A relative rarity on the roads today, the exterior of this stunning E34 535i SE remains in excellent condition. The Alpine White bodywork presents to a really high standard indeed, with just a few minor marks, commensurate to her age.....we are being hyper-critical here, as is our way, but standing next to this Bavarian Autobahn stormer is a real pleasure, her lines accentuated by the M-tech styling. Panel gaps are consistent around the car, lenses are free from damage and the original 15" BMW Style 5 alloys remain in excellent, unmarked, condition too, it's really wonderful to be able to offer such an example.
Opening the doors and the quality of the interior remains. The seats, gently creased through age are free from damage and function perfectly allowing the driver to find the perfect position for any journey ahead. The quality extends throughout the interior, typically Germanic, with function and form doing exactly as the original designers / engineers intended. Looking in the boot, you'll find a near complete tool kit and a spare wheel wheel thats never been fitted to the car....it's like new, tyre pimples and all!
Mechanically the 535i is in great condition too, note the engine bay wearing her factory wax sealant still! The M30 3.5 litre (technically 3440cc, so really 3.4 litres), straight six engine, fires instantly and settles into one of the smoothest tick-overs you're ever likely to come across. The ZF 4 speed gearbox is a delight, with Manual / Sports modes allowing the driver to hold higher revs before gear-changes. With perfectly weighted steering and suspension set up, these E34's can really handle 'spirited' driving should you wish to 'push-on' with the performance to match too and yet once on the motorway, 'Economy' engaged and drivers / passengers centre arm-rest brought down, these BM's really do offer wonderfully relaxed high speed cruising.
The supporting history file is great too, marrying with the cars wonderful condition. With 23 previous MOTs (back to her first in 1992) confirming her mileage, now 89k miles, dealer pack including all supplementary booklets and service book and invoicing confirming the car has been serviced no fewer than 19 times, BMW of course! Naturally ahead of sale we'll have her inspected, serviced (BMW filter / oil) and MOT'd too, so she'll be ready to be enjoyed from day one of ownership.
Whilst some E34's do exist in the market place our general observation is of old & tired cars, showing intergalactic mileage. This 1989 535i SE is without doubt one of the best presented BMW E34's available and comes with the all important supporting history too! There's unlikely to be many that can match this example, a true classic offering a great driving experience, a great modern classic and is ready to be cherished by her new owner.
