no more was being or no more was in production
Wrong
Can't disagree ! 👍
I miss my g23 gen4
It was my first gun and looking back at it, it really does do it all.
Can also shoot 9s. even tho i have a glock 19 gen 5, the 23 is by far the best edc imo
.40 S&W > 9mm
.45 ACP > 9mm
Nope
Ues if u want rexoil and overpenetration
40 cal guy. I like it.
You must not know how handgun ballistics work. Go ahead and research what trauma surgeons think is a superior caliber and they will tell they can tell the difference between 9, 40, and 45 when it comes to gunshot wounds.
@@baroncarlo369 .40 is still the most balanced round out of all 3 though. It's a little snappy but it's bigger than 9mm and has more velocity than .45.
Quick question, what exact sights are those?
Tru Glo TFX fiber and night sights!
