Not only do I love the fact that this man and his crew drive their builds on a daily basis, but that they've known each other for so many decades and have stuck together. They're the real deal.
This guy is not scared to get after it and stay in it as long as he wants and is cool as a cucumber while doing it. I respect his driving demeanor. I imagine that if that truck gets sideways he would probably turn out of it pedaling the throttle and enjoy the action. In most of the episodes I have seen, the drivers get on it for a bit as long as the car is going straight. Not this man, he goes into the deep end and searches for more. He runs on Adrenaline and Dopamine.
Driven not hidden! Cant wait to see it with 14x32s and paint! So many owners never get the fun, memories that this guy is cause they "are afraid to drive it". Weird
This is why they need to bring shop classes back to schools man that man talked about his shop teacher so much my shop teacher still alive I owe him for me getting in the cars as besides my brothers and my father
This might be my favorite AutotopiaLA vid thus far. I love everything about this from the truck build, to the OG driver, to Sean's facial expressions when he mashes it. Love, Love, Love it......This is what it's about.
Best interview no doubt , I love all of the interviews & the cars but this guy is genuine with the stories and history of his life experiences , you can actually feel his passion for the people around him !! The true definition of all out fun 👉💯🔥🔥🔥✌️
If that guy doesn't already have a RUclips CHANNEL he needs to start one cause his personality, friends, cars and club is something i would make sure to watch the instant he posts on his channel.
22:57 -- new patch for every gear, absolutely sick clip, and truck. This guy looks like he'd be a blast to hangout with, and his crew. Good stuff, good stuff.
Absolutely incredible driver! I wish I had a mentor like he had. I would have saved myself a lot of hardships in my teens and twenties. Bring this guy back for more.
That truck is insane. The driver is so amazing. He knows what he is doing!!! At 24:15 or so when he dumps it and finally gets into 4th. The look on his face, the confidence. He knew what to do. Incredible!! Amazing truck. Amazing driver. Amazing video. Thanks!!!!
I have a close relative of mine back in the day driving like a mad man in a tricked out '76 Pontiac Grand prix, having it floored, car screaming like a bat outta hell simultaneously screaming.... "I WANNA GO FASTER!!!" Yet this gentleman doing this in a 1000 hp truck in his way doing like wise? Somebody give this man a TWO THOUSAND HP engine please hurry like today!
Love this truck !! Unbelievable power from 5.3 LS. Nice to see all the convertibles settling around. Don’t see them in East Tennessee. Glad I found this channel
Why did I get the shivers when he hit the pedal :). Bro, this is what I wanted for my brothers and me because this is what we have grown up around. Our paps had us going in the fields with 250 cars, so we could find motors or parts for a car he wanted us to build. My brothers took a different path, and I still do what I like. I have a 57 Apache and a 1970 Ford Torino GT convertible that I'm adding some treats to it.
Roger that! I got a thing about others driving me been in too many wrecks. This guy I honestly would trust. He knows that truck like the back of his hand. Ol st racer
What a great teacher he had- getting the kids into drag racing. And WOW beautiful truck. Love the 55 step side. Love seeing a REAL driver-Blank is my new favourite racer man. You gotta shoot more of this crew.
I LOVE THE PART ABOUT DRIVING…! HE WAS TALKING ABOUT MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL JUST SO MUCH, AND HES RIGHT ESPECIALLY A QUICK RATIO STEERING BOX AND YOU MIGHT HAVE TO FEATHER THAT THROTTLE EVER SO LIGHTLY THE SAME .. USED TO DO ALOT OF STREET RACING / DRIFTING BACK IN THE EARLY 70’S…! I HAD RELATIVES AND FRIENDS THAT COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW FAR OUT OF SHAPE I COULD TAKE IT WITHOUT CRASHING AND NEVER DID…! LOVE TO HANG WITH THIS DUDE AND PICK HIS BRAIN…SO COOL…🏁🏁😎
Man this video gave me absolute hills and goosebumps. That man can drive his freakin ASS OFF! What a great guy! That truck is an absolute animal! Them drag radials where screaming for dear life. You can tell the intensity in his face but its just effortless and hes so at home and relaxed. UNBELIEVABLE! One of the best videos ever! Thank you!
BLANK, LOOKS LIKE THE REAL DEAL. He explains everything so well. This episode brings me back to my street- racing days. I know this will enter some young guy or gal's want to start this way of life, but let them kind of know, what it cost to build and upkeep on some of these builds . I have seen so many lose interest and money, by getting too deep into a build. ..
I really do appreciate this episode. Blank's driving skills and his beast of a truck had me smiling from ear to ear and hollering hell yeah. He lays serious rubber in and through all 4 gears!!! I love it!!! Should call it "The Yellow Streak."
I’ve been watching this channel for a long time know and honestly this is one of the most genuine and special vids you guys have ever put out you can see the sheer friendship/happiness that’s real plus my man blank is a bad mother-trucker 1 in a million kinda guy 💙🇬🇧
Awesome Truck Blank!! 5.3 is probably the best engine that Chevy has put out. It’s versatile and hard working and reliable. You really don’t need a bunch of money to make a build like that, it’s more labor and tweaking. Great Video Shawn and I would love to meet Blank and his crew. Lots of knowledge to absorb, just freaking awesome.
I've replayed that "it can get busy" part 100 times..favorite episode hands down and he's not even thru with it yet 🤯get him on again when finishes it up
To say this is one of my favorites is saying a lot with the cars and trucks on this channel. It's not just the truck it's the vibes you get from this guy, love it
9 out of 10 drivers would pile this up in a 2 week period (if that long) if they tried to drive this truck like this. Kudos to this builder and driver. Great video as well.
I just started watching this channel a few days ago and I gotta say this is my favorite episode. They’re all good, but this just hits different. The passion, story and human element makes it special. Can’t believe he’s running like that on leaf springs. Dude knows his truck and can drive. I’d be scared stless.
If I was to build a truck. It would be that one. The reaction was classic. Brought tears in my eyes knowing that man can scare people with that thing.. those guys would be a lot of fun to hang out with. The auto knowledge that those guys have with their history of racing.. I would enjoy that.
I had a 55 & this brings but memories. That big ole steering wheel. Mine was just an old truck. It had a 6 cylinder 3 on the tree. Turn the ignition switch and hit the starter pedal on the floor. Blank's truck is bad ass. Great video...
Im on my dinner break here in the uk🇬🇧 and i had to watch this video twice and how that truck left black lines up the road was amazing i love all your videos but this one is the best one for me the guy who owns that truck was the real deal built fast to go fast. All the best jason from the uk 🇬🇧
I love this type of builds were the owners know what's in their cars and not readings some fancy shop build sheet they prepared for them.. i love the episodes most gar guy's can relate to.. well done Sir.
i have been watching your channel for a long time, and you have had some fast cars and trucks but this truck... Man Brother has a bad ass real truck.. from the moment you 2 got in that truck every single time he got on it he left posi tracks all the way 1st 2nd 3rd you can see out the back window, when you camera crew films it.. that was hands down one of the nicest guys and bad bad bad Ass trucks you have ever shown.. props and the utmost RESPECT for the Gentleman that uses his truck for work and play. he was taught right that is a fact.. props to his Mom and Shop Teacher also for getting him right
I love this, man!! This is the pinnacle of what the love of cars is about. It breaks through all barriers. What an awesome group of guys and their amazing rides. Much love!! God bless all y'all!!
My favorite episode of the channel! I've watched this entire video about 6 times already, just great people and education all around! Thanks Sean/AutoTopia!!!!
Man o man, I haven't sat down with some good ole boys and slapped some BONES down in years ! ! ! ! Killer truck and cooler folks. This is a good one Shawn . 😎🤙
I would not change anything on this nasty 55 .the best thing about your truck is the fact that you have all of that power and you have managed to get that twist to the real estate with a factory framework.much respect
Best interview and vehicle I've seen yet, simple setup(It has to go into boost a sometime, I don't know how you can get 1000 hp out of a 5.3 unless your in boost), I have a similar 6.0 setup coming on my 1972 chevelle which will kick in boost at 3500 rpm 56mm Borg Warner's.
Nice truck, dude seems to know what he's talking about but I'm calling bullshit. No sbe 5.3 making 1k hp on gate. He's a carb guy, don't know shit about efi. Maybe capable of 1k on a max effort tune, but that's a stretch. I want to see the dyno sheet. 😂😂
Im assuming when he kept saying "no boost" he meant that it gets only 1-3 PSI cause of how its set up. But yeah I dont see how else you get a 5.3 to 1000hp with zero boost.
Best video yet!! What a rush that must’ve been!! Just watching how relaxed Blank was while his truck danced around while he steered it straight was awesome!!!!
I honestly don’t know what is cooler the truck with that sleeper boost set up or the owner himself… both are like the final boss to a car video game… don’t know what hit you until its too late and with a smile 😂
An example of how WE, people can be when we share our interests and eliminate our prejudices . Hobbies like this are one way my old & new friends counteract negativity!😊 6:39
Very cool truck. A little optimistic on 1000hp at 8psi on a 5.3. You'd need around 650na to reach a 1000 flywheel hp with no efficiency loss. Probably closer to 18 psi for 1000 flywheel hp.
One of my favorite AutotopiaLA episodes for sure! Badass truck and hell of a great guy and club! Makes me wish I had my old 57 Chevy truck back I sold 25 years ago.
They need to bring shop class back. Imagine the builds we would have if more people had access. They should’ve never took it out of schools, it’s been downhill ever since.
Not only do I love the fact that this man and his crew drive their builds on a daily basis, but that they've known each other for so many decades and have stuck together. They're the real deal.
Those are the best kinds of stories. I desire that for me and my car buddies.

He’s a real deal hard driver
Hes a pro
He's the man , he knows exactly what he's doing unfortunately not everyone that's been featured on the show is on the same level as BLANK .
If you like that you'll like "sketchy vert" that guy never lets off lmao
This is a bonafide Wheelman for sure! That man can frigging drive!
It threw me off when he said no boost it makes 1000hp. But what he means is at wastegate boost at 8psi it makes 1000hp. Lol! Love this truck!
Yea I was initially confused and scratching my head. But only spring pressure and no additional boost added.
Street racing talk. Can tell this guy mainly talks cars when he's betting 😅
Thanks I was wondering about that too. He actually didn’t answer the question properly
Lol no 1k at 8 pounds on 5.3
At first I called BS that math ain’t mathin lol
I'm sold!!!! I'm stopping every Old school truck i see until i buy one. Best interview/video on the net. Drive it OG!!!!!!!!!!!!
