- After arriving in Poway, there was a lot of time in which no trucks could be found. So we decided to head over to the part of route that I hadn't yet seen. And immediately we were greeted by this truck making its way up the road toward us. This is the 2nd truck I filmed on this day, and by far the best sounding of them.
Its a CWS on a Volvo WXLL powered by what I believe to be a Caterpillar engine of some sort. It had a great sound when in the right spot, but the rest of the time it liked to hiss haha. If you choose to watch it all the way through you'll get to hear it the way I heard it while filming. One clip in particular captured the sound nicely.
Its neat to see a newer truck with such an old school appearance to it. This may not be the oldest truck, and certainly not the rarest, but I think it was still easily one of the most entertaining trucks I have filmed. I had a blast following this truck and I hope you all enjoy it too!

One of my old trucks!!!!! Love seeing this beauty in action again. Only difference is that they control the bin from the side and not inside. Awesome

Wow, definitely enjoyed this one (like you said I would haha). Love newer square bodies like this still exist. Sounds really nice too, it'd be nice to see trucks like this make their way out to AZ... No controls inside the cab? Weird. Neat area too, nice seeing more manual greens. Hope they don't automate these routes / replace these trucks anytime soon. Awesome find/post
That truck sure does sound amazing, Especially during the packing shots. As for the gas pedal while dumping, I've always been a big fan of that personally. Also great to see the exterior controls rather than the ones inside the cab too. Did the collector drive a side loader before this truck? Great work!!

Great vid Mike! Love the growl this truck gives off at takeoff and while packing! I believe this truck is powered by a Volvo VE engine coupled to an Allison automatic. Great find! Any more footage of this truck?
